When is a terrorist not a terrorist? When he is on the BBC, of course. Where - according to the corporation's editorial guidelines - "the word 'terrorist' itself can be a barrier rather than aid to understanding". Bomber, attacker, insurgent, militant - all are fine by the Beeb because they carry no "emotional or value judgments". And heaven forbid anyone get emotional about the deaths of at least 52 people in the London bombings last week.Within hours of the explosions, a memo was sent to senior editors on the main BBC news programmes from Helen Boaden, head of news. While she was aware "we are dancing on the head of a pin", the BBC was very worried about offending its World Service audience, she said.
BBC output was not to describe the killers of more than 50 in London as "terrorists" although - nonsensically - they could refer to the bombings as "terror attacks". And while the guidelines generously concede that non-BBC should be allowed to use the "t" word, BBC online was not even content with that and excised it from its report of Tony Blair's statement to the Commons.
They're not worried about offending their World Service audience.
The only thing I can think of, is that there are muslims in the highest echelon of the BBC.
Hey, Brits out there, why not organise a campaign against the BBC with a motif - "A terrorist by any other name...", "Truth, not Appeasement!", "With us or against us"? Billboards or newspaper adspace seems apt as a vehicle. Even better a demonstration with placards etc bang n front of the London BBC HQ would be great. Of course, easier said than done for someone sitting across the pond but hey, maybe its worth a thought.

The BBC news team suffer from a dangerous combination of cognitive dissonance, marxist hangover, Israelophobia and multicultism. Frank Gardner, a middle east correspondent was crippled by gunshot wounds in Saudi Arabia. In a BBC interview he described telling the terrorists, i mean 'misguided criminals' (John Simpson's term for terrorists), that he was a muslim and should be spared. He even showed them a copy of the Koran he always carried around with him.
Watching this wheelchair bound reporter interviewed on the BBC, telling the world he sincerely believed Islam was a peaceful religion was truly an amazing excercise in self delusion.
I believe the daughter of one of the chairman is now muslim.

My guess is that they are probably compiling names of everyone that has ever sent an islam critical mail. The response to terror in London is a sickening 'vigil' with a speech by 'sir' Iqbal Sacranie explaining how Allah (using the way the devout pronounce it Allaaha)says that those who destroy one life is as if they destroyed an entire peoples. This outright lie quoted out of context from the Koran 5.32 was followed by cheers from multiculti londoners as they next enjoyed a poem by a hijab cladded bint and an ethnic poet incidently mentioning about slavery in British history.
Try and tell me that we are not completely screwed here. The politicians reward terror with 9 billion to the palestian 'people', impose a law where we can no longer criticise a religion and whose interior minister Charles Clark dismisses outright a suggestion by France that all mosques should be under surveillance. Where else does he propose surveillance? In a synagogue? at the WI?
There are no politicians who are even standing in the shadows ready to take on this issue of biblical proportions. Even the right wingers like Boris Johnson follow the neo con line where if we give them freedom they will stop killing us. He of course supports the entry of Turkey into the EU. Guess who will be the real turkies when the that happens. We are being stuffed by school teachers, university professors, philosophers, media, government, the judiciary and the police.
Last I heard Al Jizyaree is still broadcasting to to the UK. Muslims are not handing over their terror supporters and the Mayor of London claims that there is no clash of civilizations. And the the mosque where the terrorists prayed has not been closed down and demolished.

By the way, the media is speculating why the 4th freedom fighter/insurgent didn't go into the tube but instead went onto a bus. It's obvious! He saw a Jew and a woman with bare legs getting on the bus. What freedom fighter worth his salt could pass up a target that good? It's really not complicated you know.

Way to go and great information. I even saw briefly the lie that Islam is against suicide bombing in that bit about suicide attacks a history, but they removed it about two minutes later as they possibly realised that due to the fact that almost all suicide bombing is carried out by Islamic terrorists (Tamils excluded) that they were lying a bit too far.
The BBC is now a complete joke, I am starting to look for alternative places for news without their lying spin, though I did see someone put out a report on Israeli's living under the threat of suicide bombings, I guess that person will be reporting on flower shows for their next assignment and we will get 100 reports of what it is like living under Israeli (PA) occupation.

You are correct. I can't remember the woman's name at the moment, but interesting you pointed this out as on a thread on JW this morning, someone said they couldn't imagine a Jewish woman marrying a Muslim (qualified Israeli Jewish) the way the wife of the Jamaican jihaddist, Lindsey Germaine, did. I responded that I couldn't site any examples, but expected that this has happened. Certainly, I can think of a few Jewish men with Muslim wives and girlfriends.
The BBC is engaging in intellectual dishonesty and they should be called on it. It is sickening to say the least. Spineless twits.
I had hoped that the London bombings would cause both the media and the populace to drop their veneer of political correctness between terrorism and Islam, I hope that can still happen.
Let’s not wait for the terrorists to destroy an entire city before we decide to address the root of terrorism which is fundamentalist Islam. But is that what it is going to take? Will the people of London, Paris, or Washington have to suffer through a nuclear attack before our governments , media and citizens wake up and take decisive action? I hope not.
The people must hold both the media and their governments accountable for the lies and deceit that they have perpetrated which has allowed jihadists to flourish right under our noses. The BBC, NBC, ABC, NPR, and so on must be held accountable for their capitulation to and dare I say abetment of fundatmentalist Islamic terrorism.
Freedom and Liberty will prevail against the tyranny of men and their hateful ideologies only if the free act and the liberated refuse to bow their knees again.

What can we do? One thing we can do is demand that NPR, bad as it is, stop carrying the BBC World Service. Simpson is a menace, and by the way, so deeply anti-Israel as to be a believer in a "Zionist conspiracy" that his friend Peter Hounam wrote up -- google "Peter Hounam" and "John Simpson." Or if you will, google "Posted by Hugh" and "Jihadwatch" and "John Simpson" and see if you think his extraordinary "views-on-Jews" entitle him to a hearing, much less to running the BBC World Affairs?
Vladimir Bukovsky, from Cambridge, who knows a thing or two about totalitarian regimes and how they manipulate the minds of men, was a few years ago attempting to lead a campaign to stop the required payment of BBC licensing fees. Has he been heard from recently? What of Trevor Asserson? Is there not, at long last, a campaign sufficiently large and powerful -- based on such things as the undeniably atrocious coverage of the London bombings (with all the time given to "good" -- Potemkin village -- Muslim Londoners, so very typical of course) and with carefully excising the word "terrorist" and putting in, Simpson-like, "misguided criminals."
Simpson's manipulation of the language and the truth is itself criminal -- but not that of a "misguided" criminal.
