Dadullah and Brader -- no Omar (yet). From UPI, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:
U.S. and Afghan forces have surrounded at least two senior Taliban commanders after three days of intense fighting in southern Afghanistan.More than 100 Taliban fighters have been killed in one of the biggest offensives in two years, the BBC reported Thursday.
Those surrounded are believed to include Mullah Dadullah and Mullah Brader -- both of whom are said to be close to Taliban leader Mullah Omar.
Hundreds of Afghan troops backed by U.S.-led coalition forces took part in the clashes in Zabul province that began Tuesday when rebels opened fire with small arms and rocket-propelled grenades....
A Taliban spokesman denied that any of their men had been killed.
Yes, and the American troops are nowhere near Baghdad!
Hello...Baghdad Bob, .......Are you there?
Hello...Baghdad Bob, come in over.........are you there?
Pause
The great Crusaders must have hit Baghdad Bob, as there is not response from CNN here that Baghdad Bob is hearing us? Oh wait, that's right the Crusaders are nowhere near Baghdad Bob. Must be a sun spot, satellite dish malfunction, cable split, bad circuit in the camera, truck generator went down.........ahh ........... Let's switch to our other correspondent in Afghanistan who is with Mullah Dadullah and Mullah Brader, are you there?...............Come in?
I can only fantasize! OBL is making a propagandistic talk before the cameras, live on Al-Jazzie. Behind him, soldiers in fatigues tiptoe in, their guns and gesturing to the cameraman to keep it rolling. One, for a while, gives OBL the rabbit's ears before tapping him on the shoulder to tell him he's caught--and the cameras keep rolling until he's loaded into a waiting helicopter.
