From the Washington Times:
JERUSALEM -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice yesterday rejected calls for U.S. engagement with the militant Palestinian group Hamas and urged Palestinians not to vote for the group's candidates in upcoming parliamentary elections."I frankly don't think that it is the dream of mothers and fathers around the world that their children will be suicide bombers," she said. "I don't think it is the dream of people around the world that their children will have no future but one of violence."
Miss Rice, may we refer you to Palestinian Media Watch, where you will find both the ideological justification and the celebration by many Palestinian parents over those very acts. The vows of Palestinian mothers to sacrifice their children for Islam are regular fare in the Palestinian media.
The parliamentary elections, which had been scheduled for July, were postponed indefinitely earlier this month.Miss Rice, on her second visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories since assuming office in January, said after a meeting with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas that Washington will only deal with nationally elected officials.
"There is an elected president and a government with which we are dealing," she said at a press conference with Mr. Abbas in the West Bank city of Ramallah. "We are the government of the United States. This is the government of the Palestinian people."
The secretary's comments came after Hamas members disclosed Thursday that they had had regular contacts with European Union diplomats. Although EU officials in Brussels denied the contacts, they noted that dealing with Hamas may be hard to avoid since the group has won control of dozens of West Bank and Gaza towns in recent municipal elections.
Both the Unites States and the EU insist they still view Hamas as a terrorist organization...
But for how long?
Who is going to bell this cat, and try to explain to Condoleeza Rice, and to others in the Administration for whom the last word on the Middle East may be, alas, Bernard Lewis, that what people drink in from early youth, what forms their minds, what is in every sermon on every Friday, on the pages of every newspaper, on the radio, on television, in the series of allusions made in every conversation, in the exclamations with which every meeting begins and ends, in the imprecations and the warnings and the blessings that make up much of the standard vocabulary of those raised in socieites infused with, pervaded by, soaking in, Islam -- the history of Islam (as told by Muslims), the wars and conquests of Islam, the heroes of Islam, the villains of Islam (those Infidels and apostates who dare to oppose it, or to betray it).
Who is going to explain that Islam is an ideology, an all-pervasive ideology that affects even that handful who, though they present themselves as plausible "reformers," are in fact, when the surface is scratched, absolutely defensive about Islam, unwilling to look at its history of conquest, unwilling to believe, or even to examine, the work of Western scholars about the subjugation and treatment of non-Muslims (Kanan Makiya, opponent of Saddam Hussein and equally of Edward Said, a man who describes his views as that of an "atheist," one who charges the non-Iraqi Arabs with utter indifference to the fate of Iraqis under Saddam Hussein and who believes that Iraq should leave the Arab League, nonetheless, this Kanan Makiya, despite his suavity, despite his contempt for much of Arab propaganda, relapses into tales of his affection for his "pious grandmother" and hands back, with evident distaste, a book by Bat Ye'or pressed upon him -- without having read it, but declaring it more or less "disgusting."
Those who make policy, and who come into constant constant contact with so many suave, plausible, soft-spoken and polite (the late oleaginous King Hussein of Jordan was a good example) Muslims, including of course the gravelly-voiced Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, whose demeanor simply hides the dishdasha-and-daggers mentality of Saudis, all of whom are enrolled in the cause of Wahhabi Islam, though the instruments they prefer -- especially the mosques, madrasas, Muslim missionaries and propaganda of very sort, as well as buying the services of all sorts of well-connected Westerners -- are different from that chosen by Osama Bin Laden -- need to constantly refer to the texts of Islam, to the history of Islam, to the doctrines of taqiyya and kitman, and to thoroughly assimilate the real behavior of Arab Muslims, not with powerful Westerners, but with the un-powerful non-Muslims -- the Copts, or the Amrenians, or the blacks in the southern Sudan, or the wage-slaves of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the U.A.E. -- and with all the non-Muslims now under pressure, or persecution, or murder, within such Muslim countries as Pakistan and Indonesia.
There has to be at the top, where policy is made, some intellectual effort made to understand, and to thoroughly assimilate that understanding, of Islam -- not "extremists" and not "Wahhabi" MUslims, but any Muslim who accepts in full the tenets of Islam, and any other Muslim who might, at some point, and for whatever reason, go along with those tenets (as so many obviously do and will), or whose progeny within the West, behind what they regard (and therefore so should we) as enemy-held territory some day to be liberated so that Islam may dominate (for "Islam must dominate and is not to be dominated") and Muslims may rule. This seems fantastic to Westerners; they cannot quite believe it; some of them refuse to believe it not because they do not see the evidence but because the conclusions they would have to draw, the actions they might have to contemplate, are too troubling to them.
All one can say to them is that by ignoring the theory and long history of Islam, by ignoring the attitudes that Islam fosters, by ignoring the peculiar psychology of Muslims, the defensiveness that almost all of them feel and that hinders their own willingness to confront the failures of Islam, or rather to attribute the political, economic, social, and intellectual failures of Islamic countries for at least the last 1000 years to Islam itself -- all this has to be overcome if civilization as we understand it is to prevail. As it must if there is to be any hope at all.
Arafat: "There will only be peace when the Jews are gone!"
(W)ahabbi Bush: "There will be peace when the Jews are gone."
Only phase 1 folks, the Final Solution continues.
The U.S. is about to pay a Biblical price for what the (W)ahabbster is doing. The attack will be nuclear, arab, and muslim.
This policy of giving faux legitimacy to illegitimite moslem terrorists for political
expedience is pure dhimmitude.
Along these lines, Ariel Sharon and Shimon Peres announced yet another pitiful round of concessions to moslem terrorists. Israel will now be allowing the PA authorities in Gaza to be armed with guns and detailed maps revealing infrastructure and water systems in advance of the planned expulsion of the Jews. Sharon and Peres (are they now the same person?) both justify this act of dhimmitude by saying, "It's not the guns that threaten us, but the suicide bombers."
Well, I'm sure the Jews that these terrorists kill with their new guns and maps will be relieved to know that at least they weren't blown up by suicide bombers. As we know, performing
"good will gestures" to moslems has a brilliant track record (see Oslo, Arafat's return to Ramallah, forfeiting the Temple Mount, etc.) of stopping jihadi terrorism.
What is that definition of insanity again? Oh yeah, to keep doing the same thing over and over again expecting there to be a different result.
Unbelievable.

