Yep, multiculturalism is to blame. The Muslims are not to be blamed when Muslims commit terror.
Just ask George Bush, Dick Cheney, Condi Rice, Grover Norquist, James Baker, Donny Rumsfeld, and Reverend Falwell (he said it best when he said that “9-11 is the fault of the homosexuals, the feminists, the abortionists, and the liberals.”)
They will tell you that Islam is noble, respectful, honorable, and peaceful. (The religious leaders will say it’s bad, but then they IMMEDIATELY apologize. As seen on this very website recently, the bible thumpers don’t have the sand that the Secularists and Humanists have.) They will tell you that the “palestinians” deserve their own state, made of land that Jordan and Egypt lost to Israel. They will stess that this is NOT a war against Islam. On the order of the (whoever-it-is-that really-controls-them) they aren’t even going to call it “The War On Terror” anymore. AND they aren’t even adequately funding the protection of our borders, even though THOUSANDS of “other-than-mexicans” have come here since 9-11.
Too bad the Multliculturalists, liberals, commies, antheists, and feminazis (ha-ha!) that run the radio stations, the cable news shows, the Supreme Court, the Senate, the House, and the White House can’t be replaced with some common-sense, Christian, conservative republicans.
Mulitculturalism has RUINED America. Just look at how those Hindus and Buddhists that have come here cause so many problems for us! And the Jews! Who’s idea was it to let them in? Everywhere they go, the price of land skyrockets! And the Africans, why oh why did the evil lib’ruls and multiculturalists ever BRING them here? They never did anything to help us.
The Italians…. sheeesh. They breed like rats, you know. They all have 100% committed allegiance to the Pope. And those dirty Irish… have you ever even seen one after lunch that wasn’t already drunk?
Well, enough sarcasm. Cox and Forkum do an EXCELLENT job promoting the hatred of liberals.
A core value for partisanship is to always offer the same answer, no matter what the question is. E.g., if the economy is good, “We need a tax cut for the rich to reward them for all their hard work” and if the economy is bad, “We need a tax cut for the rich because they will create more jobs.”
If a tsunami hits a Muslim nation, “Allah has punished us, so to thank him we must become more radical” and if the tsunami misses a Muslim nation, “Allah has rewarded us, so to appease him we must become more radical.”
Thus when the news media was fixated on Susan Smith murdering her children, Newt thought it would be a good time to remind us that this is the kind of behavior one should expect when liberalism has “run rampant” on our “values.” (Nevermind that this happened in the solidly-conservative South, in the solidly-conservative state of South Carolina, and Smith was driven crazy by the incestuous relationship she had with her solidly-republican father from the age of eight up to two weeks before the murders.)
Likewise did Rick Santorum recently use the priest-sex-abuse scandal in Boston as a neat little infomercial: he said that could be expected in a culture that encourages homosexuality. (He had no explanation for the priest-sex-abuse scandals in his own Pennsylvania or in nearby Kentucky.)
And so you can see that the surest mark of a partisan is the insertion of the idealogy into any and every topic (like for instance, the eulogy of one’s best friend, a la Ann Coulture.) Thus do Cocks, Fourcum, et al. seek every opportunity to denigrate liberals (yes, we know what they mean when they say “multiculturalist.”)Even when it pertains to Islamic terrorists committing terror.
For Muslims, ANY time, ANY where, that ANY Muslim does ANY thing bad, the answer is always the same: BLAME THE JEWS.
For (another unnamed group) ANY time, ANY where, that ANY one does ANY thing bad, the answer is always the same: BLAME THE LIBERALS.
Kj, I’m not sure if your whole piece if sarcasm. I was starting to agree in some parts, but not in others (hence the confusion). You say Cox and Forkum are out to get liberals, but liberals are who have dubbed me racist and bigotted. The ppl in the cartoon are regular “Joe’s” just like me and most of the DW crowd, and we are told not to criticize their religion or stare at them.
I’d say they do a pretty good job of grinding the liberals, as they have already done it to themselves.
I messed this up:
If a tsunami hits a Muslim nation, “Allah has punished us, so to APPEASE him we must become more radical” and if the tsunami misses a Muslim nation, “Allah has rewarded us, so to THANK him we must become more radical.”
