France ejects 12 Islamic 'preachers of hate'

A welcome bit of French anti-dhimmitude. And there is no legitimate reason why the British can't do this too -- except perhaps suicidal impulses. From The Telegraph, with thanks to Nicolei:

The gulf between British and French treatment of preachers of hatred and violence was thrown sharply into focus yesterday when France announced the summary expulsion of a dozen Islamists between now and the end of August.

A tough new anti-terrorism package was unveiled by Nicolas Sarkozy, the interior minister and a popular centre-Right politician.

His proposals reflect French determination to act swiftly against extremists in defiance of the human rights lobby, which is noticeably less vocal in France than in Britain.

Imams and their followers who fuel anti-western feeling among impressionable young French Muslims will be rounded up and returned to their countries of origin, most commonly in France's case to its former north African colonies.

Mr Sarkozy also revealed that as many as 12 French mosques associated with provocative anti-western preaching were under surveillance. Imams indulging in inflammatory rhetoric will be expelled even if their religious status is recognised by mainstream Muslim bodies.

Those who have assumed French citizenship will not be protected from deportation. Mr Sarkozy said he will reactivate measures, "already available in our penal code but simply not used", to strip undesirables of their adopted nationality. "We have to act against radical preachers capable of influencing the youngest and most weak-minded," Mr Sarkozy told the French daily Le Parisien.

a pair of cajones, maybe. i think the french may have awakened, Sarkozy might be the first good thing to happen to france since the flood of Iraqi saddam-dollars came to a screeching halt.

i recall an article about how all the rightwing leaders in favor of the Iraq war have been reelected or at least doing well, and all the leftist creampuffs like chirac, de villepin, and schroeder are on the ropes or done. isn't there a german woman on the right who's breathing down schroeder's neck?

correct me if i'm wrong, i may well be.

The other French leader who is also rising to 'save' France is Phillippe de Villiers.

EXTRACT...

In contrast to the feeble choice of political options opened to voters in the UK. France may just have the perfect candidate. Philippe de Villiers from the MPF is a center right euro MP from Vendée, whose public profile grew massively during the 'non' eu referendum campain in May.
While Sarkozy is considered by some on JW to be a knight in smarming armor, he is the politician whose lust for power has led him to encourage police to massage crime statistics to make him look tough. He has created the CFCM, a national islamic organisation funded by algeria and with a strong UOIF (Muslim Brotherhood presence). We don't have time to take risks with candidates who hide their true program, and although Sarkozy may be a closet islamophobe, he is very much an admirer of Blair, who has always been a master of style rather than substance. This admiration of Blair, makes him suspicious.
An initially nervous looking Philippe de Villiers appeared today, on a live TV news interview and turned the interview around to make his feelings on islam quite clear. He was intially asked to comment on the traditional 14th of July Chirac interview.
Philippe de Villiers contrasted the presidential garden party with the 234 vehicles destroyed by mobs in french suburbs over the 'festive' period.
Claire Chazal, the anchor was clearly not expecting this kind of interview as Philippe de Villiers continued smashing every taboo subject including the following "since the 7th of July, we the political leaders know that the third world war has been declared. This is a war which has been declared by radical Islam, and we cannot continue to remain impotent in the face of the gradual islamisation of french society"
He continued uninterrupted "We must urgently create a national guard, with three objectives. Firstly, protect national frontiers, whatever the EU says, and despite Schengen..secondly, take back the islamic neighbourhoods..thirdly control the mosques" He fiercely criticizes Sarkozy for funding mosques with state money, with one new mosque permit granted every week. He adds "I believe that Islam is the compost in which grows islamism, which in turn is the source of terrorism"

What is interesting is the new threat by Sarkozy to strip citizenship and deport Muslim troublemakers. All Western civilizations should do the same.

Wow.

Europe is waking up and couldn't do it faster!

OT
Was looking thru TIME's VE anniversary 60th issue standing in the checkout lane at Wal Mart's. The B&W photos etc all lend a classic, surreal imagery to another time and place. WWII was so destructive on collective memory that Europe withdrew into suicidal multicultarism and dhimmitude. Times are changing again and its time the EU stave off this islamist threat.

" Firstly, protect national frontiers,....secondly, take back the islamic neighbourhoods..thirdly control the mosques"

Take back the islamic neighbourhoods....Mmmmmm!!!!
I'm having a Homer Simpson chicken moment....

Totally off topic!
I received Mr. Spencer's book on Thursday and began reading it on Friday. I've found it invaluable in arguing the "case for the West".
I was also able to plug the book on a radio call-in show in my area. The "Best and Brightest" will hopefully all be directed to their local bookstores or online booksellers to make the appropriate inquiries and purchases. Thank you Mr. Spencer, for making it so easy!

"Philippe de Villiers from the MPF is a center right euro MP from Vendé..."

I wouldn't be surprised to see Villiers tarred with that brush of "racist right-wing fascist" that so many Europeans are labeled with who in rational and calm rhetoric dare to criticize Islam -- from the BNP to Geert Wilders to Pym Fortuyn to Carl Hagen etc.

Yes ,despised on this site, the French are doing something and have been for some time.
And of course they have been flagellated for refusing to believe that America could impose a democratic state in Iraq. and i hope they are eventually proved wrong.
But when these odious clerics are deported what are the odds that they will be welcomed by Ken Livingstone as honored guests of the city of London?
Britain's shameful record of collaboration with Islamic extremism will one day be taken to task and it will not be the French that will be branded this time.

The liberati in England blubbed loudly when the French banned the hijab yet the UK which has gone the furthest down the "multicultural" road - in other words encouraging minorities to despise their host country and not assimilate - is the first Western European country to produce home grown suicide bombers. The two can't be totally unconnected can they? Even that well known mouthpiece of Islam, the al-Guardianistan is beginning to feel uncomfortable. They've actually printed a reasonable article today.

I hope the link works. It's written by one Henry Porter.

Actually, Blair passed a law to strip trouble-making new citizens of their citizenship quite recently, on account of the problems caused by the likes of Abu Hamza. I believe it is currently being used against him.

londongirl: unfortunately, Henry Porter's name alone tells all that needs to be said. He is a well-known moderate conservative, formerly a TIMES writer, and certainly not a typical GRAUNIAD hand. I'm afraid that this is just a case of a "dissenter with the permission of Head Office", and that it certainly does not signal any kind of sea-change in the GRAUNIAD mentality - let alone that Robert Fisk and his chums are still out there waiting to pick up any left-wing readers who may suddenly find themselves shaken by any unmediated contact with reality in the older paper.
