Fallaci: The Enemy We Treat As A Friend

Wake up! Wake up! From the Mystery Achievement blog (thanks to Andy) comes this translation of a column by Oriana Fallaci that ran in Corriere della Sera:

Now, I ask myself: “What do you say, what do you have to say, about what happened in London?” They ask me face-to-face, via fax and email; often scolding me because up until now I have remained silent. Almost as if my silence were a betrayal. And each time I shake my head and murmur to myself: what else should I say?!? I’ve been saying it for four years--that I fight against the Monster that has decided to eliminate us physically and, along with our bodies, to destroy our principles and values. Our civilization. For four years I’ve been talking about Islamic Nazism; about the war against the West; about the death cult; about European suicide. About a Europe that is no longer Europe, but Eurabia, and that with its feebleness, its inertia, its blindness, its servitude to the enemy is digging its own grave. For four years, like another Cassandra, I’ve been shouting until I’m hoarse “Troy is burning! Troy is burning!” and I despair of the Danaids for whom, like Virgil in the Aeneid I weep for a city entombed in its torpor. [A city] that, through its wide-open doors receives fresh troops and joins complicit parties [inside]. For four years I’ve been repeating to the wind the truth about the Monster and its accomplices; that is, the accomplices of the Monster who, in good or bad faith, open wide the doors--who, like [those] in the Apocalypse of John the Evangelist, throw themselves at his feet and allow themselves to be stamped with the mark of shame.

I began with “The Rage and the Pride.“ I continued with “The Force of Reason.“ I followed [those] with “Oriana Fallaci Interviews Oriana Fallaci,” and “The Apocalypse.” And in each one I preached, “Wake up, West! Wake up!“ The books, the ideas, for which in France they tried me in 2002, accusing me of religious racism and xenophobia. For which Switzerland asked our Minister of Justice to extradite me in handcuffs. For which in Italy I will be tried for vilifying Islam; that is, for an offense of opinion. (An offense that carries a sentence of three years in prison; none of which will be served by the Islamist caught with explosives in his cantina). Books, ideas, for which the “Caviar” left, the “Fois Gras” right, and even the “Prosciutto” Center have denigrated and vilified me, putting me in the stocks together with all who think as I do. That is, together with the sensible and unprotected people who are defined by the radical-chic in their frivolous talk as “the riff-raff of the Right."

Read it all. Read it all. Read it all.

I believe an Islamist is right now trying to have her extradited to Italy from New York where she currently resides to face prosecution under some kind of blasphemy law that's been dredged up. A similar prosecution was brought against Michel Houellebecq the French writer for what he wrote about Islam in his novel "Platform." Fortunately, it was thrown out of court. Read it! It's a hilarious read but also uncannily accurate as he predicted that western tourist resorts such as Bali would be hit by fundamentalists.

the elegance and beauty of the spare. like a buddist master or a bluesman on his 6-string, so much said by saying so little, a panorama done in minimal stokes, the whole, stripped to its essence. the stark, crystalline impact of simple truth.

it is a gift

They elected a Slavic pope because of the crisis of Eastern Europe in the face of Communism, and now a German pope because of the crisis of (mainly) Western Europe in the face of the Islamic tidal wave. It is my fervent hope that Benedict XVI will act as the beacon for Western Europe to stand fast against the Islamic invasion.

Every time I think of the fact of Muslim populations in Europe, my blood begins to boil. Islam is nothing but Arab imperialism (as apostate Anwar Shaikh so eloquently explained), bringing the values of the desert with it (vendetta, misogyny etc). You see Islamic websites in various languages, such as Danish (islamisk.dk), they're peppered with Arabic words. The Qur'an is prohibited for translation into other languages for religious use, and prayer is in Arabic. Now, I'm a student of Arabic, and I see good things in Arab culture as well, but this does put a damper on the Islamists' boast that their religion is the cure for racism. It's monoculture long before the term "monoculture" was first conceived.

