Qur'an desecration becoming a pretext

...for the unleashing of anti-American sentiments. Afghan riot update, from "Afghans killed in anti-U.S. riots" in CNN:

KABUL, Afghanistan -- At least four people have been killed and 70 injured in violent protests in Jalalabad over reports U.S. interrogators at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base desecrated copies of the Quran during questioning of prisoners held there.

The trouble started as thousands of demonstrators marched Wednesday through the streets of Jalalabad, in the eastern part of the country, officials and eyewitnesses said.

Afghan's interior ministry reported police fired at the crowds when they began to attack government buildings.

A witness told CNN that police as well as U.S. troops fired into the air to keep the crowds under control.

Thirteen people were arrested, the interior ministry said.

A group of protesters attacked the governor's house and the Pakistani consulate in Jalalabad, according to a Pakistani foreign ministry official, but no one was injured.

An Afghan official in Jalalabad said the crowd also attacked U.S. Army vehicles, and U.S. soldiers fired into the air before leaving the area.

Rallies were also held in several cities in neighboring Pakistan, where the religious party alliance MMA announced plans to mount a countrywide protest against the United States Friday...

Rumors are enough to start mass demonstrations, to attack those theUS) that allowed demonstrations in the first place, since under the Taliban there were none.

Ahh, the Islamic mindset, the Islamic 'culture'-
what we owe to them and what we can expect when we allow them to spread their poison in the infidel countries of the West, which have degenerated into 'cesspools of immorality'- (Abu Hamza)

At least Abu Hamza is in Jail. Millions still roam free...

The protest day will be observed on May 13 across the country under the aegis of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) to condemn the desecration of the Holy Quran, inhuman treatment with prisoners in Guantánamo Bay prison, and the publication of a derogatory cartoon in the Washington Times about Pakistan.

They will do this by sending a "caravan of democray" around the country. But DON'T trust the MMA. In recent times they have changed thier stance and are a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Recently this six-party religious alliance (which constitutes one-fifth of our country's parliament), introduced a bill in parliament seeking a complete ban on women in advertising. It proposes one-year imprisonment for any ad agency that uses women models - and at least five years for those found in repeated violation of this law.

The word "indecent" includes everything that is against religion, eastern values and traditions, and promotes licentiousness.

The move follows the MMA's recent successes in stopping women from participating in outdoor sports.

Luckily the MMA failed to stop the government's aggressive campaign against local and foreign Islamic militants in which hundreds have been arrested and dozens killed over the last three years.

The MMA's string of failures includes their inability to stop the first bus service across divided Kashmir in more than 50 years. They Islamists believe that the bus service is part of a process that will see the disputed divide of Kashmir become, in time, the accepted border, with most of the state recognised as part of India. For them, the bus service can cause irreparable harm to Kashmiris' freedom struggle.

As they have failed with political issues, they have succeeded on issues such as the religion column and women's participation in public life. Here they are have having far more success compared to the political front.

Despite his avowed policy of turning Pakistan into a modern, enlightened Islamic democracy, Gen Musharraf's government has so far made no headway in dealing with discriminatory religious legislation such as the so-called Islamic penal provisions introduced by Gen Ziaul Haq back in the 1980s. Mushi vowed to repeal Pakistan's controversial blasphemy laws soon after he came to power. But following a brief and intense campaign by hardline Islamists, he backtracked.

In the light of this I can find no other way in saying this:

"F**K the MMA, I hope they burn in the hell thay they want to us into"

Just want everyone to know that I'm moving up the release date for my line of Koranic toilet paper. I will be taking sales orders.

Seymour Paine,

Are gift cards and vouchers available. I for one know many rabid frothing mullahs who could use it on all the holes they have...

About kuranic desecration becoming a pretext and all....
How easy it is to get the mussis to commit mob violence, strikes and protests and damage to public property in their 3rd world homes....I would suggest regular desecrations so that the jihadis will totally destroy what little physical infrastructure there exists in their neighbourhoods. The more primitive the enemy, the less threatening he becomes.

How can cramming that execrable book down a toilet be offensive? I'm worried that most people don't seem to know what kind of hate filled manifesto the Koran really is!

The impression I get is that Islam creates
Muslims that are predisposed to violence and
go out of their way to be a career victim that's offended by the least bit of perceived "Islamophobia" .

Good suggestions, Voletti. I'm going to send some samples to Rice, I'm sure she can use a few rolls. I'm working on getting Wal-Mart interested. Perhaps I can get a few Gulf States' contracts. Anyone want to rep me there? They can choose the Sura they want. Also, coming out with Muhammud the Flyswatter, a flyswatter with an image of Muhammud on it. (Is that spelled right? Muhammud or Moo-ham-mud?)
