"'Super Size Me' director turns to TV," from Reuters, with thanks to Susan:
NEW YORK - The man who made a hit movie out of eating McDonald's fast food for a month has filmed a "fundamentalist Christian" man living as a Muslim to find out what it's like to face the prejudice that many Muslims in America deal with since Sept. 11.The experiment is part of "Super Size Me" Director Morgan Spurlock's new reality TV show "30 Days," which places people in a variety of unfamiliar circumstances for 30 days...
"One of my favorite episodes is ... what's it like to be a Muslim in America... who is seen every day as a threat to our freedom simply because of their color, their race, their religion," Spurlock told Reuters in an interview on Monday.
What does this have to do with color or race? Absolutely nothing. Do American Muslims not want to be seen as a threat? Fine: renounce Sharia, and work against jihad terrorism.
"(It's) something we deal with every day in America, and we hear about it with terrorism threats every day," he said."We took a fundamentalist Christian from my home state of West Virginia, somebody who is very pro-war, pro-'us versus them,' that when you hear Muslim the only thing he thinks of is a guy standing on a mountain with an AK-47," Spurlock said.
The man leaves his wife and children at home and goes to live with a Muslim family in Dearborn, Michigan, home to one of the largest Muslim populations in the United States.
"He dresses as a Muslim, eats as a Muslim, he prays five time a day, he studies the Koran daily, he learns to speak Arabic, he works with an imam, a Muslim cleric, to learn the history of Islam, what are the five pillars, why are they important."
"And the transformation this guy goes through in 30 days is miraculous, it's incredible," Spurlock said...
I'm looking forward to Spurlock's show about a jihadist living as a Christian for 30 days.
Wait a second, this must be a trick!!! What happens after the 30 days are over? Muhammed said in the Hadith that those who change their Islamic religion MUST BE KILLED!!! They must have missed that in the contract. :p
I hate to break the news but being a Muslim would actually disqualify his status as a fundamentalist christian. We trinitarian "Polytheists" actually have standards of faith as well.
I'm sure that the "Christian living as a Muslim" will, in his interactions with Muslims, only see and hear the soft, gentle, peaceful version of Islam which presents jihad as personal struggle against sin, etc. Since the faux-Muslim will be unable to read the Koran in Arabic, he must rely upon others for translation and interpretation. Ditto for sermons in Mosques.
As for the alleged "discrimination" faced by Muslims in the Dearborn (metro-Detroit) area, a number of Muslims in the area have been arrested and charged with ties to Islamic extremist groups and their vocal denunciations/protests of American policy in the Middle East have been a fixture for decades.
Unfortuantely, as noted in another article on Jihad Watch, at least one writer for a Detroit newspaper (Detroit News) seems to have adoped the role of dhimmitude and fails to accurately report on Islamic activity in the area. In fact, either the Detroit News or Free Press regularly offers a column by a local muslim cleric who professes a kinder gentler Islam.
Many non-muslim residents of the metro-Detroit area avoid the overwhelmingly Muslim Dearborn area fo good reason.
Note to Robert: You might like to make some inquiries regarding the influence of Muslims and the influence of pro-Islamic views at Wayne State University and the Dearborn public schools. David Horowitz would, no doubt, also find WSU an interesting subject for his Campus Watch project.
If they don't like how they're treated here, then why aren't they trying to leave?
This is just going to be hailed as proof of allah
Islam is christianity completed and a call to islam I want to vomit
Not a very enterprising fellow is he.
He would have had more fun as a christian living in Sudan or Saudi Arabia.
Hopefully the guy was profoundly affected and actually converted to Islam.
If he did not then there lies a story worth telling. Why didn`t he really convert? What`s he afraid of?
Dammit Hutch you beat me to it.
The guy actually is pretty funny. I just saw "Super Size Me" last month. It's a pretty funny movie... especially the part where his girlfriend calls him a dud in bed (i.e. says he's a lousy lover.)
Yeah, let's see someone try to dress up as a Christian (or better still an orthodox Jew) and go traipsing down the street in Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Yemen, Oman, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar; in other words, any Muslim hellhole. And let the guy also carry and American (or Israeli flag They wouldn't LIVE for thirty days. You wouldn't even be able to get the guys from "Jackass" to do that.
Or better still, have an experiment. Tape men dressed in shirts with gay-lib statements, carrying rainbow signs declaring their homosexuality, maybe even holding hands. Stage them in Texas, Idaho, and any of the above Muslim hellholes. Now see who lasts the longest.
I'd like to see a reality show about non-Muslims who live under dhimmitude in Muslim countries. In fact, if you think about it, it's been done before. It was the original "Survivor," where non-muslims, instead of being voted off, are killed off. (Unless, of course, they convert to Islam)
Before any journalist, commentator, news magazine producer, documentarian, etc, plays the dhimmi about how Muslim's in America are "suffering" because of their religion, they should live for 30 days in a Muslim country and see what DHIMMITUDE is really about.
