U.S. prisons becoming Islam battleground

Prison jihad update from AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

Across the United States, tens of thousands of Muslims are practicing their faith behind bars. Islam is most likely to win American converts there, according to U.S. Muslim leaders, and the religion has for decades been a regular part of prison culture.

But the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks have brought new scrutiny to Muslim inmates, many of whom are black men focused on surviving incarceration. While prison chaplains of various denominations argue that Islam offers a spiritual path to rehabilitation, others say it has the potential to turn felons into terrorists. The FBI calls prisons "fertile ground for extremists."...

Ever since the 2002 arrest of Jose Padilla, a felon and American Muslim convert who authorities say planned a "dirty bomb" radiological attack after he left jail, law enforcement officials, politicians and even a few evangelical leaders have warned that Muslim inmates are ripe for terrorist recruitment.

Sen. Charles Schumer, a New York Democrat, has said: "Wahhabi influence is inculcating them with the same kind of militant ideas that drove the 9/11 hijackers to kill thousands of Americans." Wahhabism is a strict form of Islam practiced in Saudi Arabia, which was home to 15 of the 19 hijackers.

Chuck Colson, founder of the evangelical Prison Fellowship Ministries and a Nixon administration official, predicted that "radical Islamists will use prisons, packed with angry and resentful men," to avenge Islam.

"Prisons continue to be fertile ground for extremists who exploit both a prisoner's conversion to Islam while still in prison, as well as their socio-economic status and placement in the community upon their release," FBI director Robert Mueller said Feb. 16 to the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee.

However, Mueller, Colson and Schumer are imagining all that:

Prison chaplains and others, however, say such warnings are dangerously ignorant.

In interviews with The Associated Press, chaplains, prison volunteers, correctional officials, inmates and former inmates all insisted that there was no evidence of terrorist recruitment by Muslims in their prisons - although banned pamphlets and books sometimes slip in.

Chaplains describe the typical inmate convert as a poor, black American upset about racism, not Mideast politics; someone who turned to Islam to cope with imprisonment. When they get out, these men are so overwhelmed by alcoholism or poverty that the crimes they are most likely to commit are the ones that landed them in jail to begin with, chaplains say.

"They don't care about Osama bin Laden," said Imam Talib Abdur Rashid, who worked for years as a chaplain in New York state's prison system. "They have their own beefs that have nothing to do with shariah (Islamic law), the Taliban or Wahhabism, and everything to do with slavery, segregation and the history of U.S. racism."...

Of course, of course. But the obvious rejoinder is that once one's loyalty is won, one's resentment can be turned in the proper direction.

Remember Malcom X, evangelists and catholics have to support these people and fight against islam, I know that legion of Mary are doing a work in some prisons, I don´t know about protestantism but the moral war is an important factor in this war.

The appeal of Islam to criminals is easy to see: thugs like thuggery.

Prisons are run by the state. Religion shouldn't be part of the program then should it? The state should not promote any religion whatsoever. Besides allowing people to come in and screw with the heads of people you are trying to "reform" (what a laugh) seems counterproductive. The penal system in the U.S. is terrible. It simply doesn't work worth a damn already.

Allowing Islam to recruit, train, and agitate inside of U.S. prisons is quite frankly, fatally stupid.

Seymour:

The attraction toward Islam in the prison population goes deeper than an affinity for thuggery. If the convicted have already entered into the penal system with a chip on their shoulder and a desire for revenge, finding "religous" justification for seeking revenge would have incredible potency.

This is certainly not something the John Howard or Elizabeth Fry Societies would be serving up, nor would the assorted Christian denominations who would be doing outreach and rehab work in the prisons.

It isn't just the Wahabbis.

Check out this Shi'ite outfit:

www.allahsreligion.com

Then consider that this outfit is tied directly to the office of Ayatollah Khameini himself, as per this:

http://www.sofir.org/sarchives/004209.php

Thus we see the minions of the Glorious Islamic Revolution recruiting in state prisons in the USA. Gives me an almost terminal case of the warm fuzzies. How 'bout you?

I had posted towards this compatibility once before.

In Christianity we believe that you go to heaven by being born again, saved, doing good, living well, etc.

