In case you missed it, MSNBC's "Connection: Coast to Coast" featuring Ron Reagan gave a prominent mention to Jihad Watch yesterday. You can access the video here.
Tony Maciulis constructed a timeline of what may have led up to the Newsweek controversy on the web. Robert's entry of May 9th featuring Pakistani Imams praising the cricket player Imran Khan for his calls for Pakistan to break off ties with the US was shown as one of the first blogs to mention the alleged desecration of the Qur'an at Gitmo. Regular Jihad Watch readers will know that those stories have been circulating for a long time. This particular story, however, was sent in by Skeetstreet.
We want to thank everyone who contributes to Jihad Watch by sending in stories, making comments, or making contributions. With your help, we are making a difference. Yesterday, even MSNBC noticed.
Yes. Draw the RugPilots into the open.
It sounded like JW was a blog for jihadis, which is not so bad if it gets people to come here to investigate. Read, and stay.
Is there anyone out there who has the info on how many times Jihadwatch has been mentioned by the mainstream media? ABC, CNN, NPR, etc...
And where was Chris Matthews?
This is very good news. First the Billboard, and now being mentioned again on National TV. Things are not looking good for the apologists of Islamic Jihad.
Pakistani Imams basing their orchestrated hate campaign on lies? No big surprise.
I agree, the reporter in that piece sounded almost disturbingly like he assumed "Jihad Watch" was a pro-Jihad/Islam blog. And people wonder how bad reports come out? Assumption.
Don't forget, the guy reading the script along with the video didn't piece the information together himself, so it's quite possible he doesn't even realize the cultural or political slant of JW.
A bit disturbing, but if it brings more readers here, so much the better.
It is only a matter of time before all the major media, and the public in general, come to folks like Robert Spencer and Daniel Pipes for information and advice about what is really going on in the global Jihad, whose many tentacles are completely ignored. The Jihad Watch archives will, inevitably, be consulted by many looking for background on threats and violence that will seem inexplicable. I hate to make that prediction, but so it goes.
Unfortunately, for Pipes, this will mean a second round of 'I told you so's'.
JW on any major network? Get real!
News Weak should be given a medal, not ostracized for their little helpful tidbit.
I just check the JW hit counter - no obvious signs of hit increase.
We can't let this thing die! More! More Allagasms! More!
I love it!
From the muslim site mentioned by MSNBC,
"I'm not at all saying I'm opposed to this project. Muslims are nowhere near as up tight about scientific progress as our Christian counterparts. The natural world is, after all one of two sources of knowledge for mankind, the other being knowledge from God, including revelation. It is amazing how the Quran is often confirmed by what we observe in the World."
Yeah, right./ sarcasm
Carolyn2-
How dare you mock the prognostications of the perfect epistle of the Islamic apostle!
If you will check the Qu'ran closely, it clearly predicted:
Global Warming. (Sura 98.6)
An iceberg sinking the Titanic. (Sura 32.2)
West Nile Virus. (Sura 99.44)
Eastern Airlines. (Sura 54.40)
Spotted Owls. (Sura 20.20)
Snail Darters. (Sura 10.4)
In fact, using the method I have patented called RVI-(Random Vowel Insertion, since Arabic is a consonant-only language), it can prove that the Koran has predicted everything. (It makes the 'Bible Code' look sick!)
In fact, I have consulted the 'Recitation' (the literal meaning of the Qu'ran) and will now give a prediction:
Many Muslims will be angered by something very simple very soon!
Watch the headlines!
Wow, BigSleep you rival Nostradamus!
Carolyn2-
I knew you were going to say that!
To demonstrate my skills at Koranic prognostics further, I forcast that:
A meteor will hit the Ka'aba.
And a cry from all of Islam shall go up saying:
"KA'ABA DABBA-DOO!"
Bigsleep...KA'ABA DABBA-DOO...hahahahaha.
Why didn't I think of that?
