As Al-Qaeda in Europe created havoc in London, Al-Qaeda in Iraq carried out a murder of its own. An update on this story from CBC:
A website operated by Al-Qaeda in Iraq said Thursday the militant group had killed Egypt's top envoy in Iraq.
Gunmen seized Ihab al-Sherif in western Baghdad on Saturday. A threat to kill him appeared on a website on Wednesday.
The site now carries a statement claiming a death sentence had been carried out.
"We announce in the al-Qaeda in Iraq that the verdict of God against the ambassador of the infidels, the ambassador of Egypt, has been carried out. Thank God," the statement said.
We murdered a man, thank God!
The site also showed a video of the diplomat wearing a blindfold and identifying himself. It does not show him being killed.
Iraqi and Egyptian officials have not confirmed the website's claim.
Al-Qaeda in Iraq, led by the Jordanian Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi, had suggested it would behead al-Sherif. It wrote this week on its website that it had a "sharp sword against the infidels' ambassador."
The attack on the Egyptian envoy was the first in a series of attacks on diplomats from Arab countries. Gunmen this week shot Bahrain's envoy in the hand. In a separate incident, the Pakistani ambassador's motorcade was attacked.
Al-Qaeda in Iraq promised to attack the representatives of more nations supporting the U.S.-backed government in Baghdad.
"We vow to all the dictatorial nations that Iraq is not safe for infidels because God has empowered the mujahedeen," the website said Thursday...
"God" has nothing to do with the cult of Islam.
"Allah" is the name of a rock god.
The 'god' Islamists worship, who Muhammad served is none other that Satan. Muslims are just too stupid to realize they've been deceived by the deceiver.
Its really flucked up. They will declare war on any government but the one that suppresses them in the first place.
ANY religion that accepts the killing of innocent people is not worth having.
Plus they don’t want peace they want control, they want power but they try and pass it off as the war to save Muslims.
Iraq would be a very different place if the morons would lay down the weapons and help rebuild the country.
I have really tried to learn about Islam by reading some of the sites.

AL-QAEDA DIPLOMACY
The Arabic world has now gotten a taste of al-Qaeda diplomacy over the past week, as Iraq-AQ ringleader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has changed tactics. Instead of just blowing up Iraqis in an attempt to demoralize the populace -- a strategy that clearly has backfired -- he has now turned his guns and bombs on diplomats posted to Iraq from neighboring Middle East countries:
Gunmen fired on a convoy carrying Pakistan's envoy to Iraq on Tuesday in the third attack on a senior diplomat in three days, police sources said.
The sources said two cars of gunmen fired at the convoy in the wealthy Mansour district of Baghdad but sped off after guards returned fire. Nobody was reported hurt, they said.
Earlier in the day, Islamist terrorists wounded the envoy from Bahrain in another spray of gunfire. This follows the kidnapping of the Egyptian ambassador on Saturday, demonstrating that Zarqawi has not just declared war on democracy in Iraq, but on the entire Arabic world. The lunatics intend on destabilizing Iraq, and if it can't terrorize the Iraqis themselves -- hardened by Saddam's decades of torture, rape, and murder -- then it will try cutting off the new democratic government from the global community.
It's difficult to devise a dumber strategy than this, and it reeks of desperation. Some of these countries have significant sympathy in their population for AQ's goals in the region. However, these attacks not only risk alienating their less-lunatic enables in the Middle East, they threaten to turn Arabic governments from positions of benign neglect to active and deadly opposition to AQ and its supporters. No government will blithely allow its envoys to become targets for Islamists, no matter how sympathetic they might be.
Zarqawi must know this -- he's crazy, but so far we've seen no evidence that he's stupid. To go out of his way to antagonize countries like Egypt and Bahrain, he must realize that all other options have run their course and have failed. He risks accomplishing what George Bush has tried for years: uniting Arabs in the Middle East to fight terrorism and to support democracy, specifically in Iraq. Tuesday, July 5, 2005

Interesting comment Mullahmasher - if you've read any of the Sunni literature (and I recommend it), you might have come across a fellow named Rasulallah. He's supposed to be the most or second most major prophet in Sunni islam, but his resume reads like the classical description of Lucifer: always smells like perfume, magical powers over the moon, never sweats, etc etc. It's an interesting theological question. The main point being: who was Mohammed really talking to, if he was talking to anyone? Scary thought.