In Islam you go to heaven by claiming to be muslim and acknowledging allah as god, then you only have to be good only to muslims.

Now you can circumvent this in islam by being bad, doing bad and being a degenerate, IF you perform Jihad and die taking infadels with you. This will advance you pass "go" and take you straight to heaven.

So it makes prisons the most perfect place to recruit. You can kill, rape, murder and live a bad life, but "claim" Jihad upon your death and you go to heaven. What a sells pitch! That is why islam wanted to get into the American prisons and Clinton opened the door.

Not surprising at all. This cult has always had more of the characteristics of a modern street gang, like the crips and bloods than a religion. Sanctioned murder, theft, and rape has always appealed to sociopaths, as the "prophet" (psbuh) was well aware of.

In Christianity we believe that you go to heaven by being born again, saved, doing good, living well, etc.

Salvation in "classic" Christianity is achieved through faith in Christ alone, not through works. Addition or subtraction from Christ's work on the cross suggests Christ's sacrifice was not enough. Therefore, "doing good, living well, etc." won't count for anything toward "judgement day."

Christainity however, is divided into so many denominations, sects, sub-sects, cults, and self appointed evangelists that the requirements and biblical justifications for entering heaven vary with the user. As a former Christian of 40 years, I interviewed, debated, and engaged in enough "soul-winning" of people to know the requirments for salvation are broadly interpreted by the vast majority of the Christian population.

At any rate ... I am now an athiest. It is clear to me now that the only way to heaven is to make it. Your only salvation is your will to live. Your only hope is your fellow human beings.

f.g.

Muslims of all stripes read the Koran as Christians of all stripes read the Bible. The Koran mandates Jihad whereas Christianity mandates peace and the Golden Rule.

Sooner or later a Muslim extremist will remind a moderate that being a good Muslim means a violent struggle against non-believers for the sake of Allah and Islam. No Muslim will repudiate this doctrine. Good Christians can never advocate violence for sake of Christianity as to do so would repudiate the teachings of Christ.

True f.g. Faith alone is the way of salvation. But a Christian should exhibit the fruit of the Spirit. You know Peace, love etc. And remember it says that "they will know we are Christians by our love". (G-d may have to kick my butt a little bit on the love thing)

How IRONIC. Murdering Fanatics going to the source of finding murdering criminals to become fanatics.

f.g. and Carolyn2: it is not in "classical Christianity", but in classical PROTESTANTISM, that faith alone does the saving to the exclusion of works. The break with the Catholic Church was exactly on that. Read the Epistle of St.James, with its memorable sentence: "why do you make such a fuss about believing in the Lord? The demons believe in Him too - and tremble!" And if you study the ancient Eastern - Orthodox, Monophysite, Nestorian - traditions, you will find that they are even more concerned with "works", chief among them the "work" of personal sanctification, than the Catholic Church.

f.g., carolyn, and paolo...

My point was not what Christians believe, just what we are use to hearing about Christians. And what we are not use to hearing about islam.

The point was in line with the article. Bad people fit into islam because the religion allows for the person to be bad all through life and even in their death, if in so doing they end their life (not live their life) by claiming Jihad. Jihad "washes away their sins" so to speak.

This is foreign to westerners and we should be aware of this. That is why prisons and rebellious youth are such easy canidates for recruitment.

I agree alaskan1000, islam allows it's adherents to continue with their rage and hatred, it is even rewarded. There is no need to tame the beast within.

alaskan,

yes, you understand. Our ethical system is different from theirs. What we think of as bad, lying, cheating, stealing, murder, rape, are not condemned in their belief system when carried out against the enemy or infidel. They are not however, suppposed to do these things to their muslim brother by the moon god's decree but when they get caught up in passion . . . well, you know how little boys are.

IAEA Postpones Vote After U.S. Opposition

Wednesday, April 27, 2005

VIENNA, Austria — The United States opposed the reappointment of the U.N.'s top nuclear inspector Wednesday because of his views on Iran and prewar Iraq, prompting the atomic watchdog agency to delay its decision to avoid a confrontation between Washington and other members.

The board of the International Atomic Energy Agency (search) has until June to decide whether to reappoint Mohamed ElBaradei (search) to a third term. At a brief meeting Wednesday, the board postponed a decision on the reappointment.