Islamic Europe would be a Europe without freedom, without the joys of life and love, without men and women talking with each other, without classical music (if any music at all), without sculpture, or any form of art except the geometric, abstract ones that Shari'ah constraints Islamic artists into. All the things that make the West great would disappear.

http://fjordman.blogspot.com/2005/07/marx-mohammed-pact_25.html

In 1939, the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact cleared the way for Hitler to start World War II. The Pact caught the world by surprise, because it was an alliance between two bitter enemies, Nazi Germany and Communist Russia. Similarly, what made possible the recent bombings in London, and the many more that will follow in Europe and the U.S., is the Marx-Mohammed Pact. Once again, two sworn enemies, Marxism -- specifically the cultural Marxism commonly known as Political Correctness -- and Islam, have made a Devil's bargain whereby each assists the other against a common enemy, the remnants of the Christian West. Given its history and what its adherents are doing around the world, Islam itself is a threat. Europe, and the United States, need to stop more Islamics (and, in the U.S., Hispanics) from coming, and at least some of the Islamics now in residence must go.London was only a foretaste of what those policies will bring to Europe and America. If we dare rip down the camouflage nets cultural Marxism has erected to blind us, we see Europe has two real choices: an infinity of Londons or second expulsion of the Moors.

DC Radio Host Says 'Islam is a terrorist organization'
CAIR calls on WMAL to reprimand Michael Graham for ‘hate-filled' remarks

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 7/25/05) - A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today called on a Washington, D.C., radio station to reprimand a talk show host who states repeatedly that “Islam is a terrorist organization.” The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) also urged American Muslims to contact the station's advertisers to express their concerns about the host's Islamophobic views. CAIR says it received complaints today from Muslim listeners who heard WMAL-AM's Michael Graham state:

1. “Islam is a terrorist organization.”

2. “Islam is at war with America.”

3. “The problem is not extremism. The problem is Islam.”

4. “We are at war with a terrorist organization named Islam.”

When contacted by CAIR, WMAL's Program Director Randall Bloomquist said he stands behind Graham. He said that while WMAL would not permit the use of the “N-word” or anti-Semitic slurs, Graham's remarks about Islam do not require disciplinary action. “Such hate-filled and inflammatory remarks only serve to encourage those who would turn bigoted views into violent or discriminatory actions against ordinary American Muslims,” said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper.

“Reasoned discussion on issues related to terrorism should be encouraged, but extremist anti-Muslim rhetoric harms our nation's image worldwide and serves as a recruiting tool for terrorists.”

Hooper said CAIR is asking American Muslims and other people of conscience to contact WMAL advertisers and express their concerns about Graham's remarks. Last year, CAIR challenged on-air remarks by Graham that seemed to make an implicit call for violence against Muslims.

He said: “I don't wanna say we should kill ‘em all [Muslims], but unless there's reform [within Islam], there aren't a lot of other solutions that work in the ground struggle for survival.” (Graham later claimed he was only referring to so-called “Islamists,” but the context of the quote indicated otherwise.) Graham also said: “Would you hire an Arab-Muslim group for a friend's daughter's Bat Mitzvah, I wouldn't, if you would you're a dope, that's not bigotry, that completely reasonable smart discrimination.”

Graham's remarks were highlighted in the announcement of CAIR's “Hate Hurts America” campaign designed to counter anti-Muslim hate on radio talk shows.

Londongirl

The Houellebecq victory was important. But with the demographics in France as they are, it may be seen as a phyrrhic one. With every year that passes, the Muslim minority grows and, with it, pressure to diminish free speech in the name of 'protection' for Islam.

Houellebecq himself lives in rural isolation in the far west of Ireland; if you were looking to escape to the least Islamic part of Europe, it's a really toss-up between there and Iceland, I would have thought.

