Ah, Muslims, those sensitive flowers. From the News Journal, with thanks to Nicolei:
A mother of three schoolgirls has filed a federal lawsuit against the Cape Henlopen School District, claiming school officials were disrespectful of their Islamic faith and didn't stop harassment by other students. The lawsuit, made public Friday in U.S. District Court in Wilmington, accuses a teacher at Shields Elementary School in Lewes of equating Muslims to terrorists while instructing a fourth-grade class last school year.
"During the course of that lesson, students were told 'Muslims believe the Koran teaches war and hatred'; 'Muslims believe that people who do not practice Islam are evil,' " the lawsuit said.
Yep, pretty inflammatory stuff. Of course Muslims don't believe that sort of thing, do they? Hmmm...Well, there was that fellow who wrote to me that "I want you to know that I hate you for the sake of Allaah and I make du'a for your destruction." And there was that Al-Muhajiroun seminar, "The Obligation of Inciting Religious Hatred."
But does the Qur'an teach war and hatred? Well, there is Qur'an 9:5: "Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush." There are also over 100 other verses counseling jihad in various ways. And hatred? Well, Allah hates the unbelievers: "He it is That has made you inheritors in the earth: if, then, any do reject (Allah), their rejection (works) against themselves: their rejection but adds to the odium for the Unbelievers in the sight of their Lord: their rejection but adds to (their own) undoing" (Qur'an 35:39). And they are vile, those unbelievers, even if they are among the "People of the Book" (Jews and Christians): "Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures" (Qur'an 98:6). Do Muslims believe that those who don't practice Islam are evil? They do if they believe what the Qur'an says: how could "the worst of creatures" not be evil?
So once again it seems as if telling the truth about what at least Qur'an-believing Muslims believe is to be forbidden by Muslims in American schools.
The suit also alleges that the girl was denied equal time, and that her classmates teased her (which is a shame if it happened, but hardly uncommon in primary school, or grounds for a lawsuit) -- and it calls for the adoption of various dhimmi regulations:
School officials are accused of refusing to allow the girl in that class to explain Islam to her schoolmates, even though the teacher had discussed Christian symbols during Christmas."[When] it was suggested by the parent, that her daughter ... would make a balanced presentation explaining the Muslim religion to the classroom, to boost her self-esteem, it was expressed that such an action would be inappropriate, in that it would 'open a can of worms,' " the lawsuit alleges....
The lawsuit charges the district and its employees with failing to provide the students with equal protection for expression of their religious beliefs and due process to deal with the harassment that followed from fellow students.
One girl allegedly faced taunts such as "no loser Muslims allowed." Another of the girls was told she was ugly and had an ugly name.
The defendants also are accused of giving preference to Christian beliefs over Islamic beliefs in violation of the Constitution and retaliating against the family for exercising its right to practice its religion.
The case claims the fourth-grade girl was transferred to another teacher's class following her mother's complaints about the alleged anti-Islamic practices.
The mother and daughters are asking the court for monetary damages to cover their pain and suffering and to punish the district. They also want the court to order the district to:
•Develop policies to prevent intolerance and guide administrators on dealing with student complaints about harassment related to religious beliefs and social background.
•Implement mandatory training for faculty and staff on religious and cultural diversity.
•Keep statistics on racial discrimination and harassment complaints by students and the action taken to resolve them.
The lawsuit alleges the teachers' action, along with her supervisors' failure to stop it, made the fourth-grade girl so depressed that a therapist recommended she stay home from school and get tutoring.
But the lawsuit alleges even that option didn't work well because the instructor, approved by the district, continued to discuss ethnic hatreds and religious wars, despite the therapist cautioning against it. Another tutor was eventually sent to the family's house, but not for as much time as the family expected.
Let me guess who is supporting this poor poor Muslim - CAIR.
Just remember what happened in Australia to Danny Naliah....all he did was tell the truth about Islam and now he faces jail time....I predict this school district will cave like a spineless plate of Jello.
