Mr Bush, democracy will never work in Muslim countries. If you apply free election system in the Middle East, you will get Iranian Middle East and more pressure and persecution will be on Christians there. Middle East needs non-Islamist dectators.
If you hit Muslims hard on their heade, they will respect you. If you respect them and give them freedom, they will eat you. Ask and examine their history.

Yes, it will work, but as the poster above, it will not work in the way that the Bush Administration and other hopelessly and apparently imperviously naive Infidels think it will.
They think that Muslims, including members of Hamas, Hezbollah, Lashkar-Taiba, Laskar Jihad, and a few thousand other groups and groupuscules (or no labelled groups at all -- just a lone Muslim, bent on seeing Muslim justice done), will be so many Cinncinnatuses, putting down their weapons, and returning the plow.
Or, to put it otherwise, they will find they are so busy "fixing potholes" --- the Fixing Potholes Theory, something concocted by those who do not understand, or take seriously, or have any idea how deeply it pervades the minds, attitudes, atmospherics, societies of Muslim lands, and even of seemingly relaxed and unobservant Muslims in the West (unless those "relaxed" and "unobservant" Muslims make the final leap, and slough off Islam altogether) of dealing with the Muslim menace. But all the potholes are fixed in the most dangerous, because the most powerful through its wealth, Muslim country -- Saudi Arabia. And in Iran, when that mad Mullah, though one who was a learned theologian and never uttered a word, or passed a law, or gave a command that was not part of orthodox, mainstream Shia Islam (though some Iranians, such as Amir Taheri and Aziz Nafisi, may wish to pretend otherwise to themselves and to others -- filial piety and civilizational embarrassment kick in rather quickly).
