A call for realism is in order. We can no longer tolerate sermons from mosques that justify slaughter or martyrdom. We can no longer allow fanatics to live in our nation or any civilized nation where they plan attacks or marshal support for attacks. We can no longer simply assume that through Herculean effort radical Muslims will embrace the essential creed of our civilization. On one side though i do NOT like having to take the extreem measures of banning ISLAM and kicking all the muslims out of the country..
On the other side i realized as i sent the US Army my dd214 to try and re-enlist that if we DONT DO THIS NOW I may not have a country left in one or two years..

what we need is more stringent, and enforced, requirements to both entry to this country and citizenship.

while we're at it, lets start looking at foreign aid and international assistance in light of what's best for US and with regards to the behavior of the recipients both pre and post aid.
having said that, it is imperative that, when deciding what's best for us, we get away from shortsighted political concerns and make the decisions based on what's TRULY best for the country and not whats politically best for an individual or what's politically expedient.
if the muslims can teach us anything besides not to trust their word, it is that a country must take in the chronological big picture and have a long-range vision, and make decisions based on the health and welfare of the country over the long run and not a shortsighted perspective with a view towards the next election.
nothing in the previous post should be taken as an endorcement of allowing murderous psycopaths hiding under the cloak of religion to enter, stay in, or even visit this country. but i think muslims who demonstrably reject the death-cult aspects of islam, show a real desire to assimilate into and participate in and DEFEND this country should be welcomed. a possible requirement could be something along the lines of
voluntarily aiding in the fight against the fascist mainstream through assisting in analysis; educating police and the military on islamic thought and rhetoric; and working with the intelligence family through undercover work, translation, and intercept.

A colleague of mine was in NYC Sunday and Monday and saw a group of shouting Muslim men on the streets blocking the sidewalk and calling for the downfall of the evil United States, and the triumph of Islam.
She was heading uptown and asked a cop for directions, and, after he pointed her up the right avenue, he then asked if there was anything else she needed.
She turned back to him and said (gesturing at the gesticulating Muslim Imperialists):

I have (had?) many friends in NY, but I have been stunned at the extremism of their anti-war rhetoric, and the bigoted way they choose to refer to everyone else in the US (common slurs: potato heads, hicks, rednecks, American Taliban...) I understand how devastating 9/11 was for them, but I am very disheartened by the cowardice of many New Yorkers these days -- total apathy and malevolence... No spirit whatsoever... Ala-sux, your report is chilling in its exposure of how callous the leadership of too many Western countries has become towards the well-being of ordinary citizens. And, alas, it's not just a Canadian problem.
Herb London is correct that we have been living in denial for too long, and that the Bill of Rights is not a suicide pact. My only caveat, though, comes from Mr. Spencer's account of Sheikh Kabbani's warning to the US two years before 9/11, in which it is clear that the Sheikh was dismayed over the growing inroads of the radicals. Hence, I would argue that while the Islamofascists need to be found out and neutralized (even if by hanging or lethal injection after due process of law included), those Muslims in the West who have shown themselves willing to live respectfully with the rest of us also need to know that they will get respect and the protection of the law in return.

I used to captain a neighborhood watch in Hayward, Ca (just south of Oakland) in the late 80's and early 90's.
We had a significant illegal drug sales problem on our local streets, and in one particular house right next to the elementary school. The situation ultimately escalated into a fatal shooting at that house ($10 deal gone wrong).
One of the very FIRST things I discovered in neighborhood watch was that many 'regular' folks were more than happy to get involved (provide info, take photos, make phone calls, etc.) once their 'fear factor' had been adequately addressed.
I don't know how much of a factor this might be in Muslim communities, but it should be addressed. We need their support and help.

The SAME applies to Islam. It is a seditious, civilian-murdering, political ideology presented as a religion. It is not religion as envisioned by the framers of the US Constitution.

A religion is a spiritual quest. It is not a political system.
Islam is both a religion and a political system, seamlessly fused. The Westerners insist on applying the concept of the separation between church and state to Islam. It cannot be done. It would be like trying to separate wet from water.
This is the point that fractures the Westerner's understanding and dealing with Islam.
The westerners think Islam is a religion, and support its expression; and doesn't know that it is a political system as well, which when expressed would murder their own.

The only religion that is not both a prescription for improving one's soul and a political system is Christianity. You can be a good Christian anywhere.
Islam and Judaism are both comprehensive, both include political systems in addition to providing moral guidance. Both fundamentalist Jews and fundamentalist muslims oppose Western democracy because they believe it is a corrupting influence, and that Western democracy irreconcilably contradicts the basic tenets of their religions.

So, if somebody Jewish decides to become orthodox, a fundamentalist, he moves to Israel and fulfills all commandments in the Torah. You can be a truly good Jew (as defined by the Torah) only if you fulfill ALL the commandments, including the commandment to settle the promised land of Israel (don't believe anyone who says otherwise).
If somebody muslim wishes to become a fundamentalist, what does he do? He engages in jihad, he strives to imitate the terrorist mohamed, and he cooperates with other jihadists to invade dar-al-harb and expand dar-al-islam to encompass the entire globe. The qur'an defines what a good muslim is---someone who fights jihad or supports the fighters of jihad. This makes jihadist and the muslim communities that shelter them as GOOD muslims---and, of course, very bad people.
Most of us know this by now. If only our governments and media finally acknowledged this basic truth already. This will happen eventually. It is sad that for this to happen, our suicidal political correctness fist must be washed away by rivers of blood of thousands of innocent Westerners, freely spilled by murderous muslims. We will soon start to live in fear IN OUR OWN COUNTRIES, just as Israelis have been living in fear in their own Jewish state for the past few decades.

the quote you refer to is a statement of my beliefs, NOT a defense of islam. i, unlike many westerners, fully grasp the differance between the all-encompassing, masquerading islam and the other religions, and in the differances lies the quandry. i am ready to make being a muslim grounds for being barred from entering this country, in a NEW YAWK MINUTE, but my conscience nags at me. yet if push comes to kill, i'll stand fast and deal with my conscience later.

I feel for you -- I am trying to talk to my friends too, and with as much clarity as I can muster-- despite the fact that they know me to be fairly liberal and open minded I am called a 'nazi' and a sick for bringing up the uncomfortable facts of life pertaining to what I have learned about Islam. THEY WILL NOT LISTEN...
I am stunned to find the tenacity of their willingness to believe any crackpot theory about why things are the way they are (most often some leftist BS swill) and their UTTER unwillingness to believe that this could possibly have anything to do with Islam... It drives me NUTS that the hardest ones to talk to are the devoted secularists and my female friends... I am utterly flummoxed that they don't 'get it...' despite all the brazen evidence in the Islamic world of how poorly they would fare...
I don't know how it was so easy for me to be 'mugged by reality' on 9/11, while they proved impervious... I am coming to the conclusion that if 9/11 didn't change their minds, perhaps nothing will -- it is extremely sad and dangerous.
