Thailand: Monk, soldiers injured by bomb near temple in Narathiwat

An elderly Buddhist monk and four soldiers escorting the monk were seriously injured when a remote-controlled bomb exploded as they were leaving a temple in Bacho district of Narathiwat province, early Wednesday, police said.

The bomb which was planted 100 metres from the temple was detonated by mobile phone at 6:00 am this morning, as the 78-year-old Pra Thammajaro Buddhist monk, and soldiers were leaving the temple.