Not that anyone except maybe Hugh would notice anyway.
Oy gevalt…. has anyone read that book by Mende Nazer, Slave: My True Story? What a book! She was enslaved in southern Sudan at age 10 in 1993. She was purchased in Khartoum and for ten years washed the dishes, cleaned the house, washed and ironed the clothes, and cooked the food for A FAMILY OF SIX!
All of them good Arab Muslims, of course. As was Mende herself, but apparently her white masters didn’t think so. When they caught her praying to Allah for deliverance they thought she was imitating them. (“How cute! It thinks it’s a human being!”)
Then in 2003 they sent her to cook, wash and iron clothes, cook food, and clean the (twice as big) house for a family of SEVEN (Muslim Arabs) in London. She saw a man one day that appeared to be from her tribe. She approached him and made her escape.
The bastards that owned her worked for the Sudan Embassy and she was DENIED asylum at first. Lucky for her some liberal lawyers helped her eventually win the case.
Now for the sad ending. The last words of the book are “Inshallah–God willing.”
Nice. So nice that she kept the religion that destroyed every vestige of her ancestral culture; FGM-ed her (which she describes in her book in painstaking detail) at the tender age of 8; kindly sent missionaries to her villages to teach her how crummy, primitive, and filthy they all were; then raided her village; burned all their houses down; stole all their livestock; and took her and all her friends slave, raped them, and sold them into bondage.
She never even remarked on the strange coincidence that the good-hearted Arabs that showed up in her village to teach her Arabic did so at such a time that she was just becoming fluent in Arabic when her village was raided.
Inshallah, indeed. She owes all of her misery and suffering to Allah, Mohammed, and their followers; and everything good in her life to Hume, Locke, Mill, Bentham, etc.
Well, everyone read the book so that if someone accuses YOU of racistly hating “brown-skinned” Ay-rabs, you can tell them about some REAL bigots.
I guess that makes it clearer. I believe I will take your advice and get that book. Possiby worth the read, but as you say, she thinks it’s not the cause.
I had a similar argument about ‘the relativity of all values’ with an elderly wheelchair-bound woman philosophy professor when I took her course in my third year in college.
None of the other trepidatious students were willing to argue seriously with her because she was ‘triply disadavnatged’ herself, but, when it came to her essentially advocating the suicide of the West -by making all cultural beliefs gutlessly relative- I couldn’t let a mere wheelchair, or gender, or greying age get in the way of honestly shredding her ludricrous and self-abnegating rationale. (Now I would just give her a “The Constitution IS a suicide pact!” T-shirt.)
If the Western world, risen from Greek and Roman philosophy and jurisprudence, and gone through the Enlightenment, the Reformation and the Renaissance, and the Scientific Revolution, wasn’t worth calling “better” than Stone Age tribalism, Bronze Age superstition, Iron Age communistic collectivistic utopianism, fascism or other retrograde lunacies, then what is the point of living in the West? And providing yourself with its clear advantages (clean water, sane sanitation, medical services, dependable energy sources, ad infinitum?)
Go live in the pestilential mud of Niger or the starving, sub-zero tundras of Siberia, or the misogynistic temple of Islam in Mecca, or the rickety workers’ paradise of Beijing, and enjoy your ‘cultural superiority to the decadent West’ there to the hilt.
(And I was just a few years out of the Army, at that point, with a pony-tail [playing in a band], when I said this, which totally threw-off the ‘he’s-gotta-be-a-liberal’ ‘we-are-the-problem-for-the-genocide-of-the-native-americans, etc.‘ multicultural-preconceptions of the other students, …and this “all-is-relative” professor… but you shouldn’t judge a book by its binding, I’ve heard say.)
The class was appalled, but listened.
The teacher gave me a B for A work.
Either know and defend your own nest, or fly to another.
“The unexamined life is not worth living.“, Socrates of the West said.
I’ll put that up against:
“This book is not to be doubted.” (First line of the Koran.)
“Rape virgins to cure AIDS.” anyday.
Way to go Big Sleep!