U.S. officials refused to comment on the meeting. But a Western diplomat familiar with their position said they were weighing their options before June and hoping to swing traditional allies to muster the minimum of 12 votes needed to block ElBaradei.

The issue of who controls the IAEA is key for Washington, which is opposed in principle to heads of U.N. agencies serving a third term but also wants someone sharing its view of which countries represent nuclear threats and what to do about them.

ElBaradei has challenged those views -- particularly over Iran and prewar Iraq, both of which President Bush labeled part of an "axis of evil" with North Korea.

ElBaradei first disputed U.S. assertions that Saddam Hussein had an active nuclear weapons program -- claims that remain unproven. He then refused to endorse assertions by Washington that Tehran was working to make nuclear weapons. Iran says its nuclear program is for generating electricity.

The Bush administration called on him to step down after completing a second term, but a direct attempt to unseat ElBaradei fizzled last year when the United States could not find anyone to challenge him for a third term by the Dec. 31 deadline.

Diplomats in Vienna said Wednesday the Americans still had no candidate.

Wednesday's meeting was called earlier this month at the request of developing nations on the board.

"We're quite confident that the meeting is going to be a constructive one and it will be an additional step toward ensuring the reappointment of Dr. ElBaradei," Egypt's chief delegate, Ramzy Ezzelin Ramzy, said before the meeting.

At the time the meeting was set, diplomats hinted that developing nations hoped their cause would benefit from changes in the U.S. State Department that have left a key position temporarily in flux.

Former U.S. Undersecretary of State John Bolton, a key ElBaradei critic, is waiting for U.S. Senate confirmation as his nation's new ambassador to the United Nations. His designated successor, Bob Joseph, also must be approved by the Senate.

U.S., Europe Urge Saudi Nuke Inspections
Friday, June 10, 2005
While the Saudi government insists it has no interest in going nuclear, in the past two decades it has been linked to prewar Iraq's nuclear program, to Pakistan and to the Pakistani nuclear black marketeer A.Q. Khan (search). It also has expressed interest in Pakistani missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads, and credible reports say Saudi officials have discussed taking the nuclear option as a deterrent in the volatile Middle East.
There was no comment Friday from the Saudi mission dealing with the IAEA. But an Arab diplomat, who demanded he not be identified, said "there was some communication on the issue" between the Saudis, the Europeans, the Americans and Australia.
The IAEA's 35-nation board of governors routinely approves the so-called "small quantities protocols" which free countries from reporting the possession of up to 10 tons of natural uranium — or up to 20 tons of depleted uranium, depending on the degree of enrichment — and 2.2 pounds of plutonium.
Such agreements also allow countries to keep silent about work on nuclear facilities until six months before they are ready for operation. And once a protocol is signed, the country's word is normally not questioned.

U.S. Supports New Term for IAEA's ElBaradei
Thursday, June 09, 2005

WASHINGTON — Reversing course, the Bush administration said Thursday it is prepared to support a third term for the head of the U.N. nuclear monitoring agency.
NO WONDER HIS POLLS ARE SLIPING??
The announcement followed a half-hour meeting between ElBaradei and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
They agreed on the urgency of halting the spread of nuclear weapons technology and that the agency's focus should be placed on suspicious Iranian actions, McCormack said.
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell had opposed a third term for ElBaradei. Rice agrees that "the two-term rule is an important principle" within the U.N. , McCormack said. "It leads to a healthy U.N. system."
But, he said, ElBaradei and agency officials assigned to overseeing Iran "are working in a serious way."
"He understands clearly where we are on the issue" after talking to Rice and other Bush administration officials, the spokesman said.

The other half of this problem is: imprisoning large numbers of otherwise harmless people for 'victimless crimes' (that once were legal acts).

Providing a huge and waiting 'resentful class' who take to the 'answer' of 'vengeful' Islam happily, seeing it as the perfect way to get back at the 'law'.

The harder the present puritannical judicial system clamps down, (instead of 'medicalizing' both the drug and prostitution 'problem') the worse we will make the chances for preventing this 'jihadist underclass' from being sown in the 'fertile crescent' of the prison system.