- slowly, slowly the enablers and abeiters and plactors and multiculturalists are starting to be identified as tacit supporters of terrorism - unwilling to speak out against it, and even more unwilling to act against it. I am reminded of the kappos ( I think that is the correct spelling) in the concentration camps of WW2.

Stay strong Orianna. We love you!!

Islam is nothing but Arab imperialism (as apostate Anwar Shaikh so eloquently explained), bringing the values of the desert with it (vendetta, misogyny etc).

No surprise that the harsh unforgiving Arabian desert is a place where only the strong survive. Water and food are constant logistics problems and the only tribes that survived where the clever and ruthless ones. No surprise that the psycho-epileptic Muhammad cobbled together a harsh, unforgiving religion with a harsh, unforgiving Allah to lend him authority and street credibility. No surprise that the Koran is harsh and unforgiving of all non Muslims

"CAIR's “Hate Hurts America” campaign designed to counter anti-Muslim hate on radio talk shows"CAIR's 'Hate Hurts America'"
-- from a posting above

Hate hurts America. Indeed. It is hurting Infidels all over the world, the hate which naturally flows from Qur'an (shall we count the ways, and the passages?), the Hadith, and the Sira. Why doesn't CAIR agree to a debate, a debate in which those passages in the Qur'an are carefully laid out, and the relevant Hadith read aloud, and the particular acts and sayings of Muhammad (Asma bint Marwanassassination,, Banu Qurayza mass decaptition, , Khaybar Oasis attack, little Aisha on her swing-set, and so much more) are all laid out, and then the CAIR representatives can explain to us exactly what they make of all this, and what they think hundreds of millions of Muslims would, naturally, make of such passages, such stories, such grim biographical details?

One looks forward to such an event, on prime time, with the texts put up or run along the bottom of the screen, so everyone can "understand Islam" -- and understand as well the techniques of Taqiyya and Tu-Quoque. It really is not a difficult task.

May God bless you Oriana!

And may he keeps us all strong in face of ruthless and perverted enemy.

But I have a suggestion.

Let us do something useful here. Oriana has done a lot with her books and her clear stance. We Europeans need to do the same thing. In my opinion there is a weak point in enemy lines - the media. Should we be able to gain more space in media for the truth, the politicians will HAVE to follow us. They are profesional artists. They will do, what media makes them to do. All of you here -do you have any idea where to strike - internet itself is not enogh. We need television to warn the people. Again and again.

If they realize the danger they shall act. But how to penetrate media ?

Unfortunately I find Fallaci's style very off-putting. I don't know if it's the translation, but it just doesn't seem to flow well. And she keeps changing the subject and ranting.

Overall she's right about Islam, but I can't really warm to her writing.

Michael
"Every time I think of the fact of Muslim populations in Europe, my blood begins to boil. Islam is nothing but Arab imperialism"

I can sympathze with your anger. This map makes bleak reading but is not intended to curtle your blood anymore so than already is.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,22989-1708506,00.html

Does anyone know if any studies have been done to determine the percentage of population when muslim minorities begin in earnest their imperialist takeover of their host society? According to this map, France will be the first to reach this "critical mass".

I have also read Anwar Shaikh's books and he makes a compelling arguement about arab imperialism. For those that haven't read his books, I urge you to as they are online, free, realitively fast reads and you will come away with a better understanding of islam.

RAGE
I wholehearedly agree our point of view is not reaching the masses. My idea is to find a coalition (or rich daddy)who will help fund a 24/7 TV channel beamed free to air around the globe exposing the islamist agenda and their evil deeds perpetuated to date. Call it a history/current events channel if you will and it will have the islamists up in arms, the moderates protesting by the millions and the masses riveted to their new found informational source. I hope to see my dream come true one day.

Suicide bombing suspect 'on welfare six years'
Sydney Morning Herald ^ | July 26, 2005

Police searched a north London flat thought to be a bomb-making factory as newspapers claimed that two suspects in the city's bus and Tube bomb attacks are asylum seekers who have received thousands of pounds in state welfare payments.