Great!
This is another opportunity to educate the public about the hate-infested Islam. To show the nation what this ROP really teaches.
We should support the teachers, school, and district in whatever way we can. Start a media campaign? The publicity cuts both ways.
I would think Defense just needs to open up the Qur'an and read it - show the court what the muslims say about themselves. Nothing to add, your Honor.
This looks like an attempt to:
1) Get big bucks for the family.
2) Pull her out of the evil boy/girl school mix.
3) Keep her from learning the truth.
4) Have taxpayers fund her Islamic home schooling.
Many of these Muslim immigrant interlopers (invaders) are money grubbers, they don't make too much money. They answer is to file a lawsuit. Get some scumbag lawyer and judge to help you on your way to financial freedom
The tragedy is that our politicians did not anticipate what the likely reactions of non-Muslims to Muslims in their midst would be once they discovered the truth about what Islam is all about.
Did they really believe that the facts could be hidden from everyone for ever? I don't think that before 9/11 they were really worrying about there being much curiosity about what Islam instructs other than its well known rituals.
This is why post-9/11 they have been bringing in legislation to gag those who are in the know.
The best reaction of those students towards that Muslim girl would have been to show her how much greater our faith is than hers and to have invited her to join us.
PRCS - Add this to your list.
5) Begin a movement against religious "vilification" such as those that have taken home in the U.K., parts of Europe, Canada, and the state of Victoria, Australia.
The United States might want to seem out of step on this one. (At least America's Muslims want it that way!)
We must be very vigilant. Muslims are making more and more demands for religious accommodation and taking everything as a slight.
No nation has the obligation to maintain the culture of aliens, entrants, or immigrants living within its borders. Those that don't find the United States to be suitable for their cultural needs should remove themselves to state that does meet their cultural needs.
The teacher was not too well-advised in their choice of language, since even mentioning the Koran, without the correct context, invites this type of nonsense.
Just report the declared intentions of the jihadists, in their own inflammatory Allah-invoking, Koran-quoting words, don't interpret the religious motivations on your own. That was the teacher's mistake.
Don't say what you, as a teacher, think (grounds for a 'defamation' claim, as most religious debates in schools are prone to) just tell what the facts of the story are.
There's plenty to quote.
And if the Muslim students have counter-arguments, let them bring up their facts.
All of the counter-balancing quotes from those 'moderate' Muslims who condemn terrorism.
And all of those 50 Muslims who marched on D.C. two months ago in favor of peace and against the Islamic jihadists.
You have to duel cleverly, or you fall into their easily-sidestepped legalistic traps.
(CAIR is like a sticky flypaper strip for such naive opponents.)
Fight the smart fight.
The argument that the school has 'retaliated against the family for practicing their religion' seems quite true. Da'wa, the Call to Islam, proselytizing, is a religious obligation, and Jihad, 'fighting in the way of Allah', is an obligation as well against those who put obstacles against the spread of Islam.
At the very least school officials appear guilty of denying the practice of da'wa, and hence, are guilty of 'retaliating' against the family for the practice of their religion. And, of course, this resistance to the message of the Prophet deserves some level of jihad; it is obliged on Islamic principles. Hence, the lawsuit.
Of course, the principles and obligations in question concern the practice of Islam itself. All this concern with the 'self esteem' of this poor child are nonsense. As far as the child is concerned what is this lawsuit intended to teach? Is it inteneded to help her cope, help her grow up as a responsible, proactive American citizen, her head held high? Or, is the lawsuit intended to teach her how to 'fight in the way of Allah' and stay true to the tenents of her faith no matter what?
I SENT THIS TO THE NEWSPAPER "REPORTER"
I am always interested in the interest in Islam and the Quran by media types but find myself wondering what happened to Investigative reporting..
You are in a unique position to follow up you story with clarification on what Islam’s Holy Scripture says.
