Will they mention that non-Muslims are not allowed, on pain of death, to get anywhere near the actual Kaabah? Somehow I doubt it. From the California Aggie, with thanks to Skeetstreet:
For the first event for Islam Awareness Week, the Muslim Student Association at UC Davis created a replica of the Kaabah in Mecca on the West Quad to educate the campus community and fight stereotypes of Islam and Muslims, according to junior Rabia Khan.Rabia said the Kaabah is a symbolic representation of Islam and Muslims.
"Muslims face the Kaabah when they pray five times a day," she said. "It is the one structure that unites all Muslims."
Along with the Kaabah exhibit, the event featured Islamic art, artifacts and food....
Yasmine and Rabia said they hope that this week will dispel some of the stereotypes surrounding Islam and Muslims.
Uh huh,and when are we going to have Infidel awarness week to dispell all the stereotpyes that muslims have against Americans.
I saw a recent story on KXTV 10 here in Sacramento(20 miles from Davis) about a local Pakistani family that have taken to covering the roof of their house with sheet metal.
Why you ask?
Why to keep the ultra-violet radiation from making them sick. They claim that it is being produced and transmitted by their neighbors. They showed one man and two women from the house on camera, all of them stated these claims. The two women are currently enrolled in college(probably Davis)and said there was scientific proof of their claims although they offered none. The reporters said the inside of the walls were covered in aluminum foil.
They interviewed a few of the neighbors who were dumbfounded.

This is all Dawah and Islamic evangelism of the most odious kind. We have Islam Awareness Week in the UK too. It seems that this has become something of a united thing amongst Muslims in the West, to try and make their propaganda and dawah into some kind of approximation of a feel good happy clappy PC Multicultural arts festival.
JLP,
Hmm.
Here in ski resort country, not too far east of your location, many homes also have metal roofs, for two reasons:
They last a long time, with no maintenance.
The snow slides off more quickly than a composite or shake roof.
But, I never knew there were other reasons to install one.
Those crafty Muslims.
Every time you turn around someone is holding a Muslim awareness event that is actually shameless proselytism served up as a cultural event. As for the education: who decides what is included and what is left out?
epg posted: Every time you turn around someone is holding a Muslim awareness event.
You said it.
UEA (Norwich) ISLAM AWARENESS EVENT (26-7 May), at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich, the Islamic Society have planned an 'awareness event' for 26-7 May 2005.
Dont muslims have anything else to do except islam awareness and jihad? Or maybe islam awareness is just a sub-set of jihad.
Nick Berg got all of the "Muslim Awareness" anyone in the free world ever needed.
(One bloody year ago. At the hands of 'Muslim hero' Zarqawi.)
Meanwhile-
The Ka'aba has a shattered meteorite as its 'holy of holies'. (Do they mention that at the infil-traitor fests?)
And-
Anything done mechanically 5 times a day, every day, will paralyze your mind and hypnotize your spirit.
BTW-
If they love Islam so much, why the hell aren't they all living in Saudi Arabia?
The Bush administration screwed up big time. After 9/11 they had the best reason in the world to flatten Mecca & Medina. I guess now it's a bit late in the day.
Vote for me. I promise to clean the place up!
PRCS,
These people weren't using it for snow, they were nuts. They just went to Home Depot and got a bunch of corrugated sheet metal and nailed it up every which way like some kind of hobo camp.
They said they all felt healthier after they shielded themselves from the ultra-voilet rays that the neighbors had been beaming at the house.

Muslims pray to a stone 5 times a day. Idolators.