Well, at least Condoleeza didn't say 'holy' Hamas.
Laboring under the inavlid assumption that (W)ahhabi *wants* to
understand or *wants* to do what's right, will always yield the
same result: incredulity. "How could he be this stupid?"
Once you understand (and accept) what The Plan is, you will see
he is not stupid and that The Train is on schedule.
"Both the Unites States and the EU insist they still view Hamas as a terrorist organization..."
but from Melanie Phillips we get
http://www.melaniephillips.com/diary/archives/001249.html
"Into the sewers with Hamas"
"Thus the BBC stumbled across Britain's dirty little secret -- that despite the fact that it has declared Hamas to be a proscribed terrorist organisation, it has quietly started to treat it as a legitimate political party and deal with its representatives.
It is Britain, along with France, that is apparently behind the decision by the Bush administration to abandon the Bush doctrine and talk to Hamas. Later on the programme (0810) Foreign Secretary Jack Straw produced a set of ludicrous justifications for the fact that British diplomats had now had two such meetings with Hamas mayors."
Yes those men Scott McClellan referred to as "businessmen in suits".
And just reinforce the farce:

"Moderating its militancy?"
"QALQILYA, West Bank - Wajih el-Nazzan wears two hats -- mayor of this midsize Palestinian city and activist with the militant Islamist group Hamas."
Miss Rice, many we refer you to Palestinian Media Watch, where you will find both the ideological justification and the celebration by many Palestinian parents over those very acts.
GOOD ONE!!! {I can't make those letters big enough

