Yes, they hate you and want to kill you, but very nicely. Dhimmi absurdity from "Afghans seek cures at shrine for Al Qaeda" in the Chicago Tribune, with thanks to LH:
NEAR KHOST, Afghanistan -- Some men want to walk without crutches, and some women want to get pregnant. A few Romeos stand in front of the graves and ask for love. Others pray for the souls of the dead.Everyone has a wish at this Al Qaeda cemetery.
"I have an ache in my left leg," said Khanema, who like many Pashtuns has only one name. "I have a backache. Sometimes it hurts so much, I can't sleep. So I came here to pray to the martyrs. I came from Pakistan only for this shrine."
The men buried here at Martyrs shrine and another shrine nearby were killed in late 2001 during the U.S.-led war against the Taliban. On the second night of Ramadan, the fasting month for Muslims, U.S. forces bombed a mosque in the southeastern town of Khost. Dozens of Taliban and Al Qaeda members were killed.
The mosque has been rebuilt, light green and peach, with large windows and a sunlit prayer room. But the two shrines for the dead and another in eastern Afghanistan have turned into pilgrimage sites, almost tourist attractions featuring Al Qaeda dead.
Villagers sometimes travel for hours to go to these shrines to pray. They stop as they return home to Afghanistan from Pakistan, where they had been living as refugees. They visit every day, or once in a lifetime.
The shrines show the logic of some people in the new Afghanistan, particularly those in the south and southeast, where the influence of the Taliban and Al Qaeda has been strongest. Those who come here do not necessarily support terrorists. Many say they do not hate the Afghan government or the U.S. forces. They welcome the upcoming elections and do not want war.
But these people are often desperate, for whatever reason, and they believe the dead men might help them. The visitors call the dead "martyrs" and the U.S. forces who killed them "infidels." But they mean that in the nicest way. They see no contradiction.
"People love the shrine, and I love it," said Marjullah, the Martyrs caretaker, adding that he helped carry the bodies of the dead to the shrine. But he says he also likes the Afghan government. And he says the U.S. forces should stay as long as they help rebuild the country.
Making more martyrs looks like a good public service. I know a few Marines who were glad to help.
"And he says the U.S. forces should stay as long as they help rebuild the country."
--- from the article above
Of course. He visits the Al Qaeda cemetery, and agrees with the tenets of Islam, and considers us Infidels, but as the dim-witted reporter says, means to use that word "only in the nicest way."
And just as in Iraq, where everyone is happy to pick the pocket of earnest Uncle Sam, and on top of the water-treatment plants and power grids that get blown up and are yet again rebuilt by the Americans, and the hospitals repaired and stocked by the Americans, and the thousands of schoolrooms built by the Americans, and all the other things that are in the works, or planned, if only the locals would stop trying to kill the Americans, we would be happy to provide -- this Afghani too is content to have them stay, "as long as they rebuild the country."
We know why he wants us to stay. What's our reason? What's in it for us? Will Afghanistan become something other than Afghanistan? Cannot the warlords, without our presence but with our ability to supply weapons or air cover or rockets raining down, or unmanned drones, not able to handle Afghanistan themselves? Why should we do it? Why should we try to improve Afghanistan economically or in any other way, if it simply strengthens one more constituent member of the umma?
Why?
The most successful effort so far of the Americans in the Muslim world are the three places with which we have had the least to do. The first is Libya, which has voluntarily disarmed, out of fear of what we might have done. And Libya is desperate for American contact, American approval. The Italians, per contra, who have entered into a "dialogue" with Khaddafy to get him to stop the constant flow of North African would-be migrants, especially Egyptians, who use Libya as the place from which to attempt by sea to get into Italy, are finding that not only do they have to drag to Lampedusa a few boatloads of sullen Muslims who, if they were to land, would promptly blend into the Muslim communities and never be found again, and whose presence helps swell Muslim numbers and ultimately, helps to transform Italy, find that Khaddafy insists that in order to continue his "cooperation" he absolutely must have the Italians build, and for free, a coastal highway the entire length of Libya -- some 1,800 kilometers.
The second success story is Tunisia, only because we have so little to do with Tunisia. A police-state enforces the constraints on Islam that Bourguiba and his Destour Party imposed. Tunisia has no oil and gas. It exports olive oil and dates to Western countries; it relies as well on mass tourism from France and Italy and other European countries and this requires holding manifestations of Islam in check.
