Fat lot of good the President's repeated insistence that Islam is a religion of peace has done him. He would have done better to say from the outset that we are fighting an Islamic jihad that has been declared against us. A meeting in Mombasa to mark the death of a former Iran President was yesterday turned into a forum to condemn the US government over its alleged fight against Islam.Several Islamic scholars at the 16th anniversary of the death of the spiritual leader Ayatollah Khomeini at the weekend accused the US of allegedly dividing the Muslim world in the name of democracy.
But in a quick rejoinder, US spokesman Peter Claussen denied the allegation saying that there were many Muslims in the the country.
"We can not possibly fight Islam. In the US, there are too many Muslims and we cannot just decide to fight the religion because doing so will mean fighting ourselves," he said.
The public forum that was held at the Jafferey Institute of Professional Studies, also saw the return of controversial Islamic preacher, Sheikh Ali Shee, who accused the US of causing disunity among the Islamic world with the sole purpose of stopping further spread of the faith.

Well, I guess the SOB is not wrong: We don't want them to spread the poison any further. But whether the administration got the message so far, I doubt it.

YOU BETCH'EM, Carolyn2! As for being forced to accept such a fate--NEVER! It's not in our nature as Americans! Those Mountain Men, Crackers, Rednecks, etc., as someone said a long time ago, would be the worst nightmare of any significant Muslim takeover attempt. "They" may have studied our politics, our law, our Constitution, and our economy, but "they" have NO IDEA about the "Great American Subconscious." None.
Somewhere on a post--yesterday I think--someone said that there is a significant difference between the attitude of the American government and the attitude of the citizens. I have to agree.

This remark by Peter Claussen is one of the most telling you have published.
It reveals the following: the unwillingness to recognize reality out of fear -- fear that we have already let into this country, behind enemy lines (for we are the enemy), millions of people who are Muslims, who believe in Islam, who wish to spread Islam until it covers the globe, who cannot possibly share any of the political or social understandings that have shaped, or make, America, or rather cannot share any of those undrstandings, and feel compelled to work against them, against a secular Infidel government, against the First Amendment rights, against the absolute legal equality of everyone (and not the status of degradation and humiliation that would be the common lot of all non-Muslims should Muslims ever gain control of this or any other Infidel land as yet still outside the subjugated lands of dar al-Islam).
An extraordinary remark, and one which may explain the failure to speak, not openly of Islam, but at least far more cleverly in a still slightly-oblique fashion. Claussen should be chastened, but perhaps he merely reflects the confusion and defeatism at the top.
Something like thus must explain what is going on: We have too many Muslims here. We must do nothing to rile them up. They are easily riled, fanatical, and many of them murderous. In Pakistan, the other day, Sunnis blew up a Shi'a mosque, and the survivors attacked -- not Sunnis, but a KFC outlet identified as "American."
So we will lie to the 99% of Americans who are still Infidels. We will continue to pretend that the enemy is "terrorism" (and without that adjective "Muslim" or "Islamic" to accurately and appropriately modify it), rather than the world-wide Jihad, which is as much directed at Infidels in Asia (Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, India) and Africa (Nigeria, Sudan, Ivory Coast, Chad, Ethiopia, Kenya) through such insruments of Jihad as the money weapon and the Da'wa weapon and the weapon of demography. The United States is only singled out because it has been the most powerful and resolute of Islam's intended victims -- it stands in the way.
But it stands in the way in an unnecessarily ineffective and costly way, and a recoognition by the government, and then by the people, of what is going on would do much to cause more sensible policies, cheaper (no more misallocation of resources in Iraq, no more transfer of our wealth to Muslim states and polities that do not already possess oil wealth, such as Egypt and Pakistan and the "Pakestine" Authority. No more pussyfooting about immigation, no more Muslim immigrants who in fact pose an obvous physical danger, by their very presence, to Americans who do support the American political and social arrangements that have been forged over more than two centuries. Why should "Palestinians" for example, be admitted from, say, the West Bank, to the United States, where they will inevitably threaten the wellbeing of all Infidels, but in the first place the well-being and safety of American Jews? Would we allow into the United States Nazis? Unprepentant supporters of apartheid (of Mr. Eugene Blancheterre) in South Africa? Why should we, then, admit people who do not wish our civilization, our politics, our social arrangements, our own beings, well? Do we have an obligation to increase unpleasantness, the expense of monitoring, and physical danger to ourselves?
No, we do not.
But if this campaign of self-defense, conducted not only in the United States, but in a Europe now demonstrating its readiness to throw off the entrenched dhimmis (Prodi, Solana, Patten, Moratinos, and such sinister advisers as Alistair Crooke, whose services and advice Arab clients are happy to engage) in the E.U. who rule it, in a black Africa where the massacres of the Christians of Biafra and the Sudanese in the south, and the blacks enslaved by Arabs in Mali and Mauritania, and the constant pressure of Islam on Christians everywhere, are finally leading to a breaking-point, where the Catholic Church has a new Pope keenly aware of the need to rescue Europe from its civilizational amnesia and drift, when all of this is going on, the statements of Peter Claussen, and all those who think like him, or think they must think like him, need to be exposed, publicized, analyzed, and criticized until those who utter them are so taken to task that they will not allow themselves to speak in so craven, defeatist, confused, and therefore self-defeating a fashion, as he allowed himself to do.

In fact, we may be overqualified in this conflict. Moslems are SO backward and SO incapable that we are afraid to look like bullies by pounding them into submission.
It is that very overconfidence that is our gravest threat. We see the arab world as laughably feeble so we scoff at their calls to jihad. We barely bother to report the message of "Death to America" or "Death to Israel" because they are seen as dirty little weaklings of no real consequence.
9-11 was a big wake-up call for us, but, unfortunately, the moment was lost to rout islam out of existance when President Bush slipped into the "boogy man" trap, first singling out Osama Bin Laden and later Saddam Hussein.
Israel is guilty of the same passivity. By letting the weak, pathetic rat fester in your spare room, eventually he pokes through a hole while your sleeping and bites you. If only the exterminator had been called to destroy the rat in the first place, the home would have been safe and free from worry all along.
The blame, therefore, should not be placed on the rat, after all that's what these disgusting vermin do, but, instead, on the homeowner who either felt bad for the rat, or didn't believe the rat would ever really bite him, and never bothered to have it exterminated when he had the chance.
Let's hope our leaders somehow, someway, get the guts to exterminate the rats before it's too late.

Indeed. But where can any attempt to resolve this succeed, when the 'root cause' is not addressed? So far, the Bush administration has done the worst PR job, EVER. The Condi apology is indigestible. The reluctance to acknowledge the problem being the ideology itself continues, and unless that changes there will be no 'winning'-this, I believe, is the hardest to swallow for the troops: How are they to fight this with arms tied behind their backs?
