Of course, he never meant to hurt anyone. He was carrying bombs, you say? Yes, but such little ones! After all, Islam is a religion of peace!
Actually, he says he wanted to "sow terror," as commanded in Qur'an 8:60: "Make ready for them all thou canst of (armed) force and of horses tethered, that thereby ye may dismay the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others beside them whom ye know not."
London jihad update from AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
ROME - A suspect in the failed London transit bombings admitted Saturday to a role in the attack but said it was only intended to be an attention-grabbing strike, not a deadly one, a legal expert familiar with the investigation said.Osman Hussain told interrogators he wasn't carrying enough explosives even to "harm people nearby," the expert told The Associated Press. The expert spoke on condition of anonymity, citing the ongoing investigation, which under Italian law must remain secret.
Hussain, 27, one of four arrested bombers from the July 21 attacks, is suspected of trying to bomb the Shepherd's Bush subway station in west London, two weeks after the four deadly attacks on the city's transit system that killed 56 people, including the four suicide bombers.
Hussain was arrested Friday in Rome at his brother's apartment after police traced calls he made from a cell phone as he traveled across Europe. Three other suspects were detained the same day in London....
Hussain was referring to Muktar Said Ibrahim, 27, one of the other bombing suspects captured Friday in a London raid, the newspaper said. Ibrahim is suspected of planting explosives on a London bus on July 21.
"Muktar urged us to be careful" La Repubblica quoted Hussain as telling his interrogators. "We didn't want to kill, just sow terror."
Hussain also said his cell was not linked to either al-Qaida or the cell that carried out deadly bombings July 7, Italian media reported....
"He doesn't consider himself a terrorist," Sonnessa told Italian TV. Asked about what line he took when interrogated, she declined to be specific, but said: "He defended himself with extreme calm, coherence."
He probably considers himself a mujahid, but that doesn't make the article.
Of course, he never meant to hurt anyone. He was carrying bombs, you say? Yes, but such little ones! After all, Islam is a religion of peace!
*LOL!*
Priceless!
That's a pretty lame defense. I'm surprised he didn't say "the devil made me do it". No wonder he's fighting extradition to the UK.
Note the tone of admiration, "He defended himself with extreme calm, coherence", in the Italian lawyers statement.
So he can justify himself from the Quran, and thus are the Useful Idiots activated.
Cowards - pathetic snivelling cowards.
So no Al-Qaida? I believe him. He is just a regular and honest church going Muslim...He does not need any Alqaida but to follow the commands from his Koran of killing and terrorizing Kafirs.
One more example to justify my belief that the UK and US are playing the Alqaida name gaming to avoid calling the rat a rat....
Threatening to sow terror with 'infernal machines' which are guaranteed to cause mayhem and have the serious potential to result in casualties -even if they were not intrinsically lethal- strikes me as equal to fallaciously shouting "Fire!" in a crowded theater. Such malicious devices are ONLY created to cause injuries, if not death, and therefore should be considered as severely- in the law- as any literally-lethal devices. Especially during a time of ongoing terrorism.
(Not that I think these chemical-filled containers, topped with with blasting caps that fired, were anything but poorly-mixed, or unintentionally-inert bombs, calculated to sow mass-murder and chaos.)
It is time for the EU to amend their legal system and create at least one death penalty level crime: Terrorism.
Otherwise they are swatting tigers with a flyswatter. (And guaranteeing the homicidal jihadists a lifetime of free food, medical care, housing, educational opportunities, religious materials, legal aid, a prison brotherhood of like-minded maniacs, and the smug satisfaction of draining the kafir coffers for decades. A de facto Caliphate 'tax'.)
The guillotine makes more sense.
And saves resources better spent on the infidels' own children and elders and culture and future.
Instead of coddling the contemptuous cancer from within.
Now, just a darn minute here.
Osman Hussain, himself, told interrogators:
"We didn't want to kill, just sow terror."
But, his court-appointed Italian lawyer, Antonietta Sonnessa, said:
"He doesn't consider himself a terrorist."
