US raising terrorism alert level for rail, metro

No surprise here. From Reuters, with thanks to Judy:

WASHINGTON, July 7 (Reuters) - The United States is raising the terrorist threat level for rail and mass transit systems, but not for airlines, after the bomb blasts that rocked London, a U.S. government official said on Thursday.

The official said the alert level for trains and subways would be raised to orange, which signifies a high risk of terrorist attack, from yellow, the mid-point on the five-point color-coded system.

I bet Ted Kennedy and John Kerry are praying they blow up the "big dig" so they don't have to take responsibility for that leaky 15 billion dollar nightmare.

"The United States is raising the terrorist threat level for rail and mass transit systems, but not for airlines"

Why does the press deem it necessary to clarify the extent of increased precautions this way? It appears as though the press is intentionally exposing potential vulnerability of our airlines with such clarifications.

Is it me? Or is this crazy????
