Iran: President-elect renews allegiance with Imam Khomeini

Anybody still fooled by this guy? From the Islamic Republic News Agency, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

Iran's President-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad renewed his allegiance with the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini at his mausoleum in southern Tehran Sunday morning.

Accompanied by some members of his publicity office, Ahmadinejad laid a wreath of flower on Imam's tomb just one day after scoring a landslide win in the 9th presidential election.

The grandson of Imam, Hassan Khomeini, felicitated Ahmadinejad on his victory in the presidential race....

Bring it on, I say!

The ayatollahs in Iran are no different from Iraqi sunnis it seems, as far as a death wish goes. May their less-than-secret martyrdom desire be fulfilled in a foolish, reckless nuke pursuit that will eventually force Israel's hand if not the US's. What follows wont be pretty ...

The guy is wanted for murder in Austria and Germany

And Chris Hitchens had us believing that Hossein Khomeini was not his grandfather's grandson in his recent Vanity Fair article which was reproduced on FrontPageMag.com earlier this month.

A little background on Khomeini..

Some quotes from Khomeini...

Even more troubling than Khomeini's grandson sending "felicitations" (is that how "congratulations" is mis-translated by the Iranian press?) to the new 'secular' ayatollah, but, on this same Iranian newspage, to the right, there is a link:

"Pakistan President, PM felicitate Iranian President-Elect"

-with Musharref saying:

"It gives me great pleasure to convey your excellency warm felicitations... (blah-blah) ...further progress under your guidance ... (blah-blah)... We have no doubt that Iran would contribute positively to regional peace and stability."

With a "staunch ally" like this, the plowshares need to be beaten back into swords, ASAP.

All he needed to say was:

"Give up Osama."

Instead, it is the usual hypocrites dance.

Let's hope it isn't a Totentanz.

"Die Glocke, sie donnert ein machtiges EINs,
Und unten zerschellt das Gerippe."

("When the Bell thunders loudly, a powerful Toll,

"...and the skeleton falls, crushed to Atoms".)
-Goethe.

(My computer is glitchy today, and lost the last line from the verse posted above, which seemed the most apt image, so I wanted to get it through, and credit the author.)

Europe urges Iran to freeze nuclear plans

TEHRAN, Iran - European negotiators urged Iran's president-elect Monday to maintain a suspension of uranium enrichment activities, a day after he vowed to restart the nation's controversial nuclear program.

That's a h@ll of an idea. Let's all just "urge" the Islamists to calm down. That's the ticket.

Khomeini is dead and in hell where he belongs and with any luck Ahmadinejad will soon join him and the rest of the " good muslims".

Anyone still fooled? Well, I imagine W and Condi are still fearsome confused.

Sad thing is, after the mess in Iraq (thanks to neither side of politics admitting to WHAT the enemy is - aka Islam) no politician in the USA will be game to attack Iran, and hinder their nuclear efforts. The ramifications are enormas if the Muslism decide to "spread their Islamic peace" by playing with their new toys.

If anything Iran is/was a bigger threat than what Iraq was, and it makes me wonder why they didn't see this comming.

I hope I'm wrong. But the US (nor its allies) has neither the man power, nor material to take on Iran. We have our hands full with Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Unless of course the West admits its in a total war with Islam and treats it as such. Yawn, I can't see that happening, to many pollies, on all sides, have to much money at stake in business interests with Muslims and their oil.

Paolo

Re our conversation the other day – you say I ‘insulted’ you by saying the Pope was a Koran kisser (actually it was Mel Gibson’s father who said it – Mel a good Catholic and all, who hasn’t lost his ability to think critically)

So here is a picture I have for you:

http://www.garykah.org/popekoran.htm

I find that a ‘leader’ of a Church would do such a thing to a book that has led to the murder of millions, not only Catholics, but other Christians as well.

You may despise Lutherans, and Protestants, but I bet Calvin never did that to the Koran.

As you would say Paolo, "fact!"

Waterdragon:

This grandson is "Hassan Khomeini", a younger grandson of Khomeini who is considered his religious heir.

The one that Chris Hitchens is talking about is his cousin, "Hossein Koomeini", Khomeini's senior grandson, who fell out of favor with his grandfather in 1980 by supproting the first Iranian president Banisadr. Hossein Khomeinei has been opposing the Iranian government since then.

Get your facts straight.

3rdtimelucky,
I believe your assessment of Iran being a major belligerent in the ME is true. Iraq is a fictitious country of Shia, Sunni, and Kurds who don't like or trust each other very much. Iraq is a threat to Iraq, and not much else. This guy is a hardliner for sure, and I believe he has it in for foreign (American) troops that are there. All this has been scripted by Iran's Supreme Council who ultimately control what happens in that country. The mullahs want a showdown, and have chosen Ahmadinejad to be their 'point' man. War looms I'm afraid, and you're right voletti, it will not be pretty.

Regardless of who got elected president over there, it's the Guardian Council that has all the real power in Iran, and they need to be eliminated sooner than later if they do intend to pursue the development of nuclear weapons. Until then, they are indeed a threat to the civilized world.
