Glad that somebody besides me has noticed. From AP, with thanks to Nicolei:
CAIRO, Egypt -- Islamic leaders Friday condemned the London bombings, though many said the United States and Britain, with their wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, are ultimately to blame for fueling militant violence. Increasing voices, however, say the Arab world has to stop adding ''but'' to its denunciations of terrorism....''We are not trying to justify, only to analyze,'' wrote Abdel-Bari Atwan, who lives in London and is editor-in-chief of the Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper. ''We or any of our family members or friends could have been among the victims in London.
''But we must emphasize that the wars being waged now against Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan and Palestine are the best way to recruit more terrorists and to expand the circle of armed attacks in the entire world.''
That stance was exactly what Khaled al-Huroub, a Palestinian writer living in Cambridge, England, said Arabs must avoid.
''It's wrong even to say this is a crime we condemn but we must understand the reasons behind it -- this could be seen as a justification,'' he wrote in the London-based Arab daily Al-Hayat.
He called for ''a clear-cut position, with no 'buts,' calling a crime as it deserves to be called.''
Bravo.
the old "but for" Afghanistan/Iraq/Israel, is of course, crock, or there would be Muslim voices around the world decrying Darfur, the sectarian violence in Pakistan and other hostilities in which Muslims are being oppressed or killed by other Muslims.
The more they talk the more they reveal about themselves. We all know the old adage of pulling the wool over ones eyes. That is exactly what their intent is. To potray themselves as good, peaceful, law-abiding "MODERATE" Muslims until the time is right and the sheep's clothing comes off to reveal the wolves.
This Abdel-Bari Atwan guy, editor-in-chief of the Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper, is unbelievable.
He is a regular guest on "Dateline" on the BBC, and I have not once heard him do anything but blame others for the actions of the jihadists.
He is truly pathetic.
"we or any of our family members or friends could have been among the victims in London"
BUT, none of you were, were you? no, i didn't think so.
and let me tell you something else there, laughing-boy, you want to justify something?
justify the air you breath and go start preaching
from your paper that islamofascists are the scum of the earth and "good" muslims everywhere should be falling all over themselves trying to turn them in.
as for analysis, when i want your opinion i'll ask for it, and don't hold your fetid breath.
but until i do, take your penny-arcade analysis and your "learned opinions" and shove'm up your
mohammed-hole.
well now, that was refreshing. it's been fun folks, off to chase the filthy lucre.
I posted earlier that these qualified condemnations by Islamic leaders and Imams
will only assist their journey to hell as they slide all the way down there on their "Buts".
When Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan were killed by a US plane bombing that mistook them as a terror cell probing the area, Muslims were quick to hijack the deaths for their propaganda
and anti-American Crusade.
Canadians knew the price of freedom and the fog of war, plus it was the Liberal Government that gutted the Military budget and put off
buying new equipment to harmonize the effectiveness of the NATO forces.
The scout team that was practicing night patrols
were never issued the transponders to identify
NATO troops by Pilots on night missions where
visual ID can't be done,Canada's fleet of FA-18 jets are so old they can't be upgraded to communicate with the newer NATO systems.
Muslims need to learn forgiveness in oder to break the endless cycle that has consumed them with a revengeful outrage that ends up killing other Muslims along with the infidels that Allah tells them to slaughter.
KNOW ISLAM - KNOW EVIL
Read it this way:
"It's wrong even to say this is a crime. We condemn but we must understand the reasons behind it -- this could be seen as a justification,''
What a big difference a little period makes, eh? When these people make statements like "Muslims could not have done this" what they are really saying is "It was the Jews!" Thereby sounding like they are condemning it in the Western press but when quoted in the Islamic press it sounds like they are supporting the terrorists. It is called "taqiyyah". Look it up.