The more 'criminals' there are created who despise the 'capricious' legal set-up, the more potential terrorists we supply our global opponents in Imperialistic Islam.

But smug moralists prefer to be 'hit in the family' before they ever modify their pompous and prissy impossible blueprint for the perfect society.

Another example of the good being undermined by a delusional effort to reach the best.

Welcome to THE HARD WAY.

CAIR doesn't understand that irony for boasting about malevolent actions by Muslims.

In Canada CAIR posted a notice that a Imam was being hire by Correction Canada for the Muslim
prisoners as part of CAIR push for sensitivity
to Islam and Muslims.

So if I understand this right, the Muslim population in prisons(federal,2 years or more sentences) has gotten so large that a Imam
is needed to give support to the followers of a peaceful religion that forbids violence and
disobeying the laws of non-Islamic Countries
that Muslim may live in.

Sure glad CAIR exposed this tragedy in Canada that the refugees that fled those oppressive Islamic nation that imprison people without proof, are now victimized again by Infidels
jailing them without proof they are one of the "Bad" Muslims.

Members of various Da'wa groups and individuals -- an Egyptian Muslim (married to a Dane) here, a convert over there -- are busily promoting Islam with what is, of course, a captive population. Already nicely identified by their condition as economically and socially marginal, with an axe to grind (and sometimes with justification), these prisoners are Jihad-fodder. They can be offered spiritual guidance by smiling and plausible souls, who tell them such things, palpably untrue, that Islam is devoid of racism. But in fact Islam is the most racist of all belief-systems, for it requires complete identification with, and mimicking of, the mores and manners of a particular people -- the Arabs, who are "the best of people," even going so far as to insist that the Qur'an must be read in Arabic (that seems in recent years to have been honored in the breach) and that converts take on new, Arabic names and slough off their pre-Islamic identities, histories, interests. There has never been an imperialism, a cultural and linguistic imperialism, so successful.

But there are ways to deal with this. It should not be beyond the wit of those who regard the spread of Islam as a mortal threat to our Infidel society, and to ourselves, to figure out how best to appeal, and with what spokesmen, to those who might be attracted not to Islam -- but to the highly selective version of Islam, with all the unpleasant or troubling parts left out (as so many of the contributors to Ibn Warraq's "Leaving Islam" point out, and as the Infidel women who have been left high and dry by the Muslim men they married, once they discovered what Islam was really all about and chose not to go down that road, can also testify.

For example, this country has a good many personable "Lost Boys" -- the black African Christians of the southern Sudan, such as Francis Bok (and his book should be distributed, gratis, all over the prison system). Such people can offer their own testimony as to how the Arabs treat black people. And so can those rescued from slavery in Mali and Mauritania. And this country also has quite a few Christians from Ethiopia, suffering pressure from the Da'wa campaigns conducted there, which accompany the campaign to islamize Christian Ethiopia and to make sure it does not divert any of the headwaters of the Nile for its own use.

Then there are many Nigerians -- Christian Nigerians, mainly but not exclusively Ibo, because even the Yoruba are split between Christians and Muslims. Some of these people need work. They could perform a very important service simply by explaining, in prisons and schools to the right audiences, what their experience was like, and why Col. Ojukwu referred to the "jihad" that had caused the declaration of Biafra's independence (see the Ahiara Declaration of 1969). The Ibo have been on the receiving end, along with other Christian peoples in southern Nigeria, not only of the Egyptian pilots who killed tens of thousands of helpless villagers during the Biafra War (this should not be forgotten) but by the northerners who consistently, because of their Islam, dominate the southerners, treat them with contumely, and block all sorts of things, from polio vaccinations (said to be an "infidel" plot to kill Muslim children -- in other words, the usual conspiratorial nonsense, but with real consequences as polio has now reappared throughout the region thanks to Muslim conspiracy theories) to the Miss World beauty contest, which had to be moved, to the Christian Nigerian columnist who, having made a joke about something that offended Muslims, had to leave the country after receiving death threats (par for the Muslim course).

