While Sajidah sympathised with the victims of 9/11, she says that when Muslims are killed - such as those during the war and continuing strife in Iraq - there are no candlelight vigils or stirring speeches about punishing the perpetrators.
The comfortable middle ground is eroding as Muslims are asked to either accept the 'war on terror' and deny their heritage or become radicalised and condemned as 'terrorists'...

I think you put it well yourself. It is difficult to believe that anyone watching this would come away with any impression other than a bad one, although peoples capacity for stupidity and dhimmi cringing is constant and persistent, so you never know.
I was just thinking whilst watching it, that if Chris Morris was ever to do an episode of Brass Eye on this subject this would be it. (Interested’s point about the use of music was an example of this). As Granny Weatherwax so eloquently said, when you are in a hole, stop digging. All the colours of fanatacism, misogynistic rapture, self-pitying victimhood, arrogant religiosity, rumbling anti-semitism, two-faced taqiyya, were all on open display, brought to us on prime time by the mandarins of the BBC. What the programme showed is the complete lack of self awareness that the Muslims featured possessed, completely blind to themselves, how they appear, completely without any sense of critical self-awareness or knowledge, just a rote of spite, bile and that heady and bitter sour wail derived from a most potent blend of and extremist ideology of superiority complex and a truly frightening low self-esteem problem.

God bless the British Broadcasting Corporation. I have thought for a while back that most Muslims are incapable of hiding the true nature of their bigotry and intolerance and hatred, that they will always end up cutting their own throat (whoops! Islamophobic analogy. Sorry!) and this programme was a prime example of that. At certain points, it became a kind of black comedy. On the one had complaining about how they are seen as intolerant, hateful and fanatics, on the other full of piss and vinegar about ‘the Zionists’ and the non Muslim sluts of Britain how Bin Laden is a sensitive and misunderstood man, and how America had it coming on 9/11. For many Muslims, I think 9/11 was like a sexual release and rapture.
Anyway, the BBC types will be hanging their head in shame for the crime of being a kaffir, and they believe that the entire British nation should do so too and hence the latest finger wagging dawah lecture from the Madrassa production unit of the BBC. It really is a propaganda house for Islam. Expect another prime-time documentary in about three months of the same nature, along with Rageh Omaar’s Islamic History of Britain, to inform us that we are scum, and Islam is the truth, and peace, and everything, and you better bow your heads and agree, or else you will get another stern lecture (and warning, always the threat of violence that tinges every prediction and observation about what the future for Muslims in Britain holds if they do not get their way, even from the ‘moderates’, the fish & chip eating people just like you and me) from the BBC and the brightest and best of our Muslim community, the hectoring bigots and religious fanatics that at best temper their hatred and demand for submission long enough for the Tarquin’s and Charles’s and Mohammed Iqbal’s from the BBC Madrassa production unit to pack up their cameras and sound equipment and go.

But if the Englsh government, like the French and Dutch and Swedish governments, spends taxpayers' money on "integrating" its Muslims, making them more fluent in the language, better able to suavely phrase their arguments and hide their real feelings -- in the Tariq Ramadan manner -- the governments in this vain hope of "integration" of Muslims will be, in a sense, setting for the Muslims, and paying for them to attend, their very own version of K.G.B. spy schools where they can become ever more adept at dealing with Infidel interviewers and audiences.
Is that what Infidels want to pay for? Cleverer and better prepared Muslims -- who right now, in this country, have all sorts of courses on how to present Islam and Muslims (go on-line, they are all over the place). And they don't mean present Islam and Muslims by telling the truth.
This proves what most thinking people already knew - that many Muslims secretly approve of Islamic terrorism.

