FBI and law enforcement officials told ABC News the five men -- four illegal immigrants and one law enforcement fugitive -- were arrested Sunday night following a tip to the Newark Police Department. In addition to the subway maps and video, the men had train schedules and $8,000 in $20 and $50 bills.The men were identified as: Karim Ahmed Abdel Latif Ahmed, 21; his brother Mahoud Ahmed Abdel Latif Ahmed, 19; Ahmed Mohamed Atta, 30; Mohamed Ibrahim Gaber, 34, and Mohamed Palat Anwar Jozain. When Newark authorities converged at the group's location at 246 Ferry St., Karim Ahmed answered the door and agreed to allow police to enter. Officers said they noticed the maps, and video cameras and Karim and his brother agreed to a search.
Karim said he had the maps because he had a new job as a street vendor. Initially, Karim said no one else was in the apartment, but police came upon the three other men upon further search.
FBI officials said the men have no known link to a terror network but noted that none of them could adequately explain the items they had in their possession, the large amount of money or their reasons for being in the United States. Mohamed Ibrahim Gaber has been a fugitive since he jumped ship from an Egyptian flagged freighter in September 2000.

That the two brothers denied that anyone else was in the apartment when there were three others, quickly discovered -- well, I'm envious of the amount of closet space. But now the laughter has to stop.
Those maps, that $8,000...If nothing can stick, given our absurd rules, then may the INS find a way to deposit all four carefully and permanently back within dar al-Islam. Because we Infidels, too, deserve some solicitiousness on the part of the INS -- quite a bit more than it has of late been showing.

The Jersey City area is a major Islamic infestation in the North East. I predict that the next strike in America will come from that area. Although Brooklyn is another major infestation, Jersey City is more ideally suited as a staging area for attacks.
1) Jersey city law enforcement is not up to the task and is full of pandering idiots
2) Jersey is a much cheaper area to house illegal aliens, their chemistry experiments, and fanatical who could count on assistance from the local Muslim community
3) Both Newark and New York cities are a short hop via the Path trains
4) Newark, LaGuardia, and JKF airports are few miles away
I predict London style attacks on the Path trains and other transportation targets. Also, if they succeeded in procuring shoulder-mounted surface-to-air missiles, they would be able to bring down several aircrafts before they could be captured. I estimate that there are tens of thousands of illegal Muslims in this area that must be rounded up and deported at once.

Hugh is right. It's no crime to have maps, especially as a "street vendor". It's no crime to have cash, or video cameras. They don't need to provide a sensible explanation of what they were up to. In the best case, they will simply be deported. They are welcome to try, try again, until they get it right and avoid detection.
I hope their flight doesn't get diverted by mid-air turbulence to Guantanamo Bay.

I have this eerie feeling that these things are happening all the time, and are not being publicized.
Newspapers and networks like to sell their product. Aren't people interested in this? Or are our media so committed to a position of multicultural, egalitarian, ethnic-victim groupthink, that they can't bring themselves to cover stories that might, in their numerical weight alone, bring into question all of those same values?
In south Texas, about six months ago, we had the case of an illegal immigrant being caught at the Laredo airport with a false South African passport. I think she was Pakistani. She was stopped, as the story goes, because she had a one-way ticket to (as I recall) NEWARK, NEW JERSEY. She also had (could I be wrong here?) Eight Thousand Dollars. So, help me, maybe it was only Five Thousand. Anyway, this chic had been in the United States illegally four or five times. I mean she must have had a brand that said "courier" on her hindquarters.
She ended up at the Federal Detention Center in Houston, and then the story disappeared from Texas newspapers. Has it had any play in New Jersey? Did the money get through anyway? The illegal alien problem down here is so big nobody can touch it. They are everywhere.
So, about these Egyptians. What does it mean that they are illegal. Did they overstay a visa, or are they wetbacks from Texas?

Statistically speaking, Mohamed is the most common Muslim male name and Atta is a relatively common name in Egypt… The reoccurring of this combination of the two names is highly probable among a population of millions as would the name Michael Smith here.
I think what's creepy is the lack of press coverage from other companies. The article says 'ABC exclusive' but what the heck does that mean? This is realtively big news IMO. The story could show up tomorrow, but somehow I doubt it. But it's weird, all these other stories about leads in Britain and Egypt, you'd think that FIVE ILLEGAL EGYPTIAN NATIONALS WITH VIDEO AND MAPS OF NYC LANDMARKS AND CASH AND GPS AND CRIMINAL RECORDS would somehow make the cut.
Maybe they're just misunderstood musicians.
All the more reason to seal up the borders and boot all illegals.

Deportation is a nice suggestion but criminals belong in jail. They could then be deported back to the country of origin and become free to roam the streets and cause criminal activity there. We're not trying to move the war; we're trying to end it, (which, this way, is futile).

Man Charged With Hate Crime In Mall Murder

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — The fatal stabbing of a 56-year-old woman at a mall will be prosecuted as a hate crime because the suspect said he wanted to kill a white person, authorities said Tuesday.
Phillip Grant (search), 43, who is black, was indicted Tuesday on charges of murder, murder as a hate crime, and possession of a weapon. The June 29 slaying of Concetta Russo-Carriero (search) took place in the parking garage of the Galleria Mall in White Plains.
If convicted of murder as a hate crime, the minimum sentence would be 20 years to life instead of 15 years to life, prosecutors said.
A call to Grant's lawyer was not immediately returned.
In a 45-minute tape played at a court hearing earlier this month, Grant told police that he was fighting a race war and killed the woman because she was white.
"All I knew was she had blond hair and blue eyes and she had to die," he said. "(She) was not an innocent victim — because she was white."
Grant, who was homeless, is a convicted rapist who had served his maximum sentence.
