Would singing "I'm a little teapot, short and stout" get you arrested for apostasy? A giant teapot built by apostates in Malaysia will be demolished for the offense it presents to Islam. "Sect leader will not resist action," from the StarOnline, with thanks to Nicolei:
JERTEH: The leader of the “Sky Kingdom” deviationist religious sect said he would not stop the authorities from demolishing the giant structures, including a teapot, on its commune near here.“But the action will seriously tarnish the image of the Government internationally,” said Ariffin Mohamad, 65, better known as Ayah Pin.
Besides the teapot, the other giant structures on the sect’s commune on land bordering rubber trees and an orchard at Kampung Batu 13 near here, included a vase, umbrella, concrete boat and a “palace.”...
Rosli Abdul Samad, the liaison officer of the commune, said the structures combined the architectural elements of major religions such as Islam, Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism.
“It is aimed at promoting universal unity. The teapot signifies the purity of water and its medicinal values. It is associated with all major religions, including the water oozing from Lord Shiva’s forehead....
Last October, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Dr Abdullah Md Zain had said Ayah Pin was jailed 11 months and fined RM2,900 in June 2001 for humiliating Islamic teachings.
He had also said that the teachings of Ayah Pin were dangerous since the members of the group had declared themselves as apostates.
If that new glass Ave Maria college chapel doesn't work out, maybe they can go with the giant teapot design.

This is a perfect example of how crazy this Islamic mindset is. Is it possible for people to learn insanity? At what point will Western civilization wake up and face the fact that these people are collectively insane?

Who knew Islamic teachings could be so easily humiliated? Muslims are so absurdly insecure about their "one true religion". Muslims will never know peace until they break the bonds of a false prophet. In the meantime, even the teapots will appear to be attacking Islam.
A repeat of the Boston tea party will happen now in Malayasia hopefully....

Brothers and Sisters, let u spray for our Moslem cousins who might just have it all totally wrong, so horribly wrong, so desperately wrong that they are on there way to Hell without a return ticket.
We at the fortress here have given this deep and clear thought after many cups of "tea" and our unhappy conclusion is that if Allah is indeed the Pig of the universal plan that Moslems are so keen to kill themselves over, then our Moslem cousins are in deep stuff. Yes, we see clearly from here that Allah is a Pig, and that by maligning Pigs Moslems are sending themsleves straight to the barbeque of eternity--sans soose! The horror. The horror. Can't we do something? Can't we find a way to explain to them that they have it all wrong, and that Allah is a Pig they must worship if they're to save themsleves? We feel almost sick. Well, Larry does anyway, but he'll get over it in a few minutes. O damn, it not him we're so worried about. It's the Moslems. What are we going to do about the poor lads? We feel that the government should intervene. A Royal Commission. A White Paper. Somehow we must get the Moslems to see the truth.

It's rather unfortunate that the majority of those posting comments are purely intent on competing to see who can include as many insulting puns as possible in theira post.
Judging by the introduction, that isn't what this site is about.
Nevertheless, for those who are actually interested a little more about this controversy, to understand more would need a little background knowledge about Malaysia's history and its political system.
What it boils down to is that this controversy is less about extremist Islam but more about the dominant political party in Malaysia's ruling coalition (UMNO) doing what it believes is necessary to keep Muslims under its control, and in so doing, keep its electoral base (i.e. Muslims) secure.
They employ a similar tactic on the conservative Islamic party in Malaysia, PAS, by using the state muzzled media to promote the impression that PAS are a bunch of fanatics while UMNO's brand of Islam is the most progressive. The current administration's theme of Islam Hadhari or progressive Islam is a good example of a move countering PAS.
However progressive Islam Hadhari is, it does not seem tolerant enough of deviationist teachings, no matter how peaceful they may be.
In any case, I am planning to go to the "Sky Kingdom" this weekend to check it out.