I did something similar to a philsophy teacher from Greece, she was a grad. student teaching a History of Ancient Philosophy class… as one would expect Greek Phi. was her speciality. (I too had a ponytail and a humongous beard to boot and served in the Marine Corps from 84-88.) One day after class she and I were talking, and Al-Aryan was in the news then so the topic of “palestine” came up. She said that the Jews took their land, and that really stuck in my craw.
I asked her if Greece wasn’t also a former Muslim territory, stolen from the local Greeks by invading Turkish Muslims around 1400-1500. She answered yes. Then I asked her if she knew that Greece “stole” the land back from the Ottoman Turks who had seized it and laid claim on it for hundreds of years, in the 1850s (or so.) She said yes.
So then I asked her whether the Greeks that took it back used suicide bombers or killed any children, or sent anyone into Istanbul to kill innocent Turks to prove their point. She said no.
I asked her whether there was any serious movement afoot today to “win back” Greece for Turkey which involved murdering innocent people. She said no.
I then asked her her Israel and the surrounding Arabs should be any different. She had no answer.
I still got an A, but it was one of the new-fangled “A-”s that are only worth 3.666666; not 4.0. That cost me a 3.9 and summa cum diploma; as it was it got a 3.89 and magna cum laude but a 3.8 in my majors (physics and philosophy) is like a 4.5 in any other field (my boss certainly thought so.)
As for Ibn:
Well, if they are a little reserved on this “cartoon”*. Go to their site to see more about how they really think about the evil lib’ruls, like the picture of the hippy arm-in-arm with a jihadi proclaiming their hatred of America. (I may have some of the details wrong but that was the jist. It was up a while back on their site.)
You’ll have to google to find them, I think they have a link at LGF.com, or maybe LGF just links their “cartoons”*.
[And speaking of LGF, Mr. Spencer, have you contacted Charles about getting the strikethrough feature enabled here? It sure would come in handy for describing the "Religion of Peace" and its adherents!]
but it’s the liberals who have dubbed me racist and bigotted.
I know how that is! I feel your pain! Been there; done that!
Every time I say something about Condilesbo Rice, Armstrong Williams, OJ Watts, or Clarence Thomas, I get the same dubbing from my good conservative friends.
Poor thing! That must really hurt your feelings! Read the end of my post above about the Slave book. Next time some whining, crybaby liberal calls you a racist or a bigot because you hate Islam, tell them WHY you hate Islam. (I had to do this with my OWN MOTHER recently. She said I sounded like a hateful bigot when I talked about Islam.)
Tell them that Islam is the most intolerant, hyper-conservative, hateful, misogynistic, homophobic cult in the history of the world. Point out what they do to uppity women, women of “bad morals”, homosexuals (even homosexual children), and religious/ethnic minorities. Point out the slavery: historical, recent, and PRESENT (see above.) Point out that Saudi, Oman, etc. didn’t even outlaw slavery until the 1960s. Explain how Mohommed set the example on how to deal with minorities (the Jewish tribes he destroyed.)
If they fire back with “every religion has it’s fanatics” or “all scripture can be misinterpreted to…” blather, stick to your facts about what Islam is doing NOW and what no other religion is doing (at least not in practically every corner of the world except “Chiner” and “Cuber” –hommage to JFK.)
Cite the numbers killed by Muslims in the twentieth century: WW One, the Arab-Israeli Wars, the Egypt-Yemen war of the 50s, the Partition of India and continuous Kashmir problem, the Algerian “War of Independence”, the Iraq-Iran war of the ’80s, the Rape of Lebanon, the Bangladesh-Pakistan disaster.
Point out the MILLIONS of Arab, Muslim settlers and invaders of northern Africa, much of sub-saharan Africa, Persia, the Greco-Buddhist kingdoms of (current) Afghanistan and Pakistan, the Hindu kingdoms of India, the Hindu and animist cultures of Indnonesia, etc.
Point out the current conflicts in the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Lebanon, Israel, Sudan, Nigeria, Niger, Chechnya, etc.
Point out the heartless terror attacks in Beslan, Madrid, London, Bali, and NYC…. what do they all have in common?
You’ve got to have truth on your side (you do) and you have to have the knowledge and the facts on hand for quick recall. Tell them about what Islam did to Persia, India, etc. and how the “Glory Days of the Caliphate” were funded by sacking Hindu temples and enslaving millions of Hindus.