DITTO on everything you said - especially this part...
"This seems fantastic to Westerners; they cannot quite believe it; some of them refuse to believe it not because they do not see the evidence but because the conclusions they would have to draw, the actions they might have to contemplate, are too troubling to them"
and this
There has to be at the top, where policy is made, some intellectual effort made to understand, and to thoroughly assimilate that understanding, of Islam -- not "extremists" and not "Wahhabi" MUslims, but any Muslim who accepts in full the tenets of Islam, and any other Muslim who might, at some point, and for whatever reason {The New Testament says - its because they love evil.
Show them the violent writings of the Koran - and they still cling to it.
The tree is known by its own fruit
Wickedness begets wickedness.
Eternal life is not the reason they cling to it. Those who truly fear God - are horrified over the commands of the Koran.
And it is the voices of this world - who are to be blamed! for not speaking against it.
That includes ms Rice. She took that resposibility upon herself - when she took the position she did.
But the media giants and groups like Amnesty are even more so - to be blamed.
The next time a school is attacked? - or a hospital? Remember that!
And remember this too:
033.061 They [non-Muslims] shall have a curse on them: whenever they are found, they shall be seized and slain without mercy.
009.005 fight and slay the Pagans ''''wherever'''' ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war.
Just remember - the leaders and the voices of this world refused to condemn such viciousness.
It will be their fault! and they'll have blood on their hands.
"I frankly don't think that it is the dream of mothers and fathers around the world that their children will be suicide bombers," she said. "I don't think it is the dream of people around the world that their children will have no future but one of violence."
It’s is almost laughable
That someone this far removed from reality is our mouthpiece across the world.
If the Islamic threat were the red threat she would not be able to find a level of contempt they could be help up to, but she is a one trick pony .
I don’t understand why people who don’t understand things will apply attributes to it .
Our foreign policy is based on best guess and juvenile assumptions.
Democrats Play House To Rally Against the War
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/06/16/AR2005061601570.html
In the Capitol basement yesterday, long-suffering House Democrats took a trip to the land of make-believe.
They pretended a small conference room was the Judiciary Committee hearing room, draping white linens over folding tables to make them look like witness tables and bringing in cardboard name tags and extra flags to make the whole thing look official.
Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.) banged a large wooden gavel and got the other lawmakers to call him "Mr. Chairman." He liked that so much that he started calling himself "the chairman" and spouted other chairmanly phrases, such as "unanimous consent" and "without objection so ordered." The dress-up game looked realistic enough on C-SPAN, so two dozen more Democrats came downstairs to play along.
Was on television - for about an hour
Dhimmi Watch posts the full text of Rep. John Conyers effort to pander to his Muslims constituents. It is House Resolution 288 and it's a doozy.
Not sure of the address of the link
Anyone have that?
Does it suprise anyone that Eu diplomats have had regular contact with Homas?. Seems to me that any group that pledges to kill Jews is ok with the Europeans
"I frankly don't think that it is the dream of mothers and fathers around the world that their children will be suicide bombers," she said. "I don't think it is the dream of people around the world that their children will have no future but one of violence."
Does the West even have an intelligence agency anymore? Has anyone in the Government anywhere in the West even bothered to look at the long and bloody history of Islam? Let alone just sit down for a day or two and read the Koran (may pigs piss be upon it)?
I wonder how much dhimmi bribe money she must be getting. When she is improving her tan under an Iranian nuke exploded in the US via a peace loving Hamas representative, maybe then she, and the other politicians, will change their mind. Trouble is, its to late then.
When are we going to get politicians who actually care about the West rather than "feel" guilty thanks to all the lefty revisionist history?
I'm sick of the West being filled with pansy, limp wristed sissy whimpy Chamberlins. Give me a Churchill!
I too could win an election anywhere in the world, if you give me enough thugs armed with sub machine guns at every polling booth.
Does that make me a legitimate government though? Let alone a true democracy?
Did the Germans and the Japanese post 1945, were they allowed to keep their hateful doctrines as they entered the polls? I think not. So why do idiot politicians think that it will be any different with the ideology of Islam? Especially when there IS NO MUSLIM DEMOCRACY anywhere in the world. Turkey comes close - but look at their Human Rights record et al for Indonesia, and I believe Miss Afghanistan is still in hiding after appearing in a Bikini at a beauty contest (silly girl - she should have worn a full burka, and then sued the organisers for discrimination after she lost, no need to show flesh, the International Court of Justice would have reinstated her as the winner!)
3rdtimelucky-
The Afghan young lady t.v. music presenter, Shaima Rezayee, wasn't as lucky as Miss Afghanistan.

(The latter lady in the scandalizing bikini, however, is welcome to take refuge at my place anytime.)
I get the idea that Ms. Rice has always avoided contact.

Bill - Just show them [ALL of them from the leaders to the bottom] that if they say they support Palestine - then they are no longer Christians.
They can call themselves Christians till the cows come home - but it STILL won't make them Christians.
Isa 14:31 Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times. [If you support Palestine - then you are Palestine]
Exd 15:14 The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina. {SEE that? That's the song of Moses} The saints 'sing' this song} Rev 15:3 [Because it is a GREAT Prophecy!
If they're not 'singing' it - they're not Christians - NO matter how much they say they are.
Eternal Life is at stake.
They're worshipping in vain - if they support Palestine