Is anyone else confused by this?
Poor confused girl. LOL Have you seen pictures of her? She obviously doesn't know how to dress for court. Looks like a hooker. Antonietta would be ordered out of the courtroom here in Texas.
But that's all great for the liberal lefties. They have no respect for courts anyway.
Stand by for the usual leftist excuses. Make ready the barf-bags.
This guy, judging by his Rome mugshot doesn't exactly look quite your intellectual giant.
So much for the rocket scientist highly educated middle class terrorist theory.
get ready
Looks like there is more coming -- Islamic violence in the UK.
This from Ray Honeyford, the Bradford middle school headmaster sacked in 1986 for opposing multicultural education for his predominantly Asian pupils.:
Some of the children whom Honeyford taught at Drummond Middle School are now the same age as the older terrorists. He reckons that many of them - even if not involved in violence - may well have been "Islamised" through multiculturalism. Today, many more girls will be wearing hijabs or other forms of headdress than when he was in the saddle. "They'll be in the vanguard for establishing Sharia law - creating a kind of sacred space," notes Honeyford. "When Islam is in the minority, it compromises. But when it gets to a critical mass, it demands the right to set the tune on its own terms."

I'm sure all the leftist organisations and human rights lawyers will be tripping over themselves to represent this young jihadist and no doubt a "Free Osman Hussein" campaign will be very soon set up by these apologists for Islamic terror. As someone who used the subway everyday, if they wanted to sow terror they certainly managed it. We British are not accustomed to armed police with sub-machine guns on the trains as we saw everywhere last week. Islam has changed our way of life. They are unassimilable in any Western society.
Yes, that post about the sacked Headmaster is very true of what's been going on in the UK. People are running scared of being accused of "Islamophobia" by these Westernophobes and they can find themselves out of a job. You can't make compromises with people who hate you as the liberal lefties will come to realise - unfortunately it will be too late as we'll all be living under Sharia Law by then.
"Have you seen pictures of her? She obviously doesn't know how to dress for court. Looks like a hooker. Antonietta would be ordered out of the courtroom here in Texas."
Ditto for England.
I said this yesterday but I don't think the PC thought police are going to be able to put the genie back in the bottle now from the things I have heard said this last 2 weeks. Colleagues and aquaintances saying things they have bottled up in public for 2/3 years about the nature of Islam, and the nature of Muslim immigration and colonisation, other people who no longer believe the PC twaddle agreeing with them.
"Westophobia" - that's a useful word. The sooner it enters the language the better.
Check this out! From LGF:
Moderate UK Islamic Leader: No Such Thing As Al Qaeda
British police invited the most respected Islamic cleric in Birmingham to join them in a press conference promoting cooperation between Muslims and law enforcement.
They were shocked ... shocked! ... when Sheikh Mohammad Naseem proceeded to call Tony Blair a liar, and said DNA evidence is meaningless, the bombing suspects could have been “innocent passengers,” and there’s no such thing as Al Qaeda. (Hat tip: m.)
The most senior Islamic cleric in Birmingham claimed yesterday that Muslims were being unjustly blamed in the war on terrorism and that the eight suspects in the two bombing attacks on London “could have been innocent passengers”.
Mohammad Naseem, the chairman of the city’s central mosque, called Tony Blair a “liar” and “unreliable witness” and questioned whether CCTV footage issued of the suspected bombers was of the perpetrators. He said that Muslims “all over the world have never heard of an organisation called al-Qa’eda”.
Mr Naseem, who was speaking after police seized Yasin Hassan Omar in Birmingham, delivered his unprompted outburst when he was invited to a press conference with West Midlands police and Birmingham city council to help calm fears of racial or religious tension after the arrest. His comments shocked senior police officers. ...
To the obvious embarrassment of council officials and police standing next to him, Mr Naseem said the Government and security services “were not to be relied upon”.