Don’t let them blame English and French colonialism for the “decline of Islam”; the simple fact is that it ONLY worked and had excess money for art, architecture, science, etc. when it was invading other lands and looting other people. It is only alive today thanks to the “decadent” West’s thirst for oil.
Don’t let them blame Israel on the crises present in practically EVERY non-Muslim-majority nation (state, county, etc.) that borders a Muslim-majority nation (etc.) Don’t let them blame the Crusaders for the current expansionist, supremecist, racist, view of the cult controlled by the Wahhabis of Saudi Arabia.
If you respectfully and concisely tell them the simple truth about Islam: the history, the present, the idealogical predictions of the future (“Islam Will Rule the World”, etc.); the facts about the Queer-an, Hadiths, etc.; the treatment of women (the high-profile cases in India and Pakistan e.g.); the treatment of homosexuals (the high-profile cases in Iran e.g.); the facts about the innocent children shot in the back in Beslan, Sudan, and anywhere else they “fight Islam”…..
(…the list goes on and on…)
…if you patiently and completely make your case in THIS way, you may actually convert some of the liberals to understanding the real threat of Islam, Sharia, and Dhimmitude.
Just keep politics out of it! You’re not going to convince any liberal to join Strom Thurmond’s party of outlawing abortion, ending affirmative action, etc. But you CAN convince them that Islam is a threat to be taken seriously.
I think it worked on my mother.
*–Cartoons are supposed to make you laugh, not make you hate liberals.

I think we might have a misunderstanding regarding what the term “multi-culturalism” is referring to. Are you interpreting “multi-culturalism” to refer to a notion that the USA should welcome various immigrant groups? I doubt many would have a problem with that statement, so long as the immigrant groups become “Americans” through the “melting pot” of assimilation.
The Irish of the 1860s proved their allegiance to the USA by volunteering for the Civil War to overcome allegations that their primary allegiance was to the Vatican. Likewise, Italians enlisted during WWII to prove they didn’t support Mussolini, and in some cases Italian-Americans had to fight their distant relatives in the Italian campaign. Jews were completely assimilated by the mid-20th century (Jewish composers even wrote well-known Christmas songs) and Indian (whether Hindu/Jainist/Buddhist) and south Asian (e.g. Buddhists and Christians fleeing Vietnam) immigrants of the 20th century have also become assimilated.
And this doesn’t mean that *all* vestiges of the source culture must be eliminated. There are Irish, Italian, Indian, Jewish, and Asian restaurants throughout the US. Good thing too as I doubt most of us want British food all the time.
Under the above definition, multi-culturalism is *not* a problem.
I think the cartoon refers to a definition of “multi-culturalism” which dissuades assimilation and in which all aspects of a culture are *not* to be criticized using “our” standards (an outgrowth of 20th century anthropology and French “philosophy”). Articles on the perpetrators of the recent bombings in Britain have shown what happens when immigrants refuse to identify with their new nations of residence and instead develop an identity which can become at odds with the culture of the nation in which they reside.
And I don’t think that Muslims are necessarily prevented from becoming assimilated. The experience of Persians/Iranians has been one of assimilation in the US. This is in stark contrast to the experience of Pakistanis in the UK.
I read the cartoon to mean that adoption of the second interpretation of “multi-culturalsim” is a death sentence for a society which adopts it, a de facto cultural suicide. I think Theodore Dalrymple gave an excellent description of what this adoption is doing in France in a City Journal article from 3 yrs ago:
BTW, I have read your posts in the past, and think you should check out Paul Berman’s “Terror and Liberalism.” Berman is a liberal and writes for The New Republic, and in the book he sets forth why he is both a liberal and against Islamism. You might like it.
Goddam, that is terrible… that’s what some primitive people are doing in South Africa, I read. But–it’s hard to believe, I know–I don’t think Islam is involved in this debacle. I think it’s just good, old-fashioned, plain superstition.
For JW and DW fans not in the know, it has been reported that some men in South Africa think that having sex with a virgin will cure them of AIDS… so they have been targeting children for rape (because the younger your “lover” is the more likely it is that he/she will be a virgin.”)
How long, oh Lord; how long?
How long before men give up superstition and embrace logic, reason, and science?
