Muslim nations vow to end jihad in Iraq

This is probably one for the Bridge For Sale Department, but we'll see. "Muslim nations vow to help end Iraq insurgency," from Reuters, with thanks to the Constantinpolitan Irredentist:

SANAA (Reuters) - Foreign ministers of Muslim countries on Thursday pledged cooperation with Iraqi authorities to help end a bloody insurgency waged there by Iraqis and foreign Arabs.

Ministers of member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) meeting in Yemen agreed to help "rebuild Iraq and enabling the Iraqi government to maintain security and stability," Yemeni Foreign Minister Abubakr al-Qirbi told reporters.

Iraq's Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari said on Wednesday he held informal talks in Sanaa with officials from neighboring states about foreigners coming to fight in Iraq.

Several countries who share a border with Iraq including Kuwait, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Turkey, are all OIC members.

The only thing that motivates these countries is a agenda that is always deceptive.

I would believe that they want the US gone, they want to take control of what the future of Iraq will look like, obviously we must be doing better then the media portrays otherwards these countries would sit back and do nothing, they want to be there in the end and take credit amoung muslims and look cooperative to the west.

Are they going to listen to their leaders or be faithful to the Koran?

Just asking.

And exactly how will they accomplish this, especially in the light of the booklet from Al Qaeda titled "Why we fight - and against whom"?

Vows occur from the mouth of Muslims frequently, sometimes they carry through, but in my experience they usually fall short on execution. (No pun intended)

I don't expect anything to come from this, except a few moments of "feeling good".

Gimme a break...

One more thing to put in a speech announcing the withdrawal of American forces:

"Now that the foreign ministers of the Organizatio of Islamic Countries have put their collective weight behind the effort to end the Jihad in Iraq, we feel confident that the Iraqis, who have been so brave, so touching, so magnificent in all the ways they have helped our soldiers, and expressed their deeply-felt gratitude to them and to the American people throughout, are ready to take charge of their country. This is good news for us -- but what is more important, of course, is that it is good news for the good freedom-loving people of Iraq, and elsewhere in that part of the world where all who yearn for freedom -- as everyone does, whatever the scoffers and the scorners say -- will always find a friend in the people of the United States.

So, as of October 1, 2005, our troops will be removed from all cities and towns in Baghdad, and we expect the entire operation, of removing troops and, of course, all of their weaponry, save for some rifles and machine-guns that we may agree to sell to the Iraqi army (unfortunately, we cannot spare a single plane, helicoper, Humvee, or Bradley fighting vehicle, after the damage and degradation to equipment).

Iraq has been "stood up" and it is time for us to "stand down."

Thank you.

Who is the Constantinopolitan Irredentist? I'm new but i see it in a lot of the postings.

2pac:

CI is a JW regular when it comes to providing Spencer with post-worthy items, but doesn't leave comments on threads (although there were a few comments left by someone merely identified as "Irredentist".

Obviously, we'll see what unfolds, but I would not completely discount the possibility that some of the OIC regimes realize that the "insurgency" is bad news for them, and in many ways too.

For starters, they might be deemed insufficiently Islamic and become the target if the jihaddis find the going too tough in Iraq. Perhaps it's the bad PR with the Europeans, who don't much like seeing Israeli babies getting murdered by Palestian terrorists and likely don't feel any happier to see the butchery going on in Iraq, despite the lack of support for the removal of Saddam. (FaithFreedom says the immediate reaction to the Iranian election has been a stockmarket meltdown.)

Great! Wow, I feel so much better now. Our work here is done. We can roll up the carpet and go home.

Good thing they're holding it in Yemen.

Maybe Osama can fly in to consult, being a homeboy?

Is the Conference called "The Arabic Quranic Investigation Yadda-Yadda Assembly?" AKA-"T.A.Q.I.Y.Y.A."?

They need to hurry because the US military ends a little bit of the jihad each day by extermination.

Just more lies to pacify the angry West, buy some time for Iran to finish building a nuke.
