GREENVILLE -- A man has attracted the attention of the FBI after an incident at a Greenville County church last weekend.Sheriff's deputies said Iyad Abed Alnazli entered the Redemption World Outreach Center's morning service Sunday, and tried to approach the stage.
"It was a young man of Arabic descent who had come in and said that he had a message for the church and this was a word from Allah." church founder Ron Carpenter saidSecurity officers met Alnazli before he reached the stage and stopped him.
"He became unraveled. He began to scream vulgarities out," Carpenter said.
When the officers escorted Alnazli from the building, they found he had left a briefcase in the foyer and parked his car in a church worker's spot against the building.
"And our first thoughts were, 'We have someone here who's unstable.' But the concerns grew when he began to talk all of the terrorist language, 'I want to do my job. I want to go back to my homeland," Carpenter said.
Deputies called the bomb squad and the FBI to investigate....
The bomb squad blew up the bag, but found no explosives. The FBI told WYFF News 4 only that it was aware of the incident and would not elaborate, but Carpenter said he was told that Alnazli was on an FBI watch list.
Investigators said Alnazli had recently been treated for mental problems.
What they should've done is sat this kook down so that he could listen to a valid religious sermon instead of the vile hatred that seems to endlessly spew out of the mouths of Imams at the mosks.
Perhaps he could've learned about peace and love, instead of the usual rape and murder of infidels.
If this freak wants to go back to his homeland, then send him back.

I want to find out what all he had in the briefcase and the car.
I don't understand why law enforcement detonate packages and cases suspected of having bombs. By blowing them up, we lose all chance of knowing what was inside, if it wasn't a bomb.
As an alternative to detonating them, they could easily do the following:
1) remove the suspected item to a clearing (they probably already do this)
2) have a remote control cam zero in on the item, or two cams from different angles
3) have a remote control machine consisting of a hammer and lever force the item open, even if it takes mangling the outer cover -- if it explodes, then you know it's a bomb; if it doesn't move on to step #4
4) have that same remote control machine, aided by the remote cams, poke aggressively around inside the item, shake it out, jab inside, rip off panels, etc. Have experts study the cam video
5) if doubt still exists whether this item could be a bomb, THEN only at that point, detonate it. At least you will have a video record of its contents if it turns out not to be a bomb.

I expected the church with the sign denoucing the quran outside to be the first one to be threatened in the US. Seems to happen alot in other countries.

on a sidenote, i know of several cops who carry their sidearms to church every sunday. as such, i think a lot more of us in states that allow it, maybe should be packing during sunday service as well. if a few of the cops i know had been at this church, there is a good chance this muslim would not have went straight to jail, but to the hospital.
i think this is an omen, a sign of things to come. we see islamo homicide bombers blowing up jewish sites every day. im puzzled and amazed that churches here in the states and in europe havent been subject to homicide bombings as well. this incident is merely a wake up call showing us what the future holds.

Maybe someone led him to believe that he had a bomb, or maybe two bombs, one in the briefcase and one in the package. Too bad they blew up the package and briefcase; couldn't they have x-rayed it? Maybe not, I guess they have to take every precaution.

I would consider him very dangerous and if he wants to return to his homeland, I hope the authorities make his wish come true. Let him go home and terrorize muslims. The “security officers” are probably just ushers, my Pastor has joked about the ushers tackling and beating to a pulp any and all that attempt to reach the pulpit uninvited. Although, if I am ushering that day, his words would probably be prophetic.

"What kind of church has "security officers"?"
So you guys know, Redemtion World Outreach Center has 7000 members, and at the time of the 'disturbance' there were somewhere between 3000-4000 people in the auditorium.
That was not the first time someone has tried to rush the stage. There have been one or two other instances.
Yes, the ushers are a part of the security team, but they are very well trained (and HUGE to boot), but there are also armed 'plainclothes' security officers scattered about in the auditorium.
Thank humanity for the internet!!! For we can finally present the truth to all humanity without having to fear for our lives!We can finally spread the truth openly.