Please, is there somewhere where I can buy this cartoon?
Kiddo, you don’t have to tell me to be against terror. I am. I am also a liberal. There’s no reason that any liberal or conservative should want to apologize for Islam, hate America, or hate Israel. But some of “us” do.
And I happen to think that our culture IS superior. If Muslims or whoever what to come to “the west” let them come, but only if they are willing to FULLY integrate into OUR culture.
Learn to speak the local language.
If you are between the ages of six and sixty, you’d better be preparing for a job (ie, education) or working a job.
Get your citizenship get off your ass and go vote!
Don’t have five, ten, or fifteen kids just because your parents and grandparents did. Have two or three then “snip-snip.”
Don’t bring your relatives from back home unless they can do all of the above.
WE are not clamouring to relocate to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Somalia, etc. It is the other way ’round. That should settle the arguement with any “multicultural” extremist that says that any way is as good as OUR way.
“For Muslims, ANY time, ANY where, that ANY Muslim does ANY thing bad, the answer is always the same: BLAME THE JEWS.”
King: And this politicial cartoon’s anwswer is “Blame everyone else.” This cartoon reminds me of the many cartoons circulated by the Nazis in the 30′s.
Caption: “One eats the other and the Jew devours them all…” The cartoon promotes the Nazi claim that the Jews were behind World War II, having orchestrated it to destroy Nazi Germany.
The caption: “Behind the Curtains.” A Jewish puppeteer is looking nervously at his remaining puppets: Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin. On the floor are broken former puppets, including Neville Chamberlain
I think Cox and Forkum were quite clever. They seem to know a lot of the same people I do.
KJ, hard right as I am, I appreciate your opposition to the Islamocrazies. BTW, since you pick on us Christians all the time, you probably ought to be aware that we are aware of our own sins and failings. It’s one BIG reason why we’re suspicious of any idea or set of policies based on the supposed perfectability of man (oops! humanity).
All: It is one thing to advocate serious study of the languages and traditions of others; quite another to provide a few trite, feel-good, relativistic statements about the moral equivalence of all cultures. Being a reader of not only English but Chinese, ancient Greek, and Hebrew as well, I sign myself
“Being a reader of not only English but Chinese, ancient Greek, and Hebrew as well, I sign myself
I also consider myself to be multicultural. How else can an American get on without accepting that reality?
Where I draw the line is when a politically active minority demands this and that.
Demands, if passed, will affect the way of life for me and my family and the vast majority of Americans who know nothing or desire anything from this alien culture.
For it is alien, as you know, being replete with human rights abuses and a general “if one submits, one will survive” attitude.
The vast majority of folks I know, my fellow Americans, will never submit willingly.
Hoodwinked yes, by the goodness of their hearts, but once dictates emerge from the maniacal minority? Hell no.
>>you don’t have to tell me to be against
>>terror. I am. I am also a liberal.
Yes, I remembered that about you (on both counts) from previous discussions. That is why I suggested Berman, thought you might like to see another “brother in arms” out there.
In reading last weeks LA times, I happen across an article about a young women from Berkeley who was out with her friends late one morning, they where approached by some young men who asked in the typical intercity fashion if these girls wanted to party. These women took offence and one called a friend who showed up shortly after with a handgun. This guy being a bad shot and all, shot and killed his friend that called for help. Now what got me was this statement by the director of Alamdea County health care services, Arnold Perkins ( a friend to both parties ) is quoted as saying “ No one blames anyone in this”…. “we are all caught in this matrix of too many handguns“.
This is the type of liberal gall that some of us conservatives hate. Until people standup to this kind of stupid nonsense, we will have a difficult time dealing with any issues let alone the Islamic issue.
I also consider myself multicultural, my earthly father is an immigrant from Sweden by way of Canada, my father-in-law is a paraplegic and my heavenly Father is Jewish, in light of that, I get a big laugh when the illiberal’s call me a racist bigot. When they should be calling me a “discriminator”, because I, unlike them, have not lost my ability to distinguish, nor have I been fooled into thinking that doing such is to be considered wrong.
KJ, I am sure you are unaware of the effect you have had on me, but I don’t blame liberals for everything anymore, just most things….
