Afghans say closing in on senior Taliban commanders

We've heard this before. Our forces seem to be closing in on Mullah Omar or even Bin Laden himself, only to have them elude capture. From Reuters:

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - Afghan and U.S. forces surrounded an area in Afghanistan on Thursday where senior commanders of elusive Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar were thought to be hiding, Afghan security officials said.

The operation, backed by U.S. helicopter gunships, followed a big U.S.-backed offensive that killed more than 100 militants in the same region of the border between Kandahar, Uruzgan and Zabul provinces in the past three days, the officials said.

Those holed up in the Dai Chopan area included Mullah Dadullah, a member of the Taliban's 10-man leadership council headed by Omar, and Mullah Brother, another commander thought close to the Taliban leader, the Defence Ministry said.

Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ishaq Paiman identified the others as Mullah Abdul Hakim, Mullah Abdul Hanan and Mullah Abdul Basir. Mullah is a title for a Muslim cleric used by many top Taliban members.

Maybe that's because they ARE clerics AND terrorists at the same time. Is anybody in government connecting the dots? Porter? Rummy? Anyone?

There you have it! They're not religious men. They stole it. They are just operating under the shield of Islam but don't represent the 'real' Islam.

This built in bias to separate the Taliban leaders from the 'real' Islam is so pervasive. You just dare not think the thought or much less, speak it: Islam is the problem, not a tiny minority.

OT, but FYI, this is a WTF is going on here,or how to slit your own throat.

I was watching Israel Broacast Authority, this morning on Mosaic, Link TV, (it's on Satellite not cable).

There is an OSCE Conference on AntiSemitism in Cordova, Spain. For the first time there is a sub conference on Islamophobia, within the larger conference.

David Kimche, Head of Israeli Council on Foreign Policy, former Deputy Head of Mossad, addressed the "Islamophobia" conference, the only non Muslim to do so.

He said "If some one is antisemitic they are also Islamophobic" (By the way that is a crock, I argue daily with antisemites, that call me a Jew because I am "Islamophobic" - translation speak facts and truth about Islam).

David Kimche argued for including Islamophobia under antisemitism.

Kareem Shora spoke to the interview, stating that "terrorism experts" in the U.S. are Isalmophobic, whining about how Islamophobia has risen since 9-11, that a passsenger on an airplane name of Mohammad Mohammad will be screened (not true)just because of his name (for his name is all that he has) if he is 5 or 90 years old, and he said cryptically "Next time he might not be."

A Sikh separatist leader Jagmohan Singh appeared at the conference seeking recognition because of
They claim discrimination, such as Frances anti Turban laws.

I find it incredible that the former Deputy of Mossad, would sweep (Jew hating) Muslims, into the anti antisemitic conference and campaign. It is akin to sheep inviting wolves into the herd.

Yawn.

These 'closing in on al qaeda/taliban/abc jiad Inc' commanders is getting cliched and boring. Am I alone in thinking we're being played here by the Pakistanis and the iranians and maybe the AFghans themselves? To be satisfied with crumbs now and then reluctantly puked oiut by the jihad factories whilst the original supply lines (read public support) and assembly lines (read madrasas) and production lines (read govt patronage)of the enemy carry on uninterruprted??

'War is deception'- remember?

House Passes Flag-Burning Amendment
Wednesday, June 22, 2005

WASHINGTON — The House on Wednesday approved a constitutional amendment that would give Congress the power to ban desecration of the American flag, a measure rejected twice by the Senate in the past decade but expected to get a closer vote this year.
By a 286-130 vote — eight more than needed — House members approved the amendment by the required two-thirds majority after a debate over whether such a ban would run afoul of the Constitution's (search) free-speech protections

FAILURE TO FIND SADDAM PROVES HE NEVER EXISTED
(2003-05-03) -- Six weeks after the invasion of Iraq, Pentagon officials are quietly beginning to acknowledge that their failure to find Saddam Hussein may be proof that the Iraqi leader never existed.

"We hate to admit it," said one unnamed official, "One of our main reasons for going in there was regime change. You know...overthrow a brutal dictator who tortured his own people. But at this point, we're not sure there ever was a Saddam Hussein. After all, if we don't have him dead or alive...who's to say?"

The military official said that the statues, murals and videos of Saddam Hussein are "circumstantial evidence which don't prove anything."

"I try to look on the bright side," he added. "Maybe we'll luck out and find a few chemical weapons so the war won't have been a total waste."

Experts agree that evidence of actual atrocities against Iraqis lacks the news value that potential atrocities against Westerners would have.