One more thing.
The very fact of having a series with the intended-to-be-warmheartedly and reassuringly comical title "Don't Panic I'm Islamic" reduces real fears to some sort of joke.
The mere fact of such a title, in a series, will be a way to mock those who continue to warn, and who try, with mixed success, to alert others to a real problem. Because, you see, you should panic -- that's exactly what you should do, as you see so many people use every possible mental and verbal escape to avoid seeing what is staring them in the face -- the menace of Islam, a menace the Western world allowed to grow, to flourish, and now to exist, in the form of millions of Believes, right behind what are, for Believers, enemy lines. It is the most extraordinary situation, one without precedent in human history. And we will pay for it. The question is: can we do things to minimize that payment, that anguish, that suffering, that need never have occurred at all, or are we doomed to suffer some kind of all-out conflict.
If we use our wits, we can avoid that all-out conflict. But it requires self-education, educating others, and then hardening one's mind and heart sufficiently, and throwing out all the pieties of the age about "diversity" and "tolerance" and so on. They were phony to begin with.
Sajidah doesn't seem to care that when Muslims were being slaughtered by sadaam by the thousands, the Arab street wasn't holding candlelight vigils or making stirring speeches about punishing the perpetrators, either.
Someone explain to me why it's ok for the West in general, the U.S. in particular, to be condemned for not doing something for a people who aren't willing to do it for themselves.

The media in general is doing everything to avoid a critical look at Islam. In a less perilous time, it would say something great about Western Civilization. Any other readers of the International Tribune? Today's cover, perhaps also in the New York Times, has the article, "A dangerous act of love." The dangerous act is the love marriage of Nadie and Shahzad. It seems the relatives disapprove of their marriage and perhaps Naida's relatives will express their displeasure by murdering the young couple. Yet, scan this article and you will find no mention of Islam or even the supposed distinction of radical Islam. The carry over page had the bold excerpt; "Marriage in a conservative society like Pakistan is not just about two individuals." No, "marriage in a Muslim society is not just about two individuals" and transgressing in any aspect of Muslim societies can be deadly. Marriage to a non-Jew or non-Amish in an Amish or conservative or orthodox Jewish world might mean excommunication but murder? Why is the Western media on this quest for moral equivilency? Now conservative societies are to blame? It should all be a good laugh, but it is deadlu serious. Pun intended.
I find the title of the program curious. "Don't Panic, I'm Islamic." Although I would never think of correcting the venerable BBC, I think a more appropriate title might be, "Don't Panic, I'm Muslim." I use Islamic as an adjective, ie Islamic country, Islamic dress, rather than to describe a person by identification with a religion. But, not having seen the show, Islamic could have been part of a perfect title in that the people interviewed regarded themselves more as adjectives, without individualism and personhood.

The International Herald Tribune has in the last few years gone from being a decent paper (and once one of the best in the world) to a terrible paper, with an editorial slant, and choice and phrasing of articles, that even outdoes the worst American papers. It is anti-American in its presenation and choice of opinion writers, and of course it is distinctly chilly toward Israel as well. And both strains connect both to one another and to the absurdly apologetic coverage of Islam.
One wonders who on the staff, or what combination of people -- for it always comes down to particular people, not to some anonymous "force" -- is behind this. My own guess would be David Ignatius, who I thinkh has taken his poison back to the Washington Post, or possibly Serge Schmemann, whose dispatches when he was in Israel reveal someone quite different from his father, the distinguished Russian Orthodox bishop, once head of St. Vladimir's Seminary (if memory serves), and someone whose political views were distinctly more sensible. But perhaps I have guessed wrong -- any readers out there, from Lapland to Villefranche-sur-mer, who still read the damn thing and have some ideas on where it went wrong, and whether or not the paper -- bought by Americans truly starving for American-style news, though with Internet connections they need not bother quite so much to swell the coffers of this anti-American newspaper. A determined refusal to buy copies of the paper would be salutary. Unless of course it decides to return to sanity.

Threat assessment in the average human makes me question Darwinian evolution. But as you said, this threat is without precedent in human history.
We're fighting a medieval foe which somehow wins most of the legal and PR battles in the United States. Hiding behind religion (a "protected class"), smooth talking points, and a cult of victimization, the modern Saracens utilize the Internet and compliant (promiscuous?) media better than their foes. Tearing a book brings more media criticism than beheading a civilian worker.
We are the generations which must adapt and fight back, or go shopping for the fastest donkey and sporty cloth belts. We underestimate the enemy at our peril. Look at Michigan, the UK, France, Sweden, or Spain.
Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-MI) is fully in the pocket of the Muslims in his district. Labour cannot push the blasphemy law hard enough to satisfy the always-pushy Muslim community. France plans to teach Islam to their imams. Sweden is in deep denial, unable to even acknowledge a problem. Spain, of course, is lining up to be conquered first.