As an American, Spurlock probably had a lot experience eating at fastfood restaurants. However, he probably has zero knowledge of Islam, and with little or no background he is in position to make a film or television program about "What its like to be a Muslim." He could never know without spending many months after a true conversion.
Spurlock's experiment with "living as a Muslim" for thirty days gave him only a miniscule glimpse of one tiny corner of the Muslim world. Did he have a preconceived hypothesis that was "proved" by this little experiment?
One hopes that he doesn't base a book or film on this evidence alone. Over a much longer period of time, he should make a more critical analysis by interviewing those on the many sides of the problem.
Info_tech_guy, that was pretty much what I thought as well; if the guinea-pig was staying with a Muslim family and being chaperoned by them, they would ensure he didn't hear what is really said in a Muslim household. He wouldn't witness any wife beating, nor death-threats against sisters, nor cursing of infidels, etc.
The Muslims must have been creaming their jeans for this, a chance to do Da'awa on film!!
Very sick!
TechCentralStation has a whole segment of their site debunking Spurlock here:

No true Christian would offer prayers to Allah. No true Christian would attend, as a participant, a Muslim worship service. I think the "Christian" recruited by the filmmaker may well be a "plant." It would be interesting to have someone do some research on the alleged Christian to see if he is really what Spurlock claims he is.
Using the term fundamental Christian is only to give them credibility in the publics eye/and muslims eyes. Because he is not a Christian.
Just because the guy went to church makes him no more a Christian, then if I went to my garage would make me a car.
Just how much does this knucklehead Spurlock actually think he is going to learn about Islam in just 30 days when most of the Western world has been trying to come to grips with islam for 1400 years!!??!!!??....he has to be some liberal goofball...someone smack him in the back of the head and tell him to wise the hell up and go back to whatever rock he crawled out from under...Supersize Me????....didnt see the movie, im not gonna waste my hard earned money on some schlockumentary that is plain ole common sense....if you eat fatty food every day, youre gonna get FAT!!!...DUHHH!!!!....and like the Muslim cleric who teaches the plant, and id bet its a plant, is gonna tell him the entire truth on Islams past and present plans on the world....just gonna tell him alll the lies about Allah{Satan} and good ole Mo....sheesh, think im gonna be sick just thinking about the movie this idiot is by all chance gonna turn out....he has to be a follower of Mikey Moore, another idiot who churns out b.s. "movies".....nuff said
This is no accident or coincidence. There are ideological connections between Leftism and pro-Islamism (or the PC multi-culturalism that by default supports Islam).
The Leftist, anti-American subtext of the movie "Super Size Me" is evident.
The French anti-Muslim journalist Alexandre del Valle has documented how the infamous Jose Bové (who commandeered a bulldozer to destroy a recently constructed McDonald's in France) regularly supports Palestinian Muslim causes. Hm... what's the connection between being anti-McDonald's and being pro-Palestinian? Answer: both have the common enemy of the evil Zionist-American Capitalist Empire trying to take over the globe.
Note how Spurlock makes the conscientious effort of making the show one sided by having a very stereotypical guy live with Muslims and abide by everything while making no attempt to have the Muslims understand anything about the guy except the stereotype.
I bet there will be no interfaith dialogue between the two parties either. Also, what's with the need to turn religions into races?
Re: "He dresses as a Muslim, eats as a Muslim, he prays five time a day, he studies the Koran daily, he learns to speak Arabic, he works with an imam, a Muslim cleric, to learn the history of Islam, what are the five pillars, why are they important."
"And the transformation this guy goes through in 30 days is miraculous, it's incredible," Spurlock said..."
Of course the transformation is incredible you idiot. It's called brainwashing and is right out of the playbook of any cult. You remove someone from their environment, immerse them in another culture (and isolate them from friends and family), keep up the pressure throughout the day and cloak it religious mumbojumbo.
johnb --
The brainwashing with these converts to Islam is also aided by our Leftist anti-American brainwashing. This has over the years set up a cultural climate in the West, predisposing certain types (Johnnie Walker Lindh, etc.) to take their Leftist anti-Americanism to the ultimate step and join those romantic anti-Capitalistic anti-Western Che Guevaras of the 21st century: the Muslims.
BTW - in case their is any confusion, my "idiot" slur was directed at Mr. Spurlock.
Remember Patty Hearst and the Stocholm syndrome.
In 1973, four Swedes held in a bank vault for six days during a robbery became attached to their captors, a phenomenon dubbed the Stockholm Syndrome. According to psychologists, the abused bond to their abusers as a means to endure violence.

I think all the fat from the previous movie went to Spurlock's head.
(His name sounds suspiciously like that of a conniving weasel character out of a Dickens novel.)
Does the 'fundamentalist Christian' ask any difficult questions of the Muslims?
I doubt it.
Does the 'fundamentalist Christian' read any works on Islam before going to join the family for the 30 day cultfest?
I doubt it.
Didn't see the last movie, won't see this one.
I'd rather put my money in a shredder than have it go to fund dhimmitude.
Billions for defense, not one cent for tribute."
