One of the results of terrorism: it creates terror. From AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
BOSTON - A flight from Los Angeles to London was diverted to Boston early Tuesday because three Pakistani passengers were acting suspiciously, but nothing amiss was found and the three were released after questioning, authorities said.United Airlines Flight 934 landed in Boston shortly before 3 a.m., Logan Airport spokesman Phil Orlandella said.
The three Pakistani men were taken into custody and questioned after other passengers complained that they were moving about the cabin, FBI spokeswoman Gail Marcinkiewicz said.
"Some of the individuals were in first class and another was in coach," and they were walking between the two sections of the plane, she said.
Listen to this - someone posted it on Jihad Watch.

Why do I get the feeling they were acting suspicious, simply to have some fun scaring the other passengers. I seem to recall a lady writing about another incident on her flight a few years ago. She told of middle eastern men on her flight acting suspicious also. Coordinated trips to the bathrooms constantly looking at each other...etc. They ended up being musicians and were cleared of any wrong doing. I think they too were getting a kick out of scaring the other passangers.
Look for poor, oppressed, mistreated Pakistanis to file lawsuit for harassment, humiliation, racism, discrimination, and violation of civil liberties in 5....4....3...

"At that point, another student took the podium. His name was Khaled, and he began to recount his recent trip to New York City. Khaled and three of his companions had gone to New York for several days in January. He told of how uncomfortable his trip up to NYC had been. He felt like he was being watched, and thought he was the victim of racial profiling. Khaled and his friends were pretty unhappy about it, and while in New York, they came up with a plan to "teach a lesson" to the passengers and crew. You can imagine the story Khaled told. He described how he and his friends whispered to each other on the flight, made simultaneous visits to the restroom, and generally tried to "spook" the other passengers. He laughed when he described how several women were in tears, and one man sitting near him was praying. The others in the room thought the story was quite amusing, judging from the laughter. The imam stood up and told the group that this was a kind of peaceful civil disobedience that should be encouraged, and commended Khaled and his friends for their efforts. He pointed out that it was through this kind of civil disobedience that ethnic profiling would fail."
Good link Caroline. Thanks.
One of these days - a group of passengers is going to tie them - to their chairs. Civil liberties should include - staying alive.
Thing is - these people are not only doing these kinds of practice runs - where they walk up and down the plane in a coordinated fashion – in the US – they are doing it in places like Egypt too.
That is why in this case they turned the plane around - as this is guessing game of a deadly kind. And one we don't have to play.

They weren't exactly cleared. Annie Jacobsen was the writer, Womens Wall Street Journal, "Terror in the Skies" series.
She has been updating the story since it happened. Good read.
Gamesmanship...these guys know all about terrorism on planes and how touchy the authorities are on tne subject. I dont fly, but I know about these things...These fellers could be giving everyone a test, or indulging themselves in black comedy, at other passangers and the airlines expense. Either way this is illegal or should be illegal. Why would creating a disturbance on a streetcorner be illegal most everwhere, but creating one in an airplane is not? I think there are such laws and these guys should be charged. Even if they were clowning around, they were terrorising some people.
If you clown around about a bomb, you get arrested...why is this any different?
Also reassuring to know that these poor, under privileged Pakistani people can afford to fly first class (well, at least some of them). The US authorities need to look more closely at travellers with European passports. I, for one, suggest to end the visa waiver programme. I'm willing to pay for a visa because this will increase security no end. Not everyone with a European passport is European - we need to keep this in mind all the time.
