Hassan M. Fattah writes this in-depth article on the British bombers and barely touches on religious motivation at all. In the New Duranty Times:
LEEDS, England, July 15 - At Beeston's Cross Flats Park, in the center of this now embattled town, Sanjay Dutt and his friends grappled Friday with why their friend Kakey, better known to the world as Shehzad Tanweer, had decided to become a suicide bomber."He was sick of it all, all the injustice and the way the world is going about it," Mr. Dutt, 22, said. "Why, for example, don't they ever take a moment of silence for all the Iraqi kids who die?"
"It's a double standard, that's why," answered a friend, who called himself Shahroukh, also 22, wearing a baseball cap and basketball jersey, sitting nearby. "I don't approve of what he did, but I understand it. You get driven to something like this, it doesn't just happen."
To the boys from Cross Flats Park, Mr. Tanweer, 22, who blew himself up on a subway train in London last week, was devout, thoughtful and generous. If they understood his actions, it was because they lived in Mr. Tanweer's world, too.
They did not agree with what Mr. Tanweer had done, but made clear they shared the same sense of otherness, the same sense of siege, the same sense that their community, and Muslims in general, were in their view helpless before the whims of greater powers. Ultimately, they understood his anger.
The news that four British-born Muslim men from neighborhoods around Leeds were suspected of carrying out the bombings in London has made the shared dissatisfaction of boys like these and the creeping militancy of some young British Muslims an urgent issue in Britain.
The bombers are an exception among Britain's 1.6 million Muslims. But their actions have highlighted a lingering question: why are second-generation British Muslims who should seemingly be farther up the road of assimilation rejecting the country in which they were born and raised?...
Oh I know, I know! Let me guess, is it because of political frustration and the feeling of social alienation? Read it all in order to see the absurd lengths the New Duranty Times will go to deny the plain truth of the situation. Walter, you taught them well.
Terrorism is just the Muslim way of participating in the democratic process! It's the Islamic way of voting!! Now I get it. Clearly Islam and democracy ARE compatible...
But Muslims sure are unique in the West, and present a chellenge for us to understand! Perhaps if we can wrap our heads around these things the Muslims won't be forced by our misunderstandings to do some of the things we've clearly been forcing them to do! Muslims form a unique kind of immigrant population, and clearly we have a lot of learning to do to help them with their goals and to help stop forcing them to do bad things...
Here's a smattering of what I've learned so far about Muslims:
Other minorities in the West often choose not to emmigrate to nations which they hold in utter contempt while Muslims come to nations they utterly deplore regularly and in exploding numbers.
When other minorities in the West feel frustrated, they agitate for change and vote using pieces of paper. When Muslims feel frustrated they use bomb vest, beheadings, and hijack airplanes to cast their votes.
The more I can understand about Muslims, the more I can do to help the Muslims accomplish their goals -- whatever those might be.... It's not their fault -- It's OURS for not bending over forwards and doing everything in our power to help them not be so bad!!!
Sanjay Dutt?? Is this some sort of joke. Sanjay Dutt is a Hindu/Sikh name moreover Sanjay Dutt is a famous Hindi actor who was born of a Muslim mother and has been indicted in Bombay Blasts of 93
There are over a million Hindus and Sikhs in Britain. There are a million African and Caribbeans. There are a couple of hundred thousand Chinese in Britain. All of these groups are minorities, suffer from occasional racism or prejudice, and their youth go through the typical teenage 'alienation and disaffection' vibe too. So why the hell dont they strap explosives to themselves and kill as many people as they can? What is the missing ingredient? What the hell is the matter with people like Hassan Fattah?
And why is it legitimate to create a self-excoriating and tendentious narrative of universal complicity in Islamic oppression whilst to construct a similar narrative of Islamic violence, murderous tyranny against others is to be accused of 'Islamophobia'?
Why is Infidelphobia acceded to and indulged by these newspapers? What kind of sympathy and self-hatred bubbles within?
I have news for these idiots. Infidelphobia, the construction of a hateful narrative against the non Muslim world has unreservedly shown itself to be the engine of mass murder and destruction. It is a form of fascism. And yet the New York Times whines in sympathy?
The comparison with Mr Duranty grows more valid and explicit every day.
"I don't approve of what he did, but I understand it."
There's that "but" again.
"I don't approve of what he did, but I understand it."
here's that "but" again.
Zico...Why is Infidelphobia acceded to and indulged by these newspapers? What kind of sympathy and self-hatred bubbles within?

Now you are thinking. Counter attack taquiyya. They have their 'islamophobia' sword to label us, we can label them.
It will make them angry, not ashamed, of course.
"I don't approve of what he did, but I understand it."
here's that "but" again.
They are the Butheads
I don't support the dropping of nukes on Mecca, BUT if it is necessary, I am all for it.
I don't want to deport all Muslims from the West, BUT if it is necessary, I am all for it.
These people are forked-tongued devils; they can rationalize anything based on the decrees of a madman/murder/pedofile.
Never Ever Trust a Muslim no Matter how Nice or Logical He Appears. I cannot believe that I actualize believe what I just typed, but I do. Islam proves that multiculturalism is BullShiite. Everything Islam touches is instantly merde or dead. I cannot believe that people still offer apologies for these aliens. Detain, Deport, and Nuke
Well why didn't this rodent just kill himself?
He just so frustrated that he killed others as a way of getting rid of his frustration.
I mean that's what muslims do isn't it?
"Why, for example, don't they ever take a moment of silence for all the Iraqi kids who die?"
You mean kids that die because they get blown to pieces by scum like your good friend Shehzad Tanweer?
They did not agree with what Mr. Tanweer had done, but made clear they shared the same sense of otherness, the same sense of siege, the same sense that their community, and Muslims in general, were in their view helpless before the whims of greater powers. Ultimately, they understood his anger.
JEEZUS, is this idiot for real??
Get out your hip waders Matilda -- it's getting mighty deep in here!
"they shared the same sense of otherness.."
-- from a posting above
Any possibility that that shared "sense of otherness" might have come from Islam itself, from every one of its texts, from the atittudes and atmospherics that those texts give rise to, that teach Believers to be loyal only to other Believers, not to take "Jews and Christians as friends, for they are friends only with each other" (as the Qur'an says in one passage, and in other passages in a hundred other ways).
Islam itself divides the universe between Believer and Infidel. Of course in Infidel lands Muslims will have a "shared sense of otherness." That is what their belief-system, the most important thing in their lives, the thing which matters above and beyond such incidentals as the particular Infidel land and people among whom they have now settled, teaches them.
So don't blame us for this "shared sense of otherness." That "shared sense of otherness" is exactly what Muslims feel, are taught to feel, and want to feel. What is really grating to them is that they do not yet dominate, that they must, for the moment, continue to submit to Infidel laws and Infidel ways -- and they don't like it one bit. It's not right. It goes against nature, and Allah. Muslims are supposed to rule. And we are not supposed to have to endure this kind of thing for so long -- c'mon, let's get this Da'wa and demographic conqeust over with, or at least let the Infidels hurry up and walk even deeper into deep dhimmitude.
That's what's troubling "angry" and "frustrated" Muslims in England, France, Holland, Belgium and everywhere else in the Infidel world. That's what makes them mad. It's so unfair.
Being an optimist at heart, I like to believe that the more the Duranty Times espouses this horsecrap, the narrower the audience that is willing to swallow it. The muslims, the limo libs, the die-hard Bush haters, the antisemites, and a few others will always lap it up. The rest of us will hopefully relegate the Duranty Times to the supermarket checkstand, next to the Star and the Inquirer. When the Washington Times and the New York Post become the "papers of record", progress has been made.
People need to realize terrorists are incited by the words od Islam, ie the Koran.Until the media
and the public make this connection nobody will ever understand the motives of Islamic extremists.
These extremists are just acting on what is written in the Koran. I think the world is waking up to what the hidden agenda of Islam really is.
A little story to comment on this crap.
As everyone knows, Argentina in the last decade or so has had something of a bad time. Although not as bad as it has been, the situation there is still rather depressed. As a result, the large proportion of Argentinians of Italian descent have been applying for Italian passports at a tremendous rate, swamping the Italian consulates - there are estimated to be 600,000 applications waiting to be processed at present.
The moral of the story? Italo-Argentinians are unhappy in Argentina or feel that their prospects are poor there. They try to go back to the land of their ancestors. British Muslims are unhappy in Britain or feel that their prospects are poor there. They stick like limpets and the last thing in the world they consider is to go back to the land of their ancestors.
Why the difference?
The story above, by Paolo, about the oriundi (the Italians who left to go abroad in search of work) in Argentina who wish to return to Italy, could be very good for Italy, in helping to diminish the menace of Islam. For a century poor Italians left Italy. In the United States we think of Ellis Island, Frank Sinatra, and Enrico Fermi. We forget Argentina, Venezuela, Australia, and a dozen other countries. A funny movie about Alberto Sordi, living in the back of beyond in Australia, and wishing to acquire an Italian wife (the movie had a title something like "Cerca illibata, scopo matrimonio" but I may have misremembered) memorializes this move cinematically.
Just as Italians have now discovered that Muslims carry an extra cost, and have found that Filipino domestic workers (colf) integrate completely into Catholic or quasi-Catholic Italy, without any of that "anger" and "frustration" that seem to be felt by so many Muslims everywhere that they do not rule over Infidels, and some former Communist countries are better suppliers of manodopera (but Albania is another matter), surely there can be an effort to make more attractive a "return to Italy" of Italians or those of Italian descent.
The oriundi will not be a solution. There is no solution to the Muslim presence in Italy -- or rather, the only "solution" is one of complete constraint, and limits to all Muslim immigration and campaigns of counter-Daw'a, that need not be limited to appeals based on the superiority of Christianity, but can also be based on Islam's attitude toward music, art, science. That should get the attention of slightly-to-the-left Repubblica readers (the Manifesto-maniacs are beyond any appeal or indeed, psychiatric assistence).
Wonderful idea. Needs special provisions to encourage it, however -- and no embarrassment should be shown about such special provisions. None.
funny how none of them are every upset by the deaths of Muslims at the hands of other Muslims, although over the last 30 years or so, I'd say that would account for infinitely more Muslim deaths than by any other means. Similarly the ususal suspect "peace" groups who haven't exactly rallied to protest the massacre of black African Muslim farmers who won't leave their farms in Darfur. Some humanitarians they are!
People who lived in Beeston 60 years ago lived in a much tougher place but they were tougher people.
So, if these guys are so keen on Palestine and Chechnya and Kosovo and Kashmir............indeed anywhere but Beeston where they could consider working for a living.............and they think because foreign policy is not run for their puerile minds that it is okay to look at people as you prepare to kill them (these guys get to watch the people they want to kill...........nothing remote about this)
So, if people in Britain are miffed that Wahhabi Fascists in Saudi torture British citizens to get false confessions, persecute Christians and ban Christianity, and arrange to murder Frank Gardiner of the BBC and cripple him killing his cameraman...........................does that mean we should be blowing up mosques and carving up Muslims in Britain ?
How did we get such stupid dummies...........they really have the maturity of 3-year olds
but voyager... ...when they are the perps, it's only just desserts for years of Brit colonialism.