I think the cartoonist, realzing that too few in the general audence would know the phrase “cultural relativism” went for its more popular, but less precise offshot “multiculturalism”.
King Tut Tut-
The Nazis (in cartoons, anti-semitic films and in reality) scapegoated a passive, weak, culturally-assimilated minority in order to steal their property and distract the suckers in Germany from the loss of their own freedoms by giving them the illusory ‘freedom’ to torment a group who was in no position to fight back.
Your supposed analogy falls to pieces on every front.
The jihadist Muslims are in the position of the Nazis, at present, not the Jews. (No 1930′s Jewish guys were blowing up Nazis or German civilians for the cause of Jaweh, now were they?)
Spare us the specious sneaky slander.
Like a toilet clogged with Korans, it won’t flush.
well dont blame west for multiculturalism shit.. its bitten everyone even the stupid Indian diaspora which associates itself eith Pakistanis so much. I hear they r projecting tat new movie movie about the great jihad of 1857 as sum sorta unifying factor for “Asian” community.
sry for the triple post but theres sum prob wit my Firefox it keeps posting everything twice.
Thanks for posting the art collection of your education.
It goes to show that nothing (but bullets) can penetrate a coffee-filter…
All those Jewish suicide bombers were a real threat to all those Germans living in the 30′s and 40′s.
DingTolerance, how exactly does this cartoon suggest “blaming everyone else”? BigSleep has it right once again.
Seriously, are you on crack?
Well, Skeet Street, I think we’re on the same wavelength this time. Regards
You are absolutely correct!
Bigsnore: “The jihadist Muslims are in the position of the Nazis”
King: Right. The Jihadists Muslims are to blame. Not all Muslims, not multiculturalism, not liberals. That’s my point, nothing specious about that.
Tin Tailor: “DingTolerance, how exactly does this cartoon suggest “blaming everyone else”? ”
King: The cartoon clearly shows a man with a suicide belt with multiculturalism written on it and calls is the “real suicide bomb.” This casts the blame outward (as if detonated from a suicide bomb) to many people who seem to subscribe to the idea of multiculturalism, calling them the real enemies. Those on the man’s left are being characatured for being liberals, those on the right, I suppose, ignorant righties.
The cartoon detracts the blame from who it should be on, the suicide bomber himself. It is a clever piece of propaganda that emulates what the Germans did in WWII.
I’m as clear as bell on this, Herr Imam.
Yes they do rape virgins to cure AIDS.
They also screw sheep and goats to “give away” their disease.
The Ayatollah Khomeini is on record for how to go about it in great detail. Perhaps King Schwanz also knows how that works?
KT: here is your ‘religion’ depicted by the great Ayatollah Khomeini, the ‘greatest Islamic scholar’ of our time. May he frolic with Arafat in hell where they can give each other all their favorite diseases!
Surely you would’t argue with such a great Islamic leader?
Here is a statement from the Ayatollah Khomeini. Do you think that this statement, from a leading Shi’a theologian, misstates Islamic theology, and is simply one man’s view, or do you think that it correctly expresses a view that can be easily derived from a reading of Qur’an and the hadith contained, for example, in the “sahih” collections of Bukhari and Muslim?
“Islam makes it incumbent on all adult males, provided they are not disabled and incapacitated, to prepare themselves for the conquest of [other] countries so that the writ of Islam is obeyed in every country in the world.
But those who study Islamic Holy War will understand why Islam wants to conquer the whole world….Those who know nothing of Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war. Those [who say this] are witless. Islam says: Kill all the unbelievers just as they would kill you all! Does this mean that Muslims should sit back until they are devoured by [the unbelievers]? Islam says: Kill them [the non-Muslims], put them to the sword and scatter [their armies[. Does this mean sitting back until [non-Muslims] overcome us? Islam says: Kill in the service of Allah those who may want to kill you! Does this mean that we sould surrender to the enemy? Islam says: Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword and in the shadow of the sword! People cannot be made obedient except with the sword! The sword is the key to Paradise, which can be opened only for Holy Warriors! There are hundreds of other [Koranic] verses and Hadiths [sayings of the Porphet] urging Muslims to value war and to fight. Does all that mean that Islam is a religion that prevents men from waging war? I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.”