And all of these people can remind African-Americans who might otherwise be susceptible to the siren-song of the Da'wa-men, that the greatest slave trade in Africa was not the European, but the Arab slave trade. It began centuries earlier, and ended centuries later (indeed, has not really ended at all) than the European slave trade. It claimed far more victims, for the Arab slavers wanted, above all, young boys, whom they castrated when they were captured, which is why by the time they reached the Muslim slave markets of Jeddah, and Damascus, and Baghdad, and Cairo, and then Constantinople and even Smyrna, fully 90% of them had died -- a fantastic death-rate, about which more can be found in "The Hideous Trade" by Jan Hogedoorn, and also in the book on the Arab slave trade by J. Willis.

The greatest slavers in world history, the Arabs and Muslims have gotten off scot-free. They continue to exploit, enslave, and even murder blacks -- and precisely because they are blacks, as anyone who reads the ample testimony from either the southern Sudan (where for 20 years a slow-motion genocide has been taking place) and now Darfur, where even fellow-Muslims are mass-murdered, because they are not Arabs.

And once that has been thoroughly understood, and booklets prepared with that information, and both Sudanese and Nigerian and possibly other black African anti-Da'wa campaigners are ready to spread not Islam, but the word on what Islam and Muslims have really done in black Africa, there is yet another line of self-defense against Da'wa, an instrument of Jihad and, with demography, the most dangerous.

That is what Islam is really like. It asks the new convert to strip himself of his identity. It asks him to take a new name. It asks him to give up art -- no sculpture, and no paintings of people or other living things. It asks him to give up music -- no gospel music, no jazz, no nothing. In some Arab countries, this ban is violated -- but the ban is part of Islam, and that should be clear (one has only to consult al-Qaradawi). How many people will be willing to trade in, for example, their music for -- silence? "There is no place for humor in Islam" wrote Ayatollah Khomeini. How right he was. There isn't -- just look not at the hysterical faces of those frenzied mobs in Rawalpindi or Gaza, but simply at the dour hijabbed faces you can see in photographs -- with those Muhammad Atta deadfish eyes. Surely that is worth pointing out. There is hardly any science in Islam, and there has not been for a thousand years, that is, not since the gates of ijtihad were closed (for the best "Islamic" scientists, such as ar-Rhazi, were in fact freethinkers and skeptics, and always in danger of being punished, even executed), and since the pre-existing populations of Christians and Jews, who were the translators of those works of Greek science that a convert like Stephen Schwartz makes such exaggerated mention of, when any histories of science written today devote, on average, 1% of their text (I have checked) to the so-called "enormous discoveries" that Muslims routinely like to site, and lazy non-Muslims often accept or parrot, because they figure that it is just too time-consuming to go and look up the real significance of "Islamic science." For more on this, one could consult the book by Rodney Stark on why modern science developed in Christian Europe, and not under Islam, nor in China. And for still more, one can find on-line the exchanges on the reasons for the decline of science in Islamic societies, between the sober historian of science Toby Huff, and the hysterical George Saliba, eager to protect Islam at all costs, his defensiveness ever more shrill and absurd as he attempts to impugn Huff's motives for even considering what is, after all, a major question: why, after a few centuries, did science under Islam (not "islamic science") disappear, save for a handful of astronomers who did not, pace Saliba, anticipate Copernicus (again, the confusion of history with self-esteem studies, that so many Muslim and Arab professors seem to do, is quite extraordinary).

No science, no art, no music, no humor. A vehicle for Arab linguistic and cultural imperialism. A long record of enslaving blacks, in the cruelest and most damaging of all the slave trades anywhere in the world. And finally, the possiblity of enrolling southern Sudanese and Nigerian and other black African Christians, in a counter-Da'wa campaign. The government, or private foundations, would do well to fund all this.

It can be done. After all, everything I have written above has one supreme virtue -- it is all true. Unlike those conducting Da'wa, we who wish to bring the theory and practice of Islam to public attention do not have to omit or obfuscate. It is those conducting Da'wa who have to do that.

Here, as a kind of addendum, is an excerpt from Andrew Bostom's article at TheAmericanThinker.com on post-Jihad enslavement of non-Muslims:

"Clement Huart, writing in the early 20th century (1907), observed that slaves, continued to be the most important component of the booty acquired during jihad campaigns or razzias: [7]
Not too long ago several expeditions crossed Amoû-Deryâ, i.e. the southern frontier of the steppes, and ravaged the eastern regions of Persia in order to procure slaves; other campaigns were launched into the very heart of unexplored Africa, setting fire to the inhabited areas and massacring the peaceful animist populations that lived there.