The invasion is about co-opting the goods and human capital of others, of overrunning countries, creating an underclass of the indigenous populations, of making Islam triumphant and subduing and humiliating everyone else. Right. Terrorism is one instrument of Jihad, but not the most effective. Da'wa and demographic conquest from within are far more dangerous, and it will require a change in mental makeup for the Infidels, whose rulers have foolishly allowed Muslims in large numbers to settle within their lands, behind enemy lines (creating a situation unprecedented in human history, and one which everyone is pretending is not what it is, because they lack the wit and imagination to figure out how to deal with this situation, but it can be dealt with, in ways that may not require mass expulsions. After World War II, the Czechs did not hesitate to expel 3 million ethnic Germans, the so-called Sudeteners (as their leader, Heinlein, had taught them to call themselves, on Hitler's advice -- Hitler, who ranted about the "legiimate rights of the Sudeteners" in the same speeches in which he also mentioned the "Arabs of Palestine" for whom he had such apparent concern). Those Germans had lived in the Sudetenland for 600 years. Too bad. Most of those Sudeten Germans had sympathized with, and collaborated with, the Nazis. That part of Czechoslovakia had bristled with fortifications, the Skoda Works, the defenses of the Vistula. But the Sudeten Germans, beginning in early 1938, staged riots and demonsrations that they knew would be put down by Czech police, some on horseback. They knew those photographs would be in the French and English papers. They knew they could depict the Czechs as arrogant overlords (shades of the world press in the West Bank). They knew that the careful explanations by the Czech government of the mortal threat it faced if it gave up the Sudetenland, which was the very part that bristled with Czech fortifications, would render the country indefensible against Hitler (for those who read Russian, see "Stikhi k Chekham" by Marina Tsvetaeva, and especially that poem about "Dvadtsat' soldat, odin ofitser"). The Czechs protested.
In vain. Daladier and Chamberlain were set on appeasement. Those terrible, overbearing Czechs, suppressing those pitiful Sudeteners, who only wanted their "legitimate rights" -- their rights to be free (i.e., to promtply join the rest of Deutschtum, just as the "Palestinians," that conveniently-invented "people," are simply the shock troops of the Jihad). The rest is history -- the history known as World War II.
No, it is not only, and not mainly, Islamic "terrorism" that is the threat, but the slow and steady takeover, simply through numbers, that can do the trick where military force can not. But this can only be recognized by those who are willing to study, and re-study, and study even more, the doctrines of Islam, and the history of Islamic conquest and subjugation of non-Muslims, and the persistence and immutability of those teachings, those attitudes, those atmospherics that make even the most "moderate" of Muslims essentially part of the problem, for we do not know when, and why, such a "moderate" may change, or when, or why, his progeny may do so.
We cannot bet our own civilization on some concocted and mostlly exaggerated notion of "moderate" Islam. The stakes are too high for mistakes, for feelgood niceness, for assuming the best in everyone, for refusing to believe that those who make the most terrible threats and plans really do mean it.
Again, see the history of World War II -- not the war itself, but the run-up to that war.
A lesson, or perhaps as Omid Safi's student would write, a lesson plan, for all of us.

Why do you believe this it true for GB? In the US after 9/11, there wasn't really anything like this in of any significance. If the Muslims blow up Parliament and kill a a bunch of politicians be too much atroricty, after all they are only politicians. (just kidding) Now blow up the tubes and kill hundreds of civilians, that may piss the citizens off
Deal with the Devil will protect you. As Bat Ye'or points out, the EU elite made a deal with the Muslims - come to our lands, practice your religion and in return, you won't blow us up. Of course, as the EU is finally learning (I think), deals between Muslims and infidels have no meaning, at least for the Muslims. They always use 'deals' to conspire and gather strength for their next jihad offensive.
Until the West grasps what we are up against, Militant Islam will continue to make progress toward destroying us.
If a majority realized what was going on, this could be stopped quickly, but we need courage and stomach to do this.
