Turkey: On-the-spot circumcisions

On May 25 I posted a link to Alyssa A. Lappen's superb article, "Turkey's Forgotten Islamist Pogrom," which notes:

Published this month by Greekworks.com, the work subtitled The Turkish Pogrom of September 6-7, 1955, and the Destruction of the Greek Community of Istanbul shows that riots which destroyed 4,500 Greek homes, 3,500 businesses, 90 religious institutions and 36 schools in 45 distinct communities, resulted not only from “fervid chauvinism, or even [from] the economic resentment of many impoverished rioters, but [from] the profound religious fanaticism in many segments of Turkish society.”

Now, from ekathimerini.com (thanks to Sparta) comes an important sidelight to this story:

Within a few hours, 45 Greek communities were looted and destroyed on that September night in 1955, when a protest in Istanbul veered out of control.

Greeks and Armenians were savagely beaten and there were gang rapes.

Turkish writer Aziz Nessin says that any male passer-by the Turks considered a Greek was forced to show if he had been circumcised.

In some cases, Nessin says, Turks carried out “circumcisions” on the spot with knives.

Vryonis shakes his head sadly when these incidents are mentioned to him. He says most of the victims of this atrocity were Greek priests.

Some exhort readers to study the Koran, ahadiths, and sira to gain knowledge of Islam. Study of of these documents is indeed important. More important, though, is the study of the history of Islam, the history of the cultures and civilizations that have died as a result of islam, and our contemporary news reports, "history's first draft," in which we see for ourselves the malice of Islam, the deleterious effect that Islam has on all that it touches.

We have heard of atrocities of this kind happening from ancient history, in the Middle Ages, and with the Nazis and Stalinists. This atrocity took place in the same era, and it seems that these same atrocities continue in the present. Man has not learned from history, especially if sacred writing mandate or back up these horrible practices.

For the Muslim world, that is one fifth of the world’s population, cannot remain excluded from the activities of the Security Council which assumes a fundamental role in keeping security and peace in the world.

I presume he means islamic peace.

Is this an example of tauriya, I wonder?

Why do they need a seat on the Security Council when they have France, Russia and China acting as their proxies?

I imagine the same thing happened to my Papoo's village in E. Thrace in the early 1900's. He was only spared because he was off to boarding school in Greece.
I was told he came back to visit in the 1970's and his families village had been destroyed and taken over by Turkish immigrants. They desocrated the cemetery and the Orthodox Church, and they complain about the so-called desocration of the Koran. They slaughtered his family and those who survived were forced to leave their ancestral home and move to Greece. I suppose I would not be here if this had not happened but it is a strong testimony about radical Islams attitudes towards the dhimmi. I was told the ruins the village church were still standing, sort of a ghost from the past.
I feel no anger towards the Turks but as an American it makes me more dilagante towards the radical branch of Islam, we need to learn from history.

Those who forget their history have no future.

Its time for action!