Does it call for the subjugation and eradication of all non Muslims or is that horrible slander propagated “islamophobes”
Really there is only one way to no for sure that is to read them yourself..
I once believed as I was told that Islam had been hijacked and twisted .I was waiting for a detailed description as to the nature and manner of this hijacking ,It was not forthcoming
Out of respected for islam I decided to study islam so I could back up their claims and counter scurrilous bigoted attacks.
I spent over a year full time reading all I could the Quran several translation thousands of hadith the earliest biography available of the prophets life.
In the end I could no longer deny the facts Islam had not been hijacked or twisted the 9/11 attacks where acts of piety committed by devout Muslims following the Quran literally.
At which point I could no longer remain silent .
I would have hoped I would have spoken out against Hitler had I found Mien Kampf before WWII.
I have met tremendous resistance to even looking at what the books actually say people are unwilling to learn any suggestion that some ideas are not like others is met with cries of bigotry and hatemongering
Claims of bigotry and hatemongering are insufficient in the face of the call for genocide and subjugation of the entire world in the Quran.
There may be moderate Muslims but that is irrelevant it does not change what is in the Quran one dot or squiggle
What do the actions of a billion people have to do with what is in the Koran and the Hadiths?
Do all Buddhists reach nirvana as is taught by their faith?
Do all Christians become saints?
The shaheed (martyr) is the highest of high in Islam in the eyes of Allah. Just because not all Muslims are muhajadeen does not change the fact that jihad is an intrinsic part of the religion.
So I hope this reaches you ion good health and inspires you to look into Islam and learn and disseminate your findings to your faithful readers.
I would hope you would at least teach them about Dhimmitude and taqiyya.
Here a couple of links to help you get started,
having been where you are I know it is hard to get your feet underneath
yourself with out some direction..
Some people don’t even know what the scripture is called or where to start
Of course you can always go to C.A.I.R. and learn what islam is from them rather than going to the scripture why would they lie? How would you know if they were?

KAOSKTRL,
After 9/11 I did a lot of my own research and came to the same conclusions you did. Islam is the problem.
You might find the following interesting:

Arrrr! The joys of indescriminate multi culturalism! Lets all change our culture to suit the Muzzies.
I don't suppose there is any way to elevate this teacher to write the National cirriculum for Social Engineering.....er.....that's Social Science?
I can't believe you people are supporting this teacher's actions. A fourth grade classroom is no place for statements like that, it brainwashes impressionable young children into seeing all Muslims as evil. Even those of you who think Islam teaches violence and hatred seem to agree that not all Muslims feel that way. Young kids can't make that distinction. You should be against anti-Muslim statements in the classroom in the same way that you're against anti-Jewish or anti-Christian statements in Muslim country classrooms.
As far as whether the claims themselves are true, I don't think they are. Citing an individual writing a hate letter and the title of a conference that occurred more than a year ago are pretty weak evidence. The Quran quotes are also taken out of context. Just to take the first one - Qur'an 9:5: "Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush." - the verses before and after show that this command is for those idolaters who break a treaty of peace. Also, it is clearly said that if they relent, to let them go. There are hundreds of verses in the Quran that enjoin respect for other religions.
Even if you choose to wilfully ignore the context of certain verses in the Quran, it's undeniable that the vast majority of Muslims do not see non-Muslims as evil. There are only possible explanations for this - they are misinterpreting their own scripture, which somehow you people can correctly interpret, or they are interpreting it correctly as not fostering hate. In either case, it is a false statement to say that "Muslims believe that people who do not practice Islam are evil"
Many of you seem to believe in a vast conspiracy of evil Muslims infiltrating the country. Just think for a second how absurd that is. You can't have a conspiracy of millions of people who somehow are able to keep their true aim a secret.
Finally, some people are starting to realize exactly what is in the koran and are ignoring the "taken out of context" nonsense.