Willis characterizes the timeless Islamic rationale for the enslavement of such “barbarous” African animists, as follows:

…as the opposition of Islam to kufr erupted from every corner of malice and mistrust, the lands of the enslavable barbarian became the favorite hunting ground for the “people of reason and faith”—the parallels between slave and infidel began to fuse in the heat of jihad. Hence whether by capture or sale, it was as slave and not citizen that the kafir was destined to enter the Muslim domain. And since the condition of captives flowed from the status of their territories, the choice between freedom and servility came to rest on a single proof: the religion of a land is the religion of its amir (ruler); if he be Muslim, the land is a land of Islam (dar al-Islam); if he be pagan, the land is a land of unbelief (dar al-kufr). Appended to this principle was the kindred notion that the religion of a land is the religion of its majority; if it be Muslim, the land is a land of Islam; if it be pagan, the land is a land of kufr, and its inhabitants can be reckoned within the categories of enslavement under Muslim law. Again, as slavery became a simile for infidelity, so too did freedom remain the signal feature of Islam…The servile estate was hewn out of the ravaged remains of heathen villages - from the women and children who submitted to Islam and awaited their redemption…[according to Muslim jurist] al-Wanshirisi (d.1508), slavery is an affliction upon those who profess no Prophecy, who bear no allegiance to religious law. Moreover, slavery is an humiliation - a subjection- which rises from infidelity.
Based on his study and observations of Muslim slave razzias gleaned while serving in the Sudan during the Mahdist jihad at the close of the 19th century, Winston Churchill wrote this description (in 1899):

all [of the Arab Muslim tribes in The Sudan], without exception, were hunters of men. To the great slave markets of Jeddah a continual stream of negro captives has flowed for hundreds of years. The invention of gunpowder and the adoption by the Arabs of firearms facilitated the traffic…Thus the situation in the Sudan for several centuries may be summed up as follows: The dominant race of Arab invaders was increasingly spreading its blood, religion, customs, and language among the black aboriginal population, and at the same time it harried and enslaved them…The warlike Arab tribes fought and brawled among themselves in ceaseless feud and strife. The negroes trembled in apprehension of capture, or rose locally against their oppressors.

All these elements of jihad slavery- its juridical rationale, employment as a method of forcible Islamization (for non-Muslims in general, and directed at Sub-Saharan African Animists, specifically), and its association with devshirme-like levies of adolescent males for slave soldiering- are apparent in the contemporary jihad being waged against the Animists and Christians of southern Sudan, by the Arab Muslim-dominated Khartoum regime.

Extent and Persistence
The scale and scope of Islamic slavery in Africa are comparable to the Western trans-Atlantic slave trade to the Americas, and as Willis has observed (somewhat wryly), the former “…out-distances the more popular subject in its length of duration.” Quantitative estimates for the trans-Atlantic slave trade (16th through the end of the 19th century) of 10,500,000 (or somewhat higher), are at least matched (if not exceeded by 50%) by a contemporary estimate for the Islamic slave trade out of Africa. Professor Ralph Austen’s working figure for this composite of the trans-Saharan, Red Sea, and Indian Ocean traffic generated by the Islamic slave trade from 650 through 1905 C.E., is 17,000,000. Moreover, the plight of those enslaved animist peoples drawn from the savannah and northern forest belts of western and central Africa for the trans-Saharan trade was comparable to the sufferings experienced by the unfortunate victims of the trans-Atlantic slave trade."

I have not retained his footnote numbers, nor the footnoes, but googling "Andrew Bostom" and "Jihad Slavery" should bring the whole piece up. The entire history of Islam is also the history of slavery -- the enslavement, without exception, of all those conquered, and the release of those not killed, or immediately converted, only where they were placed in the status of permanent humiliation, degradation, and insecurity that is that prescribed by the "dhimma" or the so-called "Pact" with its terms in fact dictated entirely by Muslims.

