OSLO, June 9 (AFP) - 19h59 - Mullah Krekar, the founder of radical Islamist group Ansar al-Islam who is fighting an expulsion order from Norway, on Thursday reiterated his praise for Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, calling him "a jewel" of Islam, media reported."I do not deny that I have said that Osama bin Laden is a jewel among the imams of Islam. He is faithful to the religion," Krekar told an Oslo court, Norwegian news agency NTB reported, as he tries to prove that he presents no threat to Norway.
Norwegian authorities decided in February 2003 to expel Krekar, whose real name is Fateh Najmeddin Faraj, due to national security concerns, but his deportation was suspended until the situation in Iraq improves.

Norway is stuck with him as the situation in Iraq will never "improve." They now need to find a way to neutralize his rhetoric.
There is a strange pathology among that kind of nordic, post-Lutheran left. I had occasion to observe it at close quarters when I was briefly a close friend of a female Norwegian intellectual in her early thirties. This woman had the most f***ed-up life I have ever come across, practically no family to speak of, an extremely abusive long-term relationship with a man who had eventually got himself knifed to death in a brawl, and who she could not bring herself to speak of except with hatred; she was bringing up a young child on her own, was unemployed (in spite of considerable talent) and had clearly suffered from what might be called the Scandinavian idea of life. You would think that this would lead this person, who was actually quite intelligent and talented (and witty), to question her leftish and PC attitude. To the contrary. She and people like her have this in common with Mr.Spencer's account of Muslims, that the worse things go, the more they feel compelled to apply their ideology rigorously. Our friendship foundered on the fact that she found my Catholicism offensive and would not even consider questioning her Scandinavian pieties. This, much more even that the massive impact of immigration, is what worries me about Scandinavian countries, and to a lesser extent about the Netherlands. There is a saying in Italy that you cannot reason with a German, but you can give him orders; in the case of Scandinavians, neither is possible. They will cling to their PC obsessions till they destroy them.
Mullah Krekar = Muslim Kracker
In present-day Kurdistan, from whence he arrived to Infidel Norway (where the Christian pastor who heads the main Christian Party is now under armed guard after death threats from Musllims) he will find a fitting welcome. Don't deny him, or us, the pleasure.
It is so pathetic. How did the lands of the Vikings, some of the toughest people that ever lived become the home of such gutless worms?
Don't the Iraqis now have judges, courts and prisons of their own?
If so, time for Krekar to go. (In every sense of the word.)
It is at times like these that I believe that fire must be fought with fire. People that promote terrorism - directly or indirectly - should be "silenced". Period.
