MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Despite the massive federal, state and local law enforcement effort to stop terrorists from entering the United States, there is no strong evidence of how well it is working.Many experts are concerned that there are plenty of terrorists or sympathizers already in the country who have been here for years. Some are even citizens.
The Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were the first wave and now the increasing number of arrests seems to signal a second wave of terrorism in South Florida.
Boca Raton physician Rafik Sabir is accused of conspiring to help al-Qaida. If this is true, terrorism analysts such as Walid Phares fear there is a second wave of al-Qaida terrorists operating in South Florida.
"The first wave that did 9/11 had a presence here. Between 9/11 and most recently, there have been many arrests in South Florida and Florida as a whole of elements who are allegedly involved," Phares said.
Since Sept. 11, 2001, the Miami FBI has investigated and apprehended dozens of al-Qaida suspects up and down the Gold Coast.
"Al-Qaida has had a presence in South Florida and continues to have a presence," terrorism analyst Steve Emerson said.
Without doing an archive search,I thought that a higher up mucky muck said that there where no more terror cells in the US several months ago. What is the definition of a terror cell anyway? I find it difficult to believe that these Al-Qaeda operatives are operating alone and not in tandom with other Al-Qaeda sympathizers.

We hear about all the massive efforts to protect our borders, and then we hear Our Leader calling the Minutemen Project participants "vigilantes," and just this morning, while trying to wake up, I heard a report on the radio about someone in one of the southwestern states who is trying to get a ban on any efforts to stop illegals who are crossing the border there. I think it was in the area where the Minutemen Project was active. I sure wish I could remember the details; maybe someone who is a lot better than I am on researching the 'net could find out about it.
Better yet, maybe someone can figure out why Our Leader dislikes the idea of border integrity so much.

The full quote is from Benjamin Franklin, who said this: "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."
So, as usual, Islam gets it wrong.
Two wolves, in Franklin's view, represented the government, while the well-armed lamb represented the citizens. That, and not hunting, is why our Constitution protects our right to bare arms.
Oops--right to "BEAR" arms. But I guess we have a right to "bare" arms, too, Islamic rules for women notwithstanding.

U.S. Border Patrol agents find themselves on defense against an onslaught of illegal alien traffic in the Tucson area with assaults on officers up 50 percent over last year.
Agents in the Tucson sector are patrolling a total of 261 miles of border, but some are forced to do it from the confines of cages, according to a report on KVOA-TV in Tucson. The special vehicles are called "war wagons" – designed to protect against rocks and boulders thrown by smugglers of illegal aliens.
But the metal caging isn't protecting the agents from a new problem.
"When our agents try to do a vehicle stop, the criminal element try to run over our agents to evade arrest," says agent Jose Garza.
So far this fiscal year, the Tucson sector of the Border Patrol has reported 163 acts of assault against agents, compared to a total of 118 for the entire fiscal year of 2004.

Good grief. This was another thing I heard while half asleep--thanks for the copy, Catherine.
Isn't it incredible? And yet, the illegals continue to cross the border like an unending stream of army ants. Unending. Tromp, tromp, tromp... I wonder if it will improve if any of our border agents get killed.
There just has to be some sort of agenda going on here. There just has to be.
