Malaysia 'teapot cult' attacked

It seems the "humiliation to Islam" caused by the giant teapot got it torched. From the BBC, with thanks to Bamsterkins.

Arsonists have attacked the base of a small inter-faith sect in Malaysia called the Sky Kingdom. The sect is noted for building a giant teapot to symbolise its belief in the healing purity of water, and is accused of luring Muslims away from Islam.

A lawyer for the sect, Haris Mohamad Ibrahim, said that about 30 armed men dressed in Arab robes had attacked the commune with Molotov cocktails.

No-one was injured in the attack, which caused a small fire.

"The roof of the teapot structure is... slightly charred, but since it is made of concrete, the damage is not extensive," firefighter Ahmad Fakarudin told Reuters news agency...

Looks like the teapot is intact. The Jihadi retards could only scorch it with their Molotov cocktails. The teapot people had better watch out though, for that Muhammedan dagger in the back. Sneak attacks, assassinations are Islam's forte and greatly approved of by Muhammad, the first Muslim terrorist.

That's the real problem. The tea potters are creating ex-Muslims. The so called ummah hates to lose some of it's caged monkeys

Not only can the Koran only be understood in the original Arabic. But all Jihadi wanabees must dress in Arabian costumes when attacking giant concrete tea pots

Ayah Pin's Sky Kingdom
The "Sky Kingdom" is a quasi-religious commune located in the eastern Malaysian state of Terengganu.

Its founder and leader is Ayah Pin, formerly known as Ariffin Mohammed (or Mohamad). To his followers, Pin is a reincarnation of everyone from Shiva to Buddha or from Jesus Christ or to Mohammed.

Pin himself claims to be God. Sky Kingdom's stated aim is to promote interfaith understanding.

A Pink Teapot, A Boat, An Umbrella...

The commune would not seem out of place in a Disney theme park. It contains an umbrella-shaped building about two storeys high, an ornamental fishing boat, strategically located faux Greco-Roman pillars, and the centrepiece - a pink teapot.

Ayah Pin and his followers - he claims to have several thousand in Malaysia, Singapore, Bali and beyond - say the two-storey-high teapot was inspired by the dreams of one of the cult's followers, and reflects a similar vessel in the sky which God uses to shower his blessings on mankind.

Followers who come to the village for the first time have to drink "holy water" pouring from a giant vase that is perpetually filled by the teapot.

The cult does not have any moral or religious strictures of its own. Instead, Ayah Pin, whose real name is Ariffin Mohamad, says members can follow any religion they like. He claims that all prayers will be answered by none other than himself, because he is God.

"All religions are basically the same," says Ayah Pin through an interpreter. "God teaches love. He is for anyone who wants to know about the world. You can choose whichever religion you want."

If a large teapot can lure Moslems away from Islam, the mullahs have to be very very worried.

These Muslim-flung Molotov cocktails, while they do not surprise, give new meaning to the phrase "A tempest in a teapot."

This is hilarious.

Think about this...it seems anyone who declares himself god will have at least some followers. Sound familiar?

From the tinpot to the teapot...

What makes this variation on Teapot Dome or the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, or something, a "cult" rather than a "religion"? Its duration, the number of believers?

The linguist Uriel Weinrich defined a language as a "dialect with an army and a navy." What is a "religion" if not a cult with a billion followers rather than a thousand, and one that has lasted, say, 1350 years rather than 5 or 10?

"These Muslim-flung Molotov cocktails..."

Why do Muslim terrorists seem to have no theological problem at all using the technology of the Infidel (including weapons) in pursuing their objectives?

Is there something in the Koran which explicitly or implicitly authorizes Muslims to use the technology of non-Muslims in the pursuit of Jihad?

metaxy,

I think you are confusing Muslims with the Amish. :)

f.g.

Since I'm love drinking tea, I'm rather partial to any religion which features a giant tea-pot.

Seriously Hugh, you're dead right.

All religions are nothing but cults which have gone mainstream.

f.g.,

Actually, Muslims resemble the Amish quite a bit in their regressive opposition to modernity. The only difference is that Amish don't explode or behead people.

So if Muslims oppose modernity so vehemently and hate Western civilization so much on meticulously theological grounds, why do they so blithely and easily utilize all the technology (including weapons) developed by the West?

Correction: There is one other difference between Amish and Muslims: the former have no doctrine of imperialistic Jihad.

Next time, the jihadis will use bombs instead of Molotov cocktails. Remember, they barely made a dent in the WTC the first time they hit them too.

Very good observation, Voltaire. I've often said that "religion" is a "cult" that succedes.

Muslims can't STAND anyone around them to question them or be different.

They can't STAND seeing anyone enjoy their lives peacefully.

What would one expect from a country that bans its citizens from travelling to Israel? (no doubt it is to 'protect' them from that evil Zionist state).

30 armed men attacking a teapot with Molotov cocktails.

I can't stop laughing.

Hugh says,

"What makes this variation..."

The varieties of Elvis Presley continue to delight and astound me.

I have no doubt that "his" (should it be capitlized?) aura will continue to surpass my all time favorite messianic musician group of Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Bonham and John Paul Jones -- of course, the great Led Zeppelin.

(none should take offense to this post for none was offered)

And "the kettle descants with a cozy drone..."

muslims are like "Death Eaters" - without the wands, of course.

Nice one Dennis.
