An update on this morning's story from Reuters:
LONDON - Police shot dead a man at a London underground rail station on Friday and issued photographs of four men wanted in connection with Thursday's botched attempts to bomb the city's transport network.They shot the man at Stockwell station in south London, close to the scene of one of Thursday's four attempted attacks.
The killing sparked panic on a crowded station platform and fuelled London's sense of unease after the July 7 suicide attacks that killed over 50 people and Thursday's bid to target the city again.
After attacks in New York, Bali, Madrid and elsewhere, many Britons feel militants linked to the Islamist al Qaeda network have set their sights on their country, a staunch U.S. ally.
Witnesses at Stockwell spoke of panic as a man of south Asian appearance wearing an unseasonably thick jacket vaulted over station barriers as police chased, tackled, then shot him.
"I've never seen anything like it in my life. I saw them kill a man basically. I saw them shoot a man five times," witness Mark Whitby told BBC television.
Police said the man was connected to their investigation but did not say how. They removed his body from the station in the evening as the capital struggled to return to normal.
"It is not yet clear whether he is one of the four people we are seeking to identify and whose pictures have been released today," they said in a statement.
Later, officers arrested a man near the station, but declined to say if he was one of the four...
Glad to see the Bobby made sure he was dead by emptying his revovler into the bloke. Don't want to take the chance you've only winged him, he could still trigger a detonator.....

As I expected the Muslims in London are asking why the Muslim was shot dead and wasn't
mamed with a shot to the leg to stop him.
Remember, Muslims gloated over the 9/11 murderers being allowed to roam around the USA
from the weak Immigration and Security Laws and now that this flaw in the system is corrected we see Muslim now denouncing the stopping of suicide bombers because they're seen as "Innocent until proven guilty".
The paradoxical irony here is that as long as it is mostly "Infidels and apostates" being murdered by suicide bomber on a Jihad mission for Allah , Muslims pretend to condemn these bombers AFTER they kill civilians and yet condemn any arrest or detention of any Muslim that is suspected of doing Jihad that kills non-Muslims.
BTW , I followed the story this morning as it unfolded and the person shot was being watched
becuase he was identified on CCTV as fleeing Thursday's failed Jihad at a tube station , the Police had undercover staff watching the house he fled to based on calls from citizens tipping them off,Friday he left the house and was given the chance to prove he was innocent by being a normal transit user.
The problem started when he headed to a station and wore a coat over what looked like
very thick clothing under it , a SAF (Secret police staff ) memeber saw him entering a station and asked him to stop to be questioned,the man took off and jumped a turnstile to head down to the trains,as he ran onto one of the cars ( called carriages in London) he stumbled and fell face first onto the floor, witnesses said the man was told to freeze and keep his hads and legs extended out as a X position.
Next,it was one passenger that said to the media that he didn't undestand what happened
since he was already on the car when it pulled into the station and hadn't sceen the events prior to the man entering with a plain clothed
Cop chasing him,all he knew was that the man repeated "I'm gonna do it,I'm gonna do it"
and the next thing was Bang,bang,bang,bang,bang
and yells from people still running out of the car from the SAF man warning other person to take cover and don't board the train.
The man could have slaughtered 50 or 60 persons and injured others,the Cop had no way to detect how the trigger was connected to set off the bomb and he risked his life by trying to clear out the car while he followed the bomber into it.
The Police back at the mans house waited for the report that he was a bomber and THEN they raided the home,the next step will be tracing
these thugs back to the Mosques they attended and the Islamophobia rants by the Imams claiming that Islam had nothing to do with teaching hatred to these Muslims.
Maybe Muslims would prefer the bomber kill people before being arrested,but it's tough to have a trial when the killers body id smeared all over the inside of a tunnel.
The truth of Islam is now beyond trying to deny the terrorism done in it's name,too many attacks and the "BUT" response to justify the murders show the "taqqiya" method of scamming the infidels to look like you abhor suicide bombers as you condemn any that are stopped prior to trying to commit Jihad.

When we found out that he didn't have any explosives on him, she said "Hell, that IS Texas. And, when we found out that he was shot at point blank range five times in the head, we said, "Lets send our boys for some lessons."
I read an interesting analysis some years ago about bullet placement in hostage situations. The article discussed the correct way to shoot a kidnapper or terrorist so that his reflexes would not cause him to close his hand and thus fire his weapon or squeeze his detonator connection. The idea was to hit him so that his reflexes would cause him to release his muscles, and to destroy the pathway that would carry any nerve impulses of contraction. There were drawings of sight pictures from varying angles. In short, I believe the sniper should aim for the medulla.
I was down at the courthouse this morning. I related the events to two prosecutors (both women, BTW), who had not yet heard of the shooting, and their attitude was expressed by one who said, "Well, he was a suspect; that's enough."
There is an underlying attitude that I have been detecting lately, a glacial shift, and a rising awareness that really gives me hope. If our de-balled politicians would only follow through!
For now, the rest of that little gang will SWEAT, and, more than likely, start making some interesting mistakes.

I would be scared if a chador or burka wearing person sat down next to me.
I am reposting my comments from the earlier thread on this. The policy is called Operation Kratos and is based on the methods for dealing with suicide bombers developed by Israeli forces. Usualy police are taught to shoot at the torso. Here they shoot to the head for two reasons. First so as not to detonate the bomb round the bombers middle themselves. Second to take out the bombers nervous system as quickly as possible before he detonates the bomb himself. A low velocity handgun was used to lessen danger to nearby members of the public, this meant that more than one shot was required to ascertain success.
They have not yet announced the identity of the man shot. He emerged from a house which was already under surveilance, his behaviour was suspicious and accorded with that attributable to a suicide bomber and he would not stop when challenged. There has been at least one arrest from the suspect house.
This was a police operation, probably by officers from SO19, the specialists, not as was speculated among my colleagues yesterday by members of the SAS, although they will be about, in plain clothes.
There are 4 CCTV pictures issued of the men they want to question from the 3 stations and the bus. Two of the men look older this time.
Also what happens when winter time comes, and everyone wears padded jackets?
Let us aim that by the time winter comes enough suicide bombers will have been neutralised such that the strategy is rendered ineffective. There has been great public support for yesterday's action, except from the Muslim quarter, and a growing realisation to continue that support if it needs to be done again. As it will.