The third success story is Somalia -- precisely because it has, once the Americans left, dropped off the map. Let it stay there. It is a complete mess. No aid or attention from Infidels -- and look what Somalia, on its own, becomes. A useful example for other Muslim countries. Kill Americans, cause them to leave -- and this is what you end up with. Warlords, anarchy, nothing at all.
The "Somalia Solution" is always available. It may be the best way to constrain or limit Islam. Somalia is no threat to Americans or other Infidels now. More Somalias may be, from the Infidel point of view (which is the only viewpoint Infidels should care about) a good thing.
That damn jewish media!
....The visitors call the dead "martyrs" and the U.S. forces who killed them "infidels." But they mean that in the nicest way. ....
That is classic dhimmitude. I mean you can't make that up! ROTFLMAO
(rolling on the floor laughing my ass off)
I am sure that the US State Department is the one that paid for the rebuilding of the mosque, or should I say the American taxpayers.
Of course these guys want our money in their country, just not our presence. As long as Pakistan, our good ol'buddy, is allowed to create, harbor, and provide terrorist this will continue.
Hugh, that are excellent observations on Libya, Tunisia and Somalia. Didn't know that dhimmi Italy is giving the "Dane" Ghaddafy his gold. It so reminds of Rudyard Kipling's brilliant summary of another forgotten time in the history of war that is so current to our own government's foolishness.
Dane-geld
(A.D. 980-1016)
Rudyard Kipling
IT IS always a temptation to an armed and agile nation,
To call upon a neighbour and to say:—
“We invaded you last night—we are quite prepared to fight,
Unless you pay us cash to go away.”
And that is called asking for Dane-geld,
And the people who ask it explain
That you’ve only to pay ’em the Dane-geld
And then you’ll get rid of the Dane!
It is always a temptation to a rich and lazy nation,
To puff and look important and to say:—
“Though we know we should defeat you, we have not the time to meet you.
We will therefore pay you cash to go away.”
And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But we’ve proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.
It is wrong to put temptation in the path of any nation,
For fear they should succumb and go astray,
So when you are requested to pay up or be molested,
You will find it better policy to says:—
“We never pay any one Dane-geld,
No matter how trifling the cost,
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
And the nation that plays it is lost!”
Kipling is good for that sort of ringing statement. This is my favourite; I think I quoted it before.
All we have of freedom, all we use or know—
This our fathers bought for us long and long ago.
Ancient Right unnoticed as the breath we draw—
Leave to live by no man’s leave, underneath the Law.
Lance and torch and tumult, steel and grey-goose wing
Wrenched it, inch and ell and all, slowly from the King.
Till our fathers ’stablished, after bloody years,
How our King is one with us, first among his peers.
So they bought us freedom—not at little cost
Wherefore must we watch the King, lest our gain be lost,
Over all things certain, this is sure indeed,
Suffer not the old King: for we know the breed.
Give no ear to bondsmen bidding us endure.
Whining “He is weak and far”; crying “Time shall cure.”,
(Time himself is witness, till the battle joins,
Deeper strikes the rottenness in the people’s loins.)
Give no heed to bondsmen masking war with peace.
Suffer not the old King here or overseas.
They that beg us barter—wait his yielding mood—
Pledge the years we hold in trust—pawn our brother’s blood—
Howso’ great their clamour, whatsoe’er their claim,
Suffer not the old King under any name!
Here is naught unproven—here is naught to learn.
It is written what shall fall if the King return.
He shall mark our goings, question whence we came,
Set his guards about us, as in Freedom’s name.
He shall take a tribute, toll of all our ware;
He shall change our gold for arms—arms we may not bear.
He shall break his judges if they cross his word;
He shall rule above the Law calling on the Lord.
He shall peep and mutter; and the night shall bring
Watchers ’neath our window, lest we mock the King—
Hate and all division; hosts of hurrying spies;
Money poured in secret, carrion breeding flies.
Strangers of his counsel, hirelings of his pay,
These shall deal our Justice: sell—deny—delay.
We shall drink dishonour, we shall eat abuse
For the Land we look to—for the Tongue we use.
We shall take our station, dirt beneath his feet,
While his hired captains jeer us in the street.
Cruel in the shadow, crafty in the sun,
Far beyond his borders shall his teachings run.
Sloven, sullen, savage, secret, uncontrolled,
Laying on a new land evil of the old—
Long-forgotten bondage, dwarfing heart and brain—
All our fathers died to loose he shall bind again.
Here is naught at venture, random nor untrue—
Swings the wheel full-circle, brims the cup anew.
Here is naught unproven, here is nothing hid:
Step for step and word for word—so the old Kings did!
