D.C. Watson reflects on the meaning of the Fourth of July, America's Day:
July 4th, 1776The United States of America declares its independence, and a new nation is born.
A new nation whose independence was won through war and sacrifice.
Independence certainly earned.
As we celebrate our 229th birthday, it gives all of us the perfect opportunity to reflect back to what has made the United States the most successful nation in history.
This is an opportunity to remember the sacrifices and backbreaking work that has made America the jewel in the world's crown.
An opportunity to remember and appreciate the fact that every shred of this hard work and sacrifice was not so selflessly given by those who we've inherited this wonderful country from, so it could be handed away to intolerant Islamic intruders who have already compromised the history and future of Europe, who, instead of migrating here to live the American dream, which would have been welcomed, have instead migrated here with deceptive smiles on their faces, soft spoken voices, and claims of peacefulness, who, in all actuality, are offended by our lifestyle, continuously attempt to maneuver themselves into our political landscape, indoctrinate our school children, file discrimination and libel lawsuits, continue to be arrested and convicted of terror and fraud related crimes, whining along the way, with their ultimate goal not being one of plurality and tolerance, but a goal of taking over our house with their own bigoted, intolerant, discriminatory beliefs.
Or to illegal aliens, who so blatantly disrespect our laws to gain entry into this nation, so that they can commit violent crimes against unsuspecting American citizens and drain the economy that continues to be driven by the hard work of the American people.
This nation was not won, and has not thrived, for the purpose of allowing intolerant people from other lands the chance to arrive on our shores and turn America into their third world style Romper Room.
Perhaps our elected officials should be the first this weekend to reflect on the historical facts leading to America's founding, for many of them seem to have forgotten what being an American, and representing the American people actually entails.
America is what it is. Americans are who they are. If this is unacceptable to those of you in the immigrant crowd, then go back to the wonderland you came from. You won't be missed, and no tears will be shed over your departure.
May God bless this nation and her people, always.
Amen.
God Bless America.
This is a great time to bring out our American flag and remember those 56 brave men who signed the Declaration of independence at the risk of death of which many of them suffered dearly for having signed that great document. And to remember the millions who fought to defend and preserve this nation.
when you want to join a country club, you understand that there are rules which you are RESPONSIBLE for following. if the rules are not to your liking, you are free to decline membership and look for another. NOBODY wants you to join with reservations, NOBODY is forcing you to join. but should you decide to join, the rules apply to you too.
The rules were here when you showed up at the door, you knew what they were when you got here.
The country club reserves the right to boot your sorry ass out if you cannot or will not agree to conduct yourself as a civilized, productive, cooperative, honest, and intelligent human being.

"WE MUST ALL HANG TOGETHER OR WE SHALL ALL HANG SEPARATELY."
Let's recall Franklin's truism here.
It is still a fact.
Often forgotten by the weak-kneed who occupy the seats of power won by wiser and stronger hearts.
And a-
Happy 4th of July! TO ALL!
Long live the Declaration of Independence!
And the Constitution and Bill of Rights!
And may they spread to give the hope of freedom to every spirit still in chains.
America is what it is. Americans are who they are. If this is unacceptable to those of you in the immigrant crowd, then go back to the wonderland you came from.
LOL! How terribly unPeeCee, but refreshingly honest and undeniably true. Same goes for those who come to Oz.
Happy Fourth of July from Down Under.
Have fun on your special day. Wish I could be there celebrating with you.
Bless all of you with un-merited grace & favor!
Happy Birthday, AMERICA!!!
Lincoln said it better than anyone when he prayed:
"...that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth."
Let it be!
God bless America.
God Bless our wonderful country and God Bless all who have sacrificed for our freedom.
We are and will always be the greatest nation in the world.
Today is my nation's birthday and I am very proud. Many people will dismiss me as jingoistic or "mindlessly patriotic" and bring up a list of America's real or imagined faults. But from the simple patriotism I was taught in grade school, to the screaming anti-amerianism I am being forced to swallow in my education now, and through my own readings and expeirence, I KNOW that America can and will overcome our current Islamic threat and the hope for humanity lies with America and the rest of Western Civilization. I hope this day is viewed in the future as not a country's birthday but a celebration of freedom for all humanity once they are free from fascism, racism, religious persecution and other soul-destroying factors that enslaves human beings.
God Bless America
God Bless Jihad/Dhimmi Watch
GOD BLESS YOU ROBERT SPENCER, BAT YE'OR, ORIANNA FALLACI AND ALL THE OTHERS WHO HAVE SHOWN ME THE TRUTH!
