MULTAN, Pakistan - Pakistani police have arrested five men on charges of kidnapping and gang-raping a woman in the latest of a string of so-called honor crimes.The married woman was attacked because one of her male cousins had an affair with a women whose father disapproved of the relationship, police said on Wednesday.
"The accused say they carried out this horrible act as an act of honor," said police official Mohammad Mumtaz.
The incident took place in the central Punjab province where the
high-profile gang-rape of a woman, Mukhtaran Mai, on the orders of a village council triggered an international outcry.Mai was attacked because her brother had befriended a woman from a power clan, offending male members of the clan.
Violence against women is common in rural Pakistan where tribal and feudal customs hold sway.
Hundreds of women are raped or killed every year by men intent on restoring honor after behavior -- by the woman or a male relative -- deemed inappropriate in the male-dominated society.
In the latest incident, eight men kidnapped the woman, Fauzia Altaf, in the town of Chiniot in late June after the main suspect, Anwar Ali, got angry about an affair between her cousin and his daughter.
Ali was among the five men accused of raping and torturing the woman for two days. Two other suspects had absconded while one had turned himself in and been released on bail, Mumtaz said...
You reap what you sow as the old saying goes. And for Pakistan and all the other 'stans around that are wannabe arabs, you are reaping. To the civilized world, you are just reeking.
Will dont confuse "stan" for Muslim nations. Hindustan is also one of th names for India. Stan in Sanskrit means "place". Since Persian is also related to Sanskrit "stan" also has same meaning in it.

In the wake of the London bombings today, this article is likely to be missed by many. But it's enlightening to try and dissect the course of events.
What's really going one here? It's a bit like the childish game of "you stepped on my sand-castle, so I'll step on yours!" Only in this case the object to be damaged is a living, flesh and blood woman.
But, on second thought - that's not really what went on here at all. Let me go over the sequence again:
The initial incident involved an apparently willing male-female affair - no indication of any force or coercion. If this first female is the sand-castle of my analogy, she didn't get smashed down at all.
So - who was damaged in that incident? It wasn't a "who" - it was a "what" -the family honor!
Now the light is dawning in my brain, and I can see that in order to restore this honor, these five thugs kidnapped and raped a relative of the male in the first incident.
Now I get it!
You stepped on my sand-castle (dishonored my family by having a consensual affair with my female relative). Sooo ... I'll step on your sand-castle (dishonor your family) by kidnapping and forcibly raping your female relative.
It's easy to understand really, once you catch on. The living, breathing, feeling female is worthless; the inanimate cultural mores fed by Islamic codes of behavior are everything!

Exactly Jen, the primary focus is on the "honor", not on human beings: For Muslims, the individual human being doesn't exist as it does for the modern Western mind: For Muslims, the individual human being does not exist as an entity disturbingly, mysteriously, problematically, yet wondrously on the edge of self-sufficiency, self-identity, and self-consciousness paradoxically related to its various collective matrices of Society, Family, Culture, History and Religion, yet also moving away from them in its journey of freedom, self-awareness, doubt, wonder, anguish, dignity, conscience, creation, love and joy.
For the Muslim mentality, the individual human being is a pawn in the only matrix that matters: The Islamic Umma, a totalitarian web of complex rituals & relations among families, tribes, societies that holds everything in life in its proper place, with the aim to conquer the world for Islam, in order to deliver that world at the end of history to Allah for his Judgement and Salvation unto Eternal Paradise. Only after the bloody end of history, perhaps, will the individual Muslim (probably only the men) enjoy individuality as the eternal satisfaction of sensual pleasures in an eternal garden of material delights.
I know what hell is. To go to hell means to be reborn as a muslim woman.