Officers raided a housing estate in north London used by at least one of the suspected bombers

Newspapers today said one suspect had lived in a flat on the estate and had claimed nearly $53,000 of state benefits to pay the rent over six years.

Under the headline "Bomber on Benefits", the Sun said 24-year-old Yasin Hassan Omar - named as one of the suspects pictured in security camera footage - helped plot the July 21 attacks while living in the flat.

It said the Home Office was checking his immigration status.

The Daily Mail said at least two of the suspects were believed to have entered Britain as asylum seekers from East Africa and had received state welfare payments.

Immigration was a major political battleground when Britain held national elections in May, with many voters concerned about overcrowded public services and housing shortages.

Michael Howard, leader of the main opposition Conservative Party, accused Blair at the time of "pussyfooting" on immigration and said people wanted stricter controls. Opponents accused him in turn of playing the "race card".

Another ascerbically brilliant treatise from a remarkable lady.

As a long-time admirer of John-Paul II, I too am mystified by the one critical defect in his papacy, which was the inability or unwillingness to confront Islamic intolerance and the persecution of Christians within Dar ul Islam. Perhaps his was the voice of temporal impotence; perhaps he was the recipient of bad advice. What a contrast to his courageous challenge of Communism.

What John-Paul seemed to miss is something Robert Spencer obviously hasn't.....and that I keep telling the uninitiated in my small universe: The Western world's obsequious validation of Islam is constricting the operating room of Muslim reformists and therefor retarding the process of reform in the Muslim world.

As long as Islam stands above criticism in the West, Muslim reformers are that much more isolated and exposed in their herculian task of de-fanging a virulently intolerant religion.

In order to honor Fallaci, I plan on adopting her useful descriptive phase of Islam:

"Islamic Nazism".

Is there a more precise description of Jihadi Islam?

Thanks too to "someguy" who made his superb translation available to all.

I almost wish Falacci would go to Italy and make a Grand show trial, in the Scopes "Monkey" vein, of this colossal Euro-folly.

It would spread the word about Moslem empire-building and their infiltrating fanaticism far more effectively than her mere books.

Italians love theatrics, histrionics and operatic gestures. She could play the paparazzi like the cheap violin that they are.

And could put her last good shot in the gut of Islamic Imperialism with such a Continental Media Coup of:

"The Trial of Europe's Conscience!".

I hope she thinks about it seriously.

Before mere Time silences this courageous woman.

(It has worked to get the message out in other courtrooms.)

I "read it all", barely, and found it to be the usual whining, doomsday, wholesale crap you all love to consume. Granted, there are points in her(your) argument but you also glaze over many, many, many other issues with your well-soaked paint brushes. Perhaps it is in this broad-stroke painting that lies your fatal weakness and susequent dismissal?

I'll just hang around, eating my prosciutto, waiting for a balanced view and plan to surface. That I'll read...

Well, at least you admit you're a non-reader to date. Not a huge surprise, but refreshing nonetheless.

Imam Geoff

"Well, at least you admit you're a non-reader to date."

King: Wow, the conjuring just keeps a'coming. Didn't say that, never have, but what's it matter, Imam? I read the hysterical soliloquy and found it to be as useless as the rest of the shit you and the others post and ruminate over for days on end, achieving nothing. Soon enough, you'll learn that your diatribe is just as rejected and repugnant as the radicals themsevles are. Offer me a a balanced view and I'll 'read it all'

MJ:

I think "islamofascism" is a better term.

Fallaci lives in New York and writes in English as well as Italian; she won't use translators from Italian to English.

King "Tolerance" thinks Oriana Fallaci is "whining, wholesale crap"....oh brother. That tells me a lot!

Carolyn:

"Only bullets can penetrate a coffee-filter...!"

So true Terminator.
KT did you come here from Conyer's blog? You sound like a poster from that site.
