LONDON - Police in London shot a man wearing a thick coat at a subway station and cordoned off a mosque on Friday, a day after the city was hit by a second wave of terror attacks in two weeks.
Police had no immediate details on the situation at the mosque in east London. But a Muslim leader said it was evacuated following a bomb threat.The circumstances of the shooting at Stockwell station were not immediately clear, nor was the man's condition. One witness said he was dead.
British Transport Police said the Northern and Victoria Tube lines, which pass through Stockwell, were suspended because of shooting.
Passengers said they saw police pursuing a man who appeared to be of Pakistani or Indian descent. Some said police shot him when he tripped.
But one witness told the British Broadcasting Corp. that police "pushed him onto the floor and unloaded five shots into him."
"He looked like a cornered fox. He looked pertrified," Mark Whitby said, adding that the man appeared to be dead.
Whitby said the man did not appear to be carrying anything but was wearing a thick coat that looked padded.
Another witness said there were at least 20 police officers involved in the chase.
When my country does that sort of thing, it is diplomatically singed for being barbaric and violating human rights. I suppose, though, that when the road meets the rubber, suicidal Europe comes to its senses and realises that such things are the cruel necessity of dealing with people who see civilians as equivalent to enemy soldiers.

The reason he was shot in the head was not because London police are particularly cruel. My thought is the police reasonably expected what police learned from the experience of the Israelis (who deal with these vermin all the time) that the murderer may have been wearing a suicide vest under his coat. Shooting him in the head reduces the risk of the vermin blowing up others as the belt is ignited by a policeman's bullet trying to arrest the suicide killer. I suspect it was split second decision by police to shoot him in the head because he was wearing the coat.

The road to where you are suggesting is to trace the blood back to its source -- the tenets of Islam, specifically:
1. The Dar-al-Harb doctrine -- that non-muslim lands are the House of War.
2. The Infidel doctrine -- that non-muslims are "without sanctity" and their "blood, possession, and land" are licit for a muslim to take.
3. The Dar-al-Islam doctrine -- Islam teaches that it should be the only religion and nation on the planet.
Muslim terrorists have no qualms about killing civilians, because Islam does not recognise the concept of civilians, they are only infidels, or inhabitants of dar-al-harb, enemies in enemy territory.
Perhaps this would be grounds to criminalise Islam for inciting and sanctioning murder, mayhem and sedition.
Once that is legislated, effective action can be taken to clear out the source of this Islamic terrrorism.

1. The man was warned before he ran (that's why he ran) and was shot over a hundred yards on.
2. The police had him on the floor, practically restrained and then shot him at point blank.

Is an interesting conversation, but I have to ask a question isn't our system of democracy and individual rights worth fighting for, I would fight for that. I am one of those Europeans who does not know if there is a God and if a God exists does not define it in my own terms as a human. What I have realised is that we as humans make our own societies. And I have said this before that multi-culturism works with non-Muslims, though I do not think that our own culture should be submerged.
Now for me a Free society with the rule of law and individual rights is worth protecting and dying for. I don't need religion to fight this war against Islam and I happen to think that the Left wing will see it soon.
We can win this but we have to get the people to understand what it is all about, and this discussion is right on the home front side of things, if we don't have the backing of the people we will lose.

Gentle knights and dear brothers!
Our mortal enemy did not want after my appeals to give up of further bloodshed and leave our unfortunate brothers Highlanders, but I have faith in Almighty God that you will today disgracefully expel cruel devil from our boundary. He recruited unnumbered army but his army is miserable and weak, and more than anything else - God's might will help us. Here we came, my dear knights and honorable heroes, to shed our blood with foe; we came to lighten cheek before all world; we came to show enemy of our faith, our name and our most beloved freedom that we are Montenegrins, that we are the people, the people who are willing to fight for its freedom till last drop of blood and sacrifices our dearest life on the boundary of our immortal ancestors: but we do not allow damned enemy of Christianity to pass alive in our free and lovable mountains which our great-grandfathers, our grandfathers, our fathers and we ourselves justly flowed by blood!
Is here, among you, my dearest sons and chosen bloom of my state, saved by God, someone who would not voluntarily rise, love and save by blood and life his good, glory and knighthood?! Is here, courageous knights, someone who is hesitating to fight on this heroic field? I am, dear sons and beloved brothers, convinced that none is here because you do not tolerate cowards, because you consider cowards as the worst humans, because free mountains do not bear cowards, but brave knights who know price of heroism, who know price of people's pride and glory, which is yours and with you born wreath!
You are, dear sons, free people, you do not have other reward for your holy liberating struggle than protection of your free will; you know that only reward for free hero is preservation of freedom and dear fatherland, therefore who fights for any other value is not valiant hero, but paid slave whose knighthood has no price, who has no heroic pride and freedom.
Therefore, dear sons and my courteous brothers, our great-grandfathers had fight for, and we do fight and our descendants will fight for. Hence take up arms and on bloody field, dear knights, to show enemy what are capable the free mountains! To show that in our chests beats immortal Serb heart and Serb blood bubbles, to prove how muscles of mountain heroes overcome every foe on the battlefield.
I am delivering archiepiscopal blessing and commending you and me to merciful God, who sees everything and manages righteously, to be helpful to us.

ITV news has just made a report on this incident. The policy is called Operation Kratos and is based on the methods for dealing with suicide bombers developed by Israeli forces. Usualy police are taught to shoot at the torso. Here they shoot to the head for two reasons. First so as not to detonate the bomb round the bombers middle themselves. Second to take out the bombers nervous system as quickly as possible before he detonates the bomb himself. A low velocity handgun was used to lessen danger to nearby members of the public, this meant that more than one shot was required to ascertain success.
They have not announced the identity of the man shot. He emerged from a house which was already under surveilance, his behaviour was suspicious and accorded with that attributable to a suicide bomber and he would not stop when challenged. There has been at least one arrest from the suspect house.
There are 4 CCTV pictures issued of the men they want to question from the 3 stations and the bus. Two of the men look older this time.
How odd! "he looked like a cornered fox... he looked petrified". Had he suddenly realised that he wasn't going to paradise, that there weren't 72 virgins waiting for him, not even one virgin. That all he could look forward to was eternal pain.
His whole family should now be deported. And any friends who wish to join him can go as well. Sell their houses, give half to the families, the rest of the money should go into a fund to relieve the families of the victims or pay for the hospitilisation and care of future victims.
