Wow, them's fightin' words! Bravo, Mr. Calderoni. Do we know more about this guy?

Please stop glorifying idiots from the League, Mr.Spencer. I have already had something to say about them in the past, so let me underline their qualities again. They are worthless allies, irresponsible, incapable of government, the scum party of Italy, the right-wing counterpart to the moronic Greens and Communists on the left. All they ever do is threaten to leave the majority for this or that; they have managed the epic of feat of making the ex-Fascists and Christan Democrats look good. No government with them in it can either last or remain united. They are thugs of the parliament house and the city square. If you cannot tell the difference between thugs and politicians, we may have a problem here.

These guys maybe the extreme right but their words mean that the center in Italy is slowly shifting right as well. That is good news coz going any more left means suicide for an embattled EU.

Interesting observation Paolo. I never heard of these people, but I for one don't care for making an alliance with anyone calling for the "criminalization" of Islam. Not only because it opens a legal can of worms, but mainly because at this point they are tilting at windmills. Such laws just won't get passed in the near future, and we need some big changes TODAY.

The people who call for the "criminalization" of Islam may get their way if a thermonuclear device goes off in a major U.S. city, but under the present circumstances, it just ain't going to happen.

We need some serious measures that can be enacted ASAP. I propose a litmus test of all Muslim immigrants (visa applicants and resident aliens) and all Muslim organizations to destroy the terrorist support system in America:

a) Any Muslim foreigner who refuses to denounce Sharia law (on oath) will be either refused entry into America or deported.

b) Any Muslim organization that refuses to denounce Sharia law will be either shut down or lose all its religious credentials. Consequently, no legitimate Muslim organization in America can accept aid from a country that applies Sharia law.

c) Any Muslim foreigner who associates with a Muslim organization that has not denounced Sharia law will be deported.

These are reasonable measures that even many liberals can accept, and remember, Bush was almost not re-elected. If we cannot think of any legislation that liberals will find remotely palatable (at this point), we are tilting at windmills.

I don't care who says it, because it is about frigging time that SOME politician talked about declaring Islam illegal.

Until that happens, we will continue to drown in endless discussion about 'moderate' vs 'militant' Muslims, as if that really mattered. The Muslim strategy has always been to create a local population majority, waiting until it is numerous enough to start making demands, and then threaten if those demands are not met. The 'militants' get their strength from the multitudes of 'moderate' Mulsims who merely pray to the god that says "Kill the Infidels wherever you find them.", of which, of course they say they are ignorant.

We have the TOTAL right to define for ourselves what we accept as valid religion and what we reject.

May this attitude take hold here in the US.

One more thing I would like to add;

A) If our polititians focus on Islam itself, at least half the population will oppose them on the basis of the "freedom of religion." Forget trying to convince them whether or not Islam is defined as a religion. It's a non-starter. No legislation will be passed. And we can't afford to wait for another 9/11.

B) If our polititians focus on "jihad," keep in mind that at least half the population has been thoroughly brainwashed by the media into believing this is mostly an internal struggle. No one will believe them. This is also a non-starter.

C) The concept of Sharia law has not yet been as thoroughly pre-empted by the PC thought-police as that of jihad, and no liberal can stand in the way of any legislation that de-legitimizes the idea of Sharia without looking like a hypocrite (even to many fellow liberals).

The Council on Islamic Education are teaching our kids that Sharia makes up the "backbone of Islam."

If this is true, then this may very well be Islam's Achille's Heel.

Maybe it's time we took some concrete legal measures to make true Muslims show their true colors.

I like to think that we can make some progress toward our (ill-defined) goals by recreating a public vocabulary in this struggle:

We are not kafirs.
We are Revolutionaries. We struggle for the continuation and spread of our revolutionary heritage of the triune revolution: the American, French, and Industrial Revolutions.

We are not imperialists.
We are Modernists. Ours is a struggle for the good that has arisen from the past 250 years of revolution for progress in the world; progress not shared by the vast majority of people today; and progress that is unknown to all for all of our history until 250 years ago.

Islam is a poligion.
Islam is not a religion, but a fascist reactionary ideology pretending to be a religion.

Dhimmitude is fascism.
The Left is not inclusive, benign, caring, sharing, and peaceful: it is a corruption of Modernity, a turning away from our struggles in the past 250 years for progress. Dhimmitude is collusion with primitive fascism.

Our discourse has to change course so we see and that most know by the very meme of culture that Islam and dhimmitude are evils, just on-the-spot intuitive and unthinking knowledge of vile and demonic fascism is what Islam is.

Islam? Fascism!
Dhimmitude? Fascism!

Most people believe what most people believe. This struggle against the fascist poligion of Islam is going to be won or lost at the neighbourhood coffee bar and in the supermarket and at the watercooler.

My God! Those people are fascists, just like the Nazis.

The issue truly is one of educating the public at large about the true nature of Islam, and that it is not 'just' a religion.

Furthermore, if someone came down off a mountain proclaiming that god told him that all red headsare to be killed and produced a book delineatingthis god's will in detail, he would not be allowed to practice and preach this 'religion' by the general agreement of our society. If enough people learn the true nature of Islam, it too can be treated the same way.

How does pulling out of Iraq, as fast as possible, make Italy tougher on terrorism? What nonsense. I agree with Paolo, don't glorify these idiots.

We keep holding on to this hope that our elected leaders will say "Islam is the problem". Does not anyone understand how politics work? The word "Islam" or "Muslim" is not considered a religion, but instead is considered a race (this is, of course, ridiculous, but it is going to be very hard to fix this). The race card is one of the most volatile topics in western societies. To publically state that Islam is the problem is to risk being portrayed as a racist. No politician in their right mind wants to risk such a label and the incessant questions from scandal hungry reporters.

We can't expect tough words from our politicians, but we should expect them to NOT play the Dhimmi. If they do, vote them out of office. They will soon get the message.