Slaves from Africa, slaves from Western Europe (those Arab corsairs, raiding up and down the coasts for hundreds of years), slaves from Eastern Europe (millions of Slavs, and hundreds of thousands of women from Georgia and Circassia). The chief booty of the Jihad was, in fact, the slave -- and Islam itself continues to recognize, as it must, the propriety, the rightness of slavery, for it is in the Qur'an, and sanctioned by the practice of Muhammad, uswa hasana, that best of men who was also a slave-owner. As the truth-telling Saudi clerics have put it so clearly, slavery is an intimate part of Islam, and can never be abolished.

Very true. Let us make sure that would-be converts to Islam in American prisons are made aware of that doctrine, and of what populations are most likely to be in the future, as they were in the past, enslaved under Islam.

How IRONIC. Murdering Fanatics going to the source of finding murdering criminals to become fanatics.

ISLAM IN PRISONS PROMOTING EVIL
Where's a good spot to recruit angry and bored young men? The answer, it seems, is in prison where radical Islamic representatives have been very busy. Here's the story from the WSJ.

American Prisons Become Political, Religious Battleground Over Islam
AP ^ | 6/4/05 | Rachel Zoll

It's Friday on Rikers Island, time for weekly worship for nearly a quarter of the city jail's 14,000 inmates. The men, Muslims, file quietly into a classroom of white cinderblock that serves as their mosque. Incense burns to chase away a sour smell from the hall, as the inmates sit quietly on sheets stamped "Department of Corrections" covering the linoleum floor.
Imam Menelik Muhammad is delivering the day's sermon. As he stands beneath a Quranic prayer on the wall facing Mecca, he urges the prisoners to reform. "You will not be considered a Muslim," he admonishes, "unless people are considered safe from your hands and your tongue."
The FBI calls prisons "fertile ground for extremists."
The reality is harder to read: Those on opposing sides have such divergent views they seem irreconcilable. Who's right matters not only for national security, but for the development of American Islam itself, which is struggling to be accepted alongside the major faiths in the United States.

Abdullah Rashid is a prisoner in a New York State maximum security prison. He says his newfound faith means that he is no longer alone and feel protected by his fellow Muslim inmates.

Abdullah Rashid: “There’s safety in numbers. There are a lot of rival gangs…a lot of stabbings. The lone wolf gets eaten up.”

In the United States there are more than 200,000 Muslim inmates. Many are black converts searching for an alternative to Christianity which they rejected as the 'slave-master’s faith'.

These inmates are following a path made famous by Malcolm Little, a drug pusher and pimp, who went to jail for theft in the 1940's.

Little left prison as Malcolm X, a follower of a tiny black movement called The Nation of Islam. Within a decade he transformed it into a radical political force with 30,000 followers. Malcolm X was assassinated by the members of the Nation of Islam but his death didn't stop the rise of the religion he championed.

In less than a decade, there has been a radical shift in France's prison population, a shift that officials and experts say poses a monumental challenge.
Despite making up only 10 percent of the population, Muslims account for most of the country's inmates and a growing percentage of the prison populations in many other European countries, an indication of their place at the bottom of the Continent's hierarchy.
With radical strains of Islam percolating through Europe, authorities are unsure how to address the spiritual needs of the prisoners while guarding against the potentially toxic mix of extremist ideology and a criminal past. One result is often neglect, which officials say can be a still greater force for radicalization.

The 2nd AMENDMENT AMERICA'S ORIGIAL HOMELAND SECURITY!!!!

I hope that groups like the Nation of Islam are mitored. Some of the future terrorists will have originally belonged to NOI before joining Wahabi or Shi'ite extremist groups.

To add a little to Hugh's exposition on slavery as part of GrIslam this is a quote from a BBC debate "How can we end slavery?" of 18 May 2005.
2005.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/talking_point/4514279.stm I may have posted it before.

"As a Muslim, I have a different view of slavery. Slavery is part of Islam. It is not racially based. Instead it is a fundamental aspect of the Islamic society. Westerners think slavery is a bad thing because Westerners treated slaves so badly. In Islam the master must look after his slaves even better than he looks after himself. The idea that slavery is always wrong is just another example of Western cultural imperialism."
Saeed Aktar, Birmingham, England

Here's a thought. Aren't the human capital that works at a job, pays taxes, and are the source of support of Muslims living off the dole in some Western countries technically paying the jizya? Couldn't these also be construed as "wage slaves?" And if they become the dhimma they are treated as second class and thought of a category of slaves...