Turdinator: “KT: here is your ‘religion’ depicted by the great Ayatollah Khomeini”
King: Uh, yeah. You’ve posted that radical diatribe elsewhere. Ho, hum. You’re great a cutting and pasting, I’ll say that.
You’re also great at making subtle homophobic innuendos, yet, you chastize Islam for being anti-homosexual. “…where they can give each other all their favorite diseases!”
You’re good at assuming I am Muslim when I’ve made it clear that I am not. Come to think of it, you’re a really, really good dhimmiwatcher – hateful, ignorant, myopic and a turd.
K.J.: “Yep, multiculturalism is to blame. The Muslims are not to be blamed when Muslims commit terror.”
Cthulhu: Nope. Muslims are to blame… that said, if the official response to said terror is so watered down as to be as useful as a screen door on a submarine, its probably the liberal, multi-cultural crowds doing. Maybe I’m too much of a pragmatist, but, last I checked, all the bombers fit a profile — young, male, Arab and Muslim (I hesitate to add the last, since its not always visually obvious, depending on grooming and dress). As the clean-cut white guy who finds himself shoeless in the airport and has about a .500 average for being in the supplementary screening group back in the day, allow me to point out, the profile does *NOT* include blonde males in a Brooks Brothers suit. Neither does the WW II vet I ended up standing next to in Miami. Multiculturalism — particularly the feel-good-do-nothing multiculturalism lampooned in the cartoon — has, gets in the way of addressing the problem.
KJ: “And the Africans, why oh why did the evil lib’ruls and multiculturalists ever BRING them here? They never did anything to help us.”
Cthulhu: The old Democrats, y’know, the guys in the butternut and grey uniforms, didn’t want to pick their own cotton, I guess.
KJ: “Well, enough sarcasm. Cox and Forkum do an EXCELLENT job promoting the hatred of liberals.”
Cthulhu: I don’t hate liberals… I have trouble taking most of them seriously — gotta lawyer friend who still isn’t over Florida and have *YOU* tried to listen to the ravings of the Michael Moore/Oliver Stone/Jane Fonda/Nacy Pelosi crowd lately?
KJ: “Well, if they are a little reserved on this “cartoon”*. Go to their site to see more about how they really think about the evil lib’ruls, like the picture of the hippy arm-in-arm with a jihadi proclaiming their hatred of America. (I may have some of the details wrong but that was the jist. It was up a while back on their site.)”
Cthulhu: Maybe you haven’t been paying attention, but the International ANSWER, for starters, fits the concept of the cartoon, among others.
KJ: “*–Cartoons are supposed to make you laugh, not make you hate liberals.”
Cthulhu: Oh it did… and I don’t.
BigSleep explains: “The jihadist Muslims are in the position of the Nazis”
King seethes: “Right. The Jihadists Muslims are to blame. Not all Muslims, not multiculturalism, not liberals. That’s my point, nothing specious about that.”
And this cartoon is meant to indicate all Muslims? Funny, that isn’t in the text anywhere. Sounds a little like a Freudian impression to me, Kingie.
Imam Geoff: “DingTolerance, how exactly does this cartoon suggest “blaming everyone else”? ”
Ding: “The cartoon clearly shows a man with a suicide belt with multiculturalism written on it and calls is the “real suicide bomb.” This casts the blame outward (as if detonated from a suicide bomb) to many people who seem to subscribe to the idea of multiculturalism, calling them the real enemies. Those on the man’s left are being characatured for being liberals, those on the right, I suppose, ignorant righties.”
Riiiiight. And you say people here have no perspective? That was some Freudian dive in the realm of the totally freaking unknowable. The spash you made into your ego must have looked like a cannonball, or maybe a diver who bonked his head on the board and did a busted gainer onto his belly. Either way, you’re all wet. And how do you know that it’s the bomber’s right and not our right? I mean, anything right of the bomber would have to be an utter Nazi and anything left of him but too close would be what – a Naderite?
I mean, seriously, the people on his right are supposed to be right-wingers? From their comments? From their mid-day attire? Good lord, there’s a man in a communist working man’s cap over there, while on the bomber’s left (our right) there’s a WASP, for crying out loud, and I think we all know what ‘they’re’ like. Sheesh!
(LOL – I crack myself up)