Step by step, and word by word: who is ruled may read.
Suffer not the old Kings: for we know the breed—
All the right they promise—all the wrong they bring.
Stewards of the Judgment, suffer not this King!
A 'thank you note' for these people:
Find a dead Al-Qaeda fighter's body and prop its eyes open (super glue). Place it in the driver's seat of a car. Use fishing line (invisible from a distance)to tie the hands of the former Al-Qaeda member to the steering wheel.
Rig up this vehicle to run by remote control.
Pack it with semtex (400 lbs.)
Wait until everyone has left the mosque for the day.
Fortuitously film the "Al-Qaeda terrorist blowing himself up and destroying the mosque".
Make sure the Al-Qaeda bomber's "manifesto" is found (scattered loose pages in the street) "censuring the local people for their superstitious idolatry" in "asking martyrs to do what is only allowed to be petitioned of Allah, Himself", and blaming the destruction of the mosque on their "sin", -justified with a relevant Koranic sura "against icons".
Do not rebuild the mosque.
(One more martyr they can thank.)
I still would like to see someone seriously discuss these issues on primetime tv, o'reilly or something. I feel like the people here see this foolishness so clearly, but no one in our government does.
Who is educating our top government officers about Islam? Can these people (Rice, Bush, Cheney) not have contact with anyone who sees Islam for what it has been, what it is, and apparently, what it will always be - a cult, no way out for its converts, no questioning of its sacred texts, blind obedience, its imperialistic intentions. i just don't get it. Is this nation truly led by idiots?
Is there not an antidhimmi among them with some self initiated research and study of the 'real' Islamic theology and its history. I did it solely on the web since 9/11 and it was not hard at all to get the real picture. Or do they solely rely on the well entrenched 'dhimmi' Islamic apologists with their whitewashed opinions.
As I have said before, it's pretty gloomy. I am not following these idiots into dhimmitude but the media and the multiculturalists cling to the car, whispering sweet Islamic nothings into our leader's ear. "Harmony with Islam is just over that hill. Trust me."
One of the traits of Islam is persistence, and working every weakness of its enemies. Sometimes I have to rub my eyes when I see the actions of my government and the MSM. I see our government consistently and constantly incorporating dhimmi rules and restrictions in the name of 'religious tolerance', 'religious freedom', 'multicultural acceptance', yada yada yada.
I laugh at our government for its absurdity, but am also dismayed by the stupidity of our elected leaders. Do they ever crack a book? Do they ever go to Amazon and just do a search on Islam. Sure they would see the dhimmi 'Islam apoligists' books that their dhimmi Islam expert recommended, but they would also see other books by Robert, Bat, etc. and say to themselves "Hmmm. let me get this one too."
I guess not.
Talking to dead people is called necromancy.
Dictionary.com
"The practice of supposedly communicating with the spirits of the dead in order to predict the future.
Black magic; sorcery.
Magic qualities".
Did anyone notify Allah that this was going on?
Allah is not going to be happy. He allows no outside contact with people in the fire, and his warriors and their virgins in heaven, are not to be disturbed. So if these muslims are talking to the dead, Allah did not authorize it. So who did?
Iblis of course, who else is interested in black magic. Allahs punishment will be severe...it always is...
reset asked,
The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University is where the elite larvae of the State Department's drones are hatched. It is like a four year prep school for the FSO exam. A leading exponent of the SFS faculty is none other than John Esposito, a model dhimmi if there ever was one.
Now you know.
Here is where the State Department gets its authoritative information on Islam: Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding.
It is certain that the curriculum does not include the actual Islamic canon (Koran, haditha, Sira). Reading those would impart a very different "understanding" from that propagandized by the CMCU. We wouldn't want to pollute the minds of our impressionable FSOs with the truth about Islam, now would we?

Oh my God. We are doomed! A superdhimmi in charge of indoctrination. Can it get any better than that. When Condi did that ridiculous apology where she ooohed and aaaahed over the 'holy' Koran, I kept thinking, "Who is advising her? Who is this foolish woman seeking out for advice on Islam?" My opinion of Condi plummeted to the basement (it never was that high anyway), and now I know why. I guess she is too busy practicing on the piano to do her own investigation or read contrary books about Islam. I mean Bush is just not a reader. I was hoping Condi would be the independent thinker and question the dhimmi Islamic 'experts' who surround her. She would then help Bush to understand the 'big picture.' That is not to be.
Oh one more thing! Why is our government so obsessed with wanting the Muslims to like us? It makes me want to hurl, it is so appalling.