Woooooooo! Hellooo fellow watchers! The good word is spreading! A newly enlightened friend from Ontario has recently had the wool pulled from over his eyes thanks to the good and brave work of people like Robert Spencer, Hugh Fitzgerald, Ali Sina, and many more! Thanks so much for the direction.

Interesting story: I was with some friends the other day and the topic of religion came up. Someone actually made some very complimentary remarks on Islam being a 'tolerent' and 'peaceful' religion. I couldn't help it, I broke out in hysterics. Everyone looked at me like I was some kind of ghoul. 'He couldn't possibly have done that' some were no doubt thinking. But... I repied: 'What? And have you actually read the Koran/Hadiths/etc?' Of course, none of them have. I have, numerous times (gotta know your enemy, non?). Apparantly, people in the news/school etc had told them so though. I politely suggested actually going to the bloody source(s), and also checking out what leading Islamic 'intellectual' centres (Cairo, Saudi Arabia, et al) have to say about their own 'religion', as opposed to what they hear on the CBC- Canada's very own version of the BBC- and equally gutless and dishonest. Straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. After a little bit of reading, I suspect that Jihad Watch and company might have some new friends soon along with me. Here's hoping.

Oh and Koran's in prisons? Brilliant! Might I also suggest handing out to all the psychopaths and predators copies of the Marquis de Sade's lovely book too. Sadly, it would actually do less harm then the Koran I suspect.

Peace to all my Kafir brothers and sisters!

How IRONIC. Murdering Fanatics going to the source of finding murdering criminals to become fanatics.

The 2nd AMENDMENT AMERICA'S ORIGIAL HOMELAND SECURITY!!!!

Posted by: Catherine at June 11, 2005 12:20 AM

Catherine,

LOVE Avatar's quote from earlier this month! He's so right! when you get a bunch of people who are already hostile to societal norms, which in the West are the expectation that we should respect each others' rights, then present them with a "religion" that that confers upon their hostility the moral authority to continue to disrespect rights, you can bet that there will be many, many conversions.

And about the 2nd Amendment--that's exactly why it was written! Three cheers for that comment!

Ooooh! Good thought, epg!

Remember Malcom X, evangelists and catholics have to support these people and fight against islam, I know that legion of Mary are doing a work in some prisons, I don´t know about protestantism but the moral war is an important factor in this war. Posted by: Franze

So you think a battle for god is the answer?

There are no winners in the battle for god.

Muslims outnumber Christians world wide and they breed like rats.

Muslims are fanatic believers and cannot be converted.

When Islam is attacked by Christianity, it only entrenches and reinforces Islam, and it gives Muslims eschatological and argumentive tools by which to retaliate. You haven't been in arguments with Muslims. They wipe Christian butts all of the time, especially with their version of history or even the Christian version.

The only effective counter to Islam is facts, historical facts, current facts and logic.

And even there the road is a tough one, because religious believers are allergice to logic and reason.

I argue with Muslims day in and day out and they are masters at logical fallcies, unreason and sophistry and I don't argue religion as I'm an atheist.

No winners in the battle for god, internalize that, and don't try to use your religion as a counter argument, it just reinforces their perception of being "oppressed" by descendants of apes and pigs.

>

EXACTLY! That is why Islam was so appealing to Arabs; pillaging and raping was a way of life already.

>

Sorry to reprint the whole statement, but I have had the same thoughts for some time! Remember the lady who was allowed to keep her unemployment while she went on the hajj? What an OUTRAGE!!!!!

Giaour-

Well said.

Save that post for reuse with future aficiandos of the "My God is Bigger than Your God" tendency.

Their attempts to impress 'true believers' with mirror images is futile.

You have to subvert their routines.

Throw them curve balls.

Merely batting the shuttlecock of Deity back and forth is about as productive as the characters in 'Waiting For Godot'.

Godot is an eternal no-show.

Move on to other methods.

Quote looney Hadiths and see how they answer them.

Show what a bizarre, unscrupulous crank their 'perfect man' was.

Otherwise it becomes a game of "War" with an endless deck of cards.

Build houses with the cards instead.