He said: “Tony Blair has told lies on going to Iraq and in a court of law if a witness has proved to be a liar he ceases to be a reliable witness. So we cannot give our blind trust to the Government. To have that trust it is important that the process of law should be independent, open and transparent. I am also sad that unfortunately the impression has been given that Muslims are to be targeted in this war against terror. There seems to be a directive to target Muslims. Why do we not have an open mind about this?
“Muslim bashing seems to be more earnest than the need for national unity and harmony. Terrorists can be anybody - we will have to see [whether the bombers are Muslims]. The process is not open; the process is not transparent; the process is not independent. I do not have faith in the system as it stands.”
Mr Naseem is one of the most respected Muslims in the city and is considered a moderate. He has regular meetings with the chief constable to discuss religious harmony.
Mr Naseem said that while it was vital that terrorism was stamped out and that there was never any justification for it, the Government had not helped by going to war in Iraq.
Dismissing the Prime Minister’s insistence that the war had nothing to do with the terrorist attacks, he said: “Tony Blair … is not going to be perceived as a reliable witness. His comments could motivate someone to take the law into his own hands. Some people have been caught but I have not seen any evidence. The process of law is not open.”
Asked about the suspects’ DNA being found at the scene of the first attacks, he said: “DNA can match you, but that does not mean you are going to commit a crime. Thousands of youths are passing by and caught on CCTV, so how do you know it is them?”
After the 7/7 bombs I said that I thought Britain was beginning to rouse from its sleep and start on the steep learning curve it had hidden from facing up to for so long before.
I said that I could sense attitudes changing on the Liberal Left.
This is an editorial from todays Observer. This is the sister paper of the Guardian (it is the Sunday version of the Guardian) - a Leftist newspaper with a separate editor but the ideological soul mate of the Guardian.
There are encouraging signs that many in the Muslim community are being more vocal in denouncing extremism - many crucial leads have come from Muslims - but it needs to be absolutely clear that the vile anti-semitism and ludicrous conspiracy theories will not be tolerated. A robust debate about the role of the invasion of Iraq in fomenting anti-British feeling is crucial, but suggesting commuters bear a responsibility that justifies their brutal murder is abhorrent. This just isn't British.
This question of what is and what isn't British is crucial. Britain has tilted far too far towards multi-culturalism. We should encourage people to bring their skills, energy, culture and breadth to our country but those we welcome should not be allowed to live in cultural ghettoes. We should not aim to be an umbrella nation sheltering a range of separate ethnic and religious groups but a single nation with far more of a single identity. Core British values should be part of everybody's lives. There should be compulsory English lessons for new arrivals and a comprehensive programme of tuition, backed by significant incentives, for the thousands immigrants, some living in the UK for decades, who speak only Urdu or Arabic. And immigrants need to recognise that rights bring responsibilities. No one has a right to wear a veil in a playground.Faith schools run counter to the building of an inclusive British identity.
I honestly do believe that people are starting to wake up - that this leader is published in Britains leading Left wing Sunday newspaper, and sister publication to the Guardian, is very notable indeed. Things are moving in the right direction.
Term;
and this joker Naseem is still in England why?
Why is a able-bodied, 24 year old immigrant to the UK receiving benefits? Am I giving tens of thousands of pounds in tax to a government which turns around and provides money to terrorists who are planning to kill me? What is wrong with this pitcure?
Multiculturalism is a failed experiment. Immediately STOP all immigration from Muslim countries and deport all Muslims. Too right wing? OK... YOU ride the tube next to a 20 - 30 year old Muslim man carying a backpack. War has been declared on the civilian population and it's time we acted like it. Unless, of course, you are sheep who have no interest in protecting your life. Maybe YOU need to scrap your wife's and or daughter's and or son's brains off the tube station wall. Hopefully, the next massacre will take out leftist liberals.
" It is time for the EU to amend their legal system and create at least one death penalty level crime: Terrorism. "
We can't continue spending a million dollars to prosecute and jail for life each captured terrorist carrying a $50 bomb.
It's a bad investment.
$50 vs $1,000,000.
