KABUL - A bomb exploded at an Internet cafe in the Afghan capital, Kabul, on Saturday killing two Afghans and wounding five, police said.The cafe is at the front of a guest house used by Westerners in the heart of the city.
"Two people have been killed and five wounded by the bomb blast," Kabul police chief Akram Khakrizwal told Reuters.
Speaking to reporters in front of the damaged cafe, he later described the blast as an act of terrorism.
Police were trying to determine if the explosive had been carried by a suicide attacker or placed in the cafe, he said...
The koran appears to be a jumbled mess written by a man (who contradicts himself and blames it on the devil, etc).... but I think that if muslims would just stick to the koran and abandon the Hadiths and Sira, that there might be the possibility for peaceful co-existence between muslims and the rest of humanity.
I wonder if muslims ever think about who wrote the Hadiths and what the writers' motivations might have been. (I heard mo say this... I saw mo do that.... ). Humans are corrupt. Humans wrote the Hadiths and the Sira. Don't muslims ever stop to think that perhaps all the traditions that they follow through Hadith and Sira are man-made, and may have been written by men with ulterior motives? Am I way off base here?

Thomas Haidon has nothing to do with CAIR. I suspect he converted to Islam without doing what the accountancy and law firms call Due Diligence. Parts of it appealed to him. He then learned more, became properly appalled, and now may be in a quandary: do I stay, or do I go?
The longer he stays (if indeed he is staying) the more difficult it will be for him to reconcile what he knows about Islam, with his fading hopes that somehow, in some way, it cannot really be the moral and intellectual disaster it appears to be -- can it? Yes it can.
There is no harm in admitting one has made a mistake. Even a big mistake. The mistake, if properly analyzed, and indeed offered to the world as an example by one ex-Muslim of How Not to Do It, or How I Became a Muslim, and Then Discovered What Islam Is All About, could in fact be of great interest to others -- and possibly help others avoid the same mistake.
There is one problem: physical safety. Islam is a cult, a cult that finds converts among the vulnerable, or those temporarily vulnerable find Islam, and that has them sign up for the Army of Islam without reading the fine print in the Hadith, the Sira, and even in the Qur'an itself. It is only later that one discovers what one has gotten in for. Some people, having made the choice, stick with it -- and get in still further, and further. Their minds dissolve in the attempt to reconcile what they know, with what they want somehow to continue to believe. Why they would have that difficulty is a puzzlement, but then people do strange things.
Perhaps even now Mr. Haidon cannot quite announce to the world, much less to himself, what he has discovered about Islam. But surely he must realize that in the Army of Islam, one's attempt to exercise freedom of mental choice is not permitted, and if he leaves, he is probably one of those who wishes to leave quietly. Very quietly.
But he's not, one can see, a mere shill for others. He probably could, if he wished, tell the world a lot about the phony "reforming" Muslims, and those who are putting up a facade of being against "terrorism" (which is like coming out against Mass Murder), in order to promote their own political ambitions. If he is brave, perhaps someday he will do this.
It is up to him. But I am sure he would not recommend to anyone else, at this point, to do what in a moment of mental or emotional disarray he apparently did, some time ago. And he would certainly not wish to raise children as Muslims -- no surer way to limit their mental life exists. Who would want to inflict that on a child, unless one were a convinced Muslim oneself?

Here's the problem as I see it. There are 6.4 Billion people on earth, and the population in non Western countries is exploding geometrically, in population wars fecundity wins out.
The worlds Muslim population is between 25 and 30%, according to some statistics. They also sit on most of the oil reserves.
Muslims claim that they are 10% of the US population (they overstate their numbers for political purposes), but they are around 20% of Europe and if Turkey is granted admission to the EU that will tip the balance towards Muslims having effective control of the EU and Europe.
There is a serious culture war going on between the once enlightened (but regressing west) and the (Islamic) east.
A war that we will inevitably lose, if folk like those mentioned above (Robertson,Dobson, Haggard et al) don't change course.
Sadly, with the fall of the Soviet Union these folks decided to launch their own culture war, this one internal, against our own secular democracy and half or more than half of the population of the US.
Two culture wars, one self inflicted and internal, a house divided cannot stand.
My problem is this. I'm too old to be personally affected, and I fear my remaining time is limited. HOwever I have children, grandchildren and great grand children and I do not want them growing up performing Salat, or being forced to pronounce a belief in Allah or even YHVH or Jesus, nor do I want them pledging allegiance to the Islamic Republic of America, one nation under Allah, anymore than they should have to pledge allegience to one nation under (the Judeo Christian) god.
There really are no winners in the battle for god, and I honestly fear, and see signs, that we are on the cusp of a new dark age. The Muslims almost won the battle for god in the last dark age, despite Charles Martels victory at Poitier, the Christians of Spain and Europe were so busy fighting each other, that it is only the internal corruption and power struggles between the Muslims themselves, that enabled the west to free itself from the bonds of Muslim slavery. E.G. only one European King came to the relief of Vienna in it's second seige, John Sobieski of Poland, the other Christian Kings of the Holy Roman Empire, weren't interested, the King of France himself obliged the call for relief, by abstaining from attacking Vienna during the Muslim seige.
But will we be so lucky this time? The problem now is different. Not just Christian Kings fighting for power and territory, but the very populace itself involved in their own holy wars against their fellows. And to compound the problem, the west has welcomed into it's bosom fifth columnists, whose only loyalty is to their ummah, not the nation that gives them succor, and our political leaders throw money at them, give them influential positions in high office, including the likes of the FBI, CIA, TSA and Homeland security, while their families are business partners and personal friends with them.
Even the lowest private knows that you don't fight a war on two fronts, or let the enemy surround you, but it is suicide to fight a war on two fronts, especially when one of those fronts is internal, and self inflicted.
