There's an interesting nugget in a Washington Times article interviewing Assistant Attorney General Christopher A. Wray who provides the following information. "Terrorists will fail, official says," with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:
...Criminal Division prosecutors and investigators, working with state and local authorities, have disrupted more than 150 terrorist cells and threats from Portland, Ore., to Lackawanna, N.Y., incapacitating more than 3,000 known operatives. They also have charged 375 persons in terrorism-related cases, 195 of whom already have pleaded guilty or been convicted, and removed from the country more than 500 people linked to September 11. The targeted terrorists have included members of al Qaeda, Hezbollah and Hamas as part of an effort to prevent and prosecute those who commit or intend to commit terrorist acts against the United States...

In Paul Sperry's book "Infiltration" he mentions that the 9-11 hijackers received help from at least 7 mosques in the US. So this news doesn't surprise me.

Muslim Rape Epidemic in Sweden and Norway - Authorities Look the Other Way
Numbers released in January 2005 indicate a sharp rise in the number of rape charges in Malmö, Sweden’s third largest city:
Thomas Anderberg, responsible for statistics at the Malmö Police, says there was a doubling of the number of reported rapes by ambush in 2004, following what was already a decade of steadily increasing numbers of sexual crimes. - I think that’s great news, says Anna Gustafsson, head of the Domestic Violence Unit at the Malmö Police. She suggests that the increase is due to the fact that women who otherwise wouldn’t press charges for rape now choose to contact the police.
In other words, Gustafsson claims that we are dealing with a “technical” increase, not a real one. However, national statistics reveal that reported rapes against children have almost doubled in Sweden during the past ten years:
According to Swedish Radio on Tuesday, statistics from Sweden’s National Council for Crime Prevention show that the number of reported rapes against children is on the rise. The figures have nearly doubled in the last ten years: 467 rapes against children under the age of 15 were reported in 2004 compared with 258 in 1995. Legal proceedings continue this week in a case involving a 13 year old girl from Motala who was said to have been subjected to a group rape by four men. (Note: These four men were Kurdish Muslims, who raped the girl for hours and even took photos of doing so)
The number of rape charges per capita in Malmö is 5 – 6 times that of Copenhagen, Denmark. Copenhagen is a larger city, but the percentage of immigrants is much lower. And it’s not just the rape statistics that reveal a scary increase in Malmö or Sweden. Virtually every kind of violent crime is on the rise. Robberies have increased with 50 % in Malmö only during the fall of 2004. Threats against witnesses in Swedish court cases have quadrupled between 2000 and 2003. During the past few decades, massive immigration has changed the face of Sweden’s major cities, as well as challenged the viability of the welfare state. In 1970 Sweden had the fourth highest GDP per capita among developed countries with income about 6% above the OECD average. By 1997 it was at fifteenth place with an average GDP per capita 14% below average. Malmö has a heavy concentration of Muslim immigrants in particular. According to some estimates, it will be a Muslim majority city in no more then 10 years. Crime is rampant in the growing ghettos:

Even though Sweden, unlike Denmark, has almost no public debate about immigration, frustration is very much present underneath the surface. 75 % of Swedes think that many people in their country “dislike” Muslims, more than in any other European nation surveyed. Even in Holland, which recently witnessed violent clashes with Muslims after the murder of Islam-critic Theo van Gogh, the rate is lower than in Sweden. But you’re not supposed to talk about such issues in Sweden. That would be “racist”:

What is the definition of "linked"? If a grocery store bagger said hello to Mr. Atta (and also unfortunately happened to be somewhat brownish in skin color), would he be "linked" to 9/11? I would be interested to hear the answer...

Well let me see, who would they deport, hmmm - maybe those that gave them money, helped them get flight training, passports or visas, mosque staff, those that paid for their tickets, got weapons for them, etc etc.? Naw - it would be their dry cleaners. For sure. Although, if it were just people they met before getting on planes to murder innocent people, the FBI would be mostly interviewing hotel employees, liquor merchants and strippers, no?
You know, the more darkly amusing thing about all this is that while in Iraq, Christians (and Jews, presumably - can't remember) are actually being killed or burned out of their homes and shops for supposedly "collaborating" with the government (and why? why would they collaborate? what possible stake would they have in either a Shiite OR Sunni sectarian state? - they're going to be dhimmis in either case, frankly), there are actual religious groups in this country - 1,2, count 'em SEVEN mosques - who helped the attackers. SEVEN. Linked would probably also include those with extremist views in such mosques - their deportation immediately then being a good thing, since it seems that such sentiments are not really as harmless as they used to be, about 3.75 years ago.

Although Iraq once had a sizable Jewish population that formed much of the country's upper middle class, they are virutally all gone after many decades of systemic persecution, particlarly in the 20th century. I think at the time of the March 2003 invasion, the Jewish population of Iraq was probably no more than 100.
An American lawyer of Iraqi Jewish descent, Carol Basry, has just released a movie, "The Last Jews of Baghdad" that tells the story of what happened to a community that lived in Iraq for 2500 years, (but I can't recall if she deals with the "Baghdadi Jews" of India -- a community founded in the 17th century when David Sassoon led a large contingent of his co-religionists from Iraq to India, that continues to live there peacefully, although somewhat diminished in number, not because of persecution, but because they sought better economic opportunities elsewhere).