A quick and efficient death penalty is needed.
I saw the press conference in which Naseem spoke his mind live on SKY news.
He also said "I have yet to see any proof, that any of the people suspected of these bombings, are muslims"
There have been calls from minor politicians for him to step down.
Sooner rather than later I hope.
He is indicative of the problem we have with these people here in the UK.
From The Times
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2087-1715191,00.html
The Mohammed brothers Ramzi and Wahbi (oh how I prefer Doug and Dinsdale Pirana, they knew how to treat a female impersonator) tried to get the Imam of their local mosque removed.
"Ahmed Dahdouh, the imam of the mosque, said the Mohammed brothers were known for their radicalism. He said he was abused by them on several occasions. They called him an “infidel” and “apostate”.
"They used to pray on their own as they used to think we were not proper Muslims. In one of my Friday sermons I once said that Islam forbids terrorism. I recall Ramzi later came up to me and told me, ‘Why did you say that? It’s wrong.’ "
Oh yeah!
And on CNN tonight they proudly reported that the creep caught in Rome was not "acting in the name of Islam" but rather had "political motives..."
Mr. Naseem should be on television, FREQUENTLY.
Non-Muslims need to see this guy in action, FREQUENTLY.
And they need to start wondering how many others like him are advising THEIR public officials about Islam.
Myiironu
The thing that is wrong with the picture is,of course, socialism. The same thing that is wrong with the USA. Socialism is the FAILED experiment but don't hold your breath until it goes away. Wanting something for nothing is part of man's nature and it is especially attractive to cultures who don't even know how wealth is created because they are too busy hating.
Pismopal,
"... because they are too busy hating."
They are also too busy being a parasitic society. Can you think of ANYTHING beneficial to humankind in modern history that can be attributed to a Muslim country? Science? Medicine? Technology? Innovation? Literature? Art? Humanitarian Aid? Think hard. I can't come up with anything either. Nothing but death and destruction. Muslims have contributed NOTHING to modern times. Oil was dicsovered - and by luck of geographic location, Muslims lay claim. I snicker when I see Muslim women, dressed head to toe in black, chatting on a cell phone. Probably calling the NHS to make an appointment for treatment (at taxpayer expense, of course). Think of the chain of technical innovation and advancement that made that cell phone call possible. I wonder what Mohommed would say!?!?!
It is time for the EU to amend their legal system and create at least one death penalty level crime: Terrorism.
There was a time when people in Europe looked down their noses at the US because we have the death penalty.I wonder how many still feel that way where terrorists are concerned? Though some states have abolished the death penalty there is still a federal death penalty. The US Constitution establishes death as the penalty for treason against the United States. The threat of a treason charge was used to get "American Taliban" John Walker Lindh to plead guilty and accept a 20 year prison sentence.
Think living in a anti-death penalty state can save you? Think again. A few years ago carjacking was made a federal crime punishable by death if the victim dies. The family of a victim who was carjacked and murdered in a state without the death penalty went to the federal government because they wanted the death penalty to apply. The federal government stepped in so the accused would receive death if convicted even though being tried in an anti-death penalty state. Liberals are outraged but there is nothing they can do.
the crime is in the INTENT.

Yes indeed - it is called ASSASINATION - quick, relatively easy and at minimal cost - it is even humane (pain free - that is - provided we stay 'nice' !!).
1.2 Billion Muslims - with a minimum of 1 % extremists (THAT LOW ??? - yes - and pigs may fly !!) that means:
trial and prison term - $1m x 12,000,000 = (WOW !!)
assasination - cost is arguable but at least it is more cost effective than the above.
There again, if we go to 5% we now have 60 million - perhaps we need an "open season" (represents the MIMIMUM cost ?) - only joking .... but .... just what is the price we put on our freedom ? - seems from the above figures that our court & prison systems are not going to cope.
(no longer a tax payer)(=pensioner) DOG !!
SORRY - my quote from a previous post got axed (I used what seems to be 'special control characters') the quote was:
