LAHORE: Accoring to prison officals, Ahmed Omer Saeed Sheikh is dangerous and charismatic. The British-born Islamist murderer of the American journalist Daniel Pearl has managed to convert the first four constables that were stationed outside his cell. This has moved prison authorities to rotate the guards staioned outside his cell almost every day. “He is capable of converting the entire jail staff,” said one official.The convict paid tribute to Osama Bin Laden and condemned his victim as an “informer/spy of America” in an interview conducted by smuggling notes in and out of his cell, says a Telegraph report.
Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh said that he had met Bin Laden twice in Afghanistan and admitted to The Sunday Telegraph that he had been “involved” in the kidnap of Mr Pearl, a Wall Street Journal reporter who was beheaded on video in 2002 after being lured to a meeting in Karachi.
Sheikh rejected the “pillars of Western civilisation”, pledged allegiance to the one-eyed fugitive Taliban leader Mulla Omar and declared that jihad would never cease, even if Bin Laden and Omar were killed. “Islamic resurgence will continue even if all the better-known leaders are martyred or captured,” he said. His uncompromising pronouncements came as Mr Pearl’s parents, Judea and Ruth, noted with “sadness and disappointment” the failure of Pakistan to carry out Sheikh’s death sentence, imposed three years ago after he was tried for their son’s kidnap, and suggested that he could be implicated in planning bombings in London and elsewhere.
Here again we have a peacefile muslim even though he admitted it and is proud of his be-heading video.

It has been said that putting first-time offenderss in with career criminals is unwise becuase the former learn from the latter. How much more dangerous, then, to allow in the prisons of the Western world (and in Europe Muslims now make up a majority of the prison population, with 70% of those in France and numbers almost as high in Scandinavia), the cheek-by-jowl existence of these particular Muslim prisoners guilty not of petty crimes but of Islam-prompted crimes, who can use their time conducting Da'wa in the "true Islam" (and true Islam it is) among both the non-observant or less faithful Muslims they may find, or among the Infidels, so that even if sentenced to life imprisonment, they will train up their own replacements, who will then replenish the bottomless well of those who preach, and act upon, hysterical hatred of non-Muslims, their institutions as well as their persons.
Such Muslim prisoners -- those sentenced for crimes prompted by Islam itself -- should be carefully segregated in prisons, condemned to the company only of one another, and far from others whom they might lure into their prefabricated spider-web of that "evil ideology" Bush and Blair talk about, but still can't quite put any of their total of twenty fingers on.
Ahmed Omer Saeed Sheikh has not been executed in accordance with his sentence because British Muslims are using MPs & the flourishing Human Rights brigade in the UK to thwart it. There is talk of a "prisoner exchange", where by Ahmed Omer Saeed Sheikh will be transferred to a British Prison to serve an "appropriate sentence". Tony Blair would have preferred, as many of us would, that sentence was carried out sooner. The political fallout from this prisoner transaction would damage Blair in America (quite rightly) & in light of the mass murders by British Muslims in London cause considerable consternation amongst the Anglo Saxon community in the UK.

Just to let you know - this guy was in an Indian prison when his friends hijacked an Indian plane and landed it in Taleban-run Afghanistan. The Indian govt. could do nothing but give this man up to get its citizens back (they killed a man) the result they have learnt to shoot all terrorists (or supposed terrorists) they catch

Do you have references for that prisoner exchange story? I have not heard about it. And which Muslim MP's and organisations have been campaigning on his behalf? I would like to find out. Whichever ones are - their names and addresses should be forwarded to the newspapers.
A close friend of mine went to school with this bloke and said he was nice as pie, back then. His mum and dad live just up the road from me, nice suburban house, garden, respectable.

Unfortunately not, like I said, its just "talk" -but I believe it. I have heard the same rumour many times but can find no substance. Knowing what I know about the naive PC left wing in the UK it is a distinct possibility that this will come to fruition.
Inspired by the postings here, I posted the following on the Yahoo msg board (under Islam) in the thread (War Against Islam) - not the nicest of areas to be in - particularly as I am a Christian and more likely than not a Zionist Christian.

Though the punishment is just - I do wonder at the wisdom of imprisoning such extremists where they are highly likely to spread their poisonous beliefs.
There may come a time - not too distant where assasination is the most expedient method of dealing with such extremists - it is quick - cost effective and prevents the spread of their brand of extremism.
At the risk of an initial increase in extremists due to the 'martyrdom' syndrome, such assasinations may very well become necessary merely because of the shear numbers of extremists.
1.2 Billion means 12 Million (1%); 60 million (5%); 240 million (20%) - even at 1% - the number to be tried, let alone imprisoned is likely to overwhelm our legal and prison systems.
Contrast that with assasination - we can learn a lot from the Israelis.

Albion could be right about the British Government trying to get Dan Pearl's killer out consider the following.
1. Sometime in the 1990's about 6-7 British Muslim teenagers (Including Abu Hamzas son?) were jailed for about 7 years in Aden for undergoing illegal military training. They were also accused of planning to blow up the English Protestant Church in Aden as a trial run. At the time they claimed they were there to study classical Arabic but the evidence against them was clear.
2. In a BBC Radio 4 interview the civil rights lobby said the British Government had deserted them. But the interviewer replied that although the evidence was overwhelming, the Government must have applied some pressure on their behalf because the "going rate" for the IRA who did this sort of thing was 15-20 years.
3. After about 2-3 years the British Press retold their story declaring they "were almost certainly innocent" and they were, I believe, quietly released and returned to the UK.
Any bets on how long it will take to get Pearls killer out?
