Forward their threats to the FBI, and the ISP/site(s) involved and let them put the official squeeze on the providers of these online havens for 'terroristic threats'.

When such calls to violence are aimed at public individuals, specifically, they lose their First Amendment protections. It becomes blackmail, intimidation and hatespeech (depending on the locale and most effective method for prosecuting them.)

It looks like more and more bloggers are being threatened lately. Not surprisingly since you often speak out against "jihad" and anything resembling it (cao's blog received threats herself).

The FBI probably receives many "allegations" but the best thing that they could do is shut down the site. Hopefully they will do this for the good of all. (unless the owners of the site take action themselves against those who posted).

I think these guys are mostly 14 year old blowhards, trying to impress each other...I dont think Mr Spenser is in particular danger from these particular demonics. However being out front in a cause can make one a target. We all know how tempermental Allaaaaaaah is about dis-believers and those who bad-mouth (tell the truth about) Allaaaah, Mohaaammaaad or Islaaaam. Anyone who does this is unpopular in some neighborhoods. So there is a certain ammount of risk. Mr Spenser is aware of this and has not been detered. But on the subject in hand I think these loud mouths are a threat, in that their type is responsible for individual incidents of rape and murder. In terms of trying to change opinion, I was at a forum where we had some hard core jihadi or jihadi wannabes frequent and we found that if you used a combination of logic with respect and used the Koran to argue against their own rhetoric, we could get some of these guys to soften up and then we would kill them with charm,

That forum was an unique mix of people from all over the world from all over the political spectrum, the moderator rarely kicked anyone off, it was fairly unmoderated, it was the wild wild west at times, sadly the forum closed, someone, likely jihadists did a major devastating hack job on the site, likely in retaliation since the owner had legally co-opted the domain from Al Queda on 9-12, hey if you snooze you lose, LOL, but hey it took the buggers almost 4 years to retaliate, LOL...

One guy actually claimed to be an Al Queda operative since the Soviet Afghan war, he could have been a complete liar but he was clearly an Al Queda sympathizer. However, a number of us worked on him enough that he would concede some of our points and would privately admit us Westerners weren't so bad after all, though he left the forum claiming he was off to Iraq......we wonder often if he is still alive, if he was in fact telling the truth...for example I could honestly tell him that if he fought in the Soviet Afghan war, that was a noble effort, but how can you justify killing civilians, and frankly I think it did bother him because I never got a straight answer on that point, among others - when I didn't get the jihadi talking points back in response I would assume I hit a nerve.

I do admit we also got into some real verbal tussles with some of these jihadi wannabes, but I wasn't worried, I figure most of them were blowhards, all talk and no action........then again the conservatives and liberals on the boards got into even more heated and violent tussles, esp during the elections LOL

And Allaah is the best of those who plot.