Today is my nations Birthday
(It is also my own ^-^)
U.S. DOUBLE STANDARDS
American independence brought freedom to anti-European white American nationals and oppression and fear to everybody else. No wonder native Americans so spectacularly defended the British/Canadian border in 1812-1814, but alas freedom fighters like Brigadier General Tecumesh http://education.yahoo.com/reference/encyclopedia/entry?id=46517
will never quite make it into Hollywood or American school books. The great North American myth is of course that the American Revolution was a dramatic awe-inspiring social upheaval, when of course the history of the following century clearly shows American governments were aggressive and discriminatory, in many senses, not far removed from the British Empire from which the land so violently exited. Take for example the systematic genocide of Native Americans, a land grab against Mexico, an attempted land grab against Canada, and a ridiculously late ban on slavery - purchased with a civil war. None of which really demonstrate an enlightened nation in action, in effect, it was just like most other nations, only being bigger, it was all on a larger scale. It also inherited a superior British legal and political system, which it developed and used to great effect, whereas its southern neighbours were burdened with inferior Hispanic political institutions and laws. (It with good reason that Spain & Portugal did not become democracies until the 1970’s!) But of course, Americans do not acknowledge any debts to their “foreign” inheritance for any present glory.
It is certainly true that America has the highest national principles in the world - and nowhere in the world is the gap between principles and practice greater than in America. Such was the case in 1776 or 2005.
The world’s “leading light for democracy” (after having propped up every nasty little Fascist and Islamist regime on the planet during the Cold War) now calls itself “the jewel in the world's crown”. Alas, a Jewel which seems to be tarnishing the gold and blackening other beautiful gems surrounding it - vomiting forth more than half of the world’s pollution. The USA is now a self-styled crusader in the God-forsaken hopeless realms of Islam. Ill luck and disaster are the only fruits of victory in the Middle East, as Europeans learned in the Middle Ages.
With a powerful economy, and an occasional space probe to examine some cosmic dust, Americans are reassured of their greatness, hence they self-righteously slander the rest of the world which they immerse in pollution, intrigue and turmoil.
But then again, is it right to HATE a nation that fought Hitler and brought us the internet, the light bulb and a thousand other facets of modern life? As much as America blunders and schemes, can any sane educated person really say that they are on a mission to control the world? No; such irrational thoughts are simply the flawed and paranoid intellectual property of Islam and Communism. No, my greatest criticism of America is its lack of self-criticism and its over-zealous criticism of others.
America is the new Rome. Like Ancient Rome, America is great yet rancid, like Ancient Rome, America is a bastion of civilization and a den of iniquity.
The gist of Watson’s argument is of course absolutely correct, Islam as a hostile, backward and alien ideology, should not be tolerated in the USA (and the West in general). Muslims DO belong back in the Middle East and Pakistan, my question is, this being the case, does America belong in the Middle East and Pakistan? Getting Americans out of the Middle East and getting the Middle East out of America, is all part and parcel of the same argument.
Muslims won’t be evicted from the USA, because OPEC would retaliate, which would flatten an unprepared US economy and kill the Bush dynasty’s family business. To free America from Islamic tyranny Americans must first free themselves from oil, to do this they need to scrap the Republican Party - which they all love. They also need to reduce the size of their cars and the economy by going green – which they won’t do because they love consumerism. Hence, we get millions of tiresome Yanks mouthing off about problems they themselves aid and abet.
So, in effect Watson’s quaint patriotic outpourings are probably true, but sadly futile. Any American that truly wishes to undermine Islam (which feeds on oil) must ask serious “liberal” questions about the US economy and government, but they are so brain-washed with so-called patriotism and right wing conservatism, that they will never do this.
For all I know, perhaps D. C. Watson is anti-oil - if so, alas, he's a rare bird.
Happy Birthday, JadeDragoness.
Amen
Timbo, don't be silly!
Timbo, our patriotism isn't mindless and stupid as you make it sound, we all came to the same conclusions about America ourselves, (or else we wouldn't be on this blog,)America has it's faults, and it's certainly not above critisism. Every fourth people like you come out of the woodwork and list America's faults (real or imaginary) trivialize our achievements, and generaly blame us for every ill in the world. You paint us as ungrateful recievers of Western Civilization when we clearly are concerned about the fate of Europe, the cradle of Western civilization, and it's struggle whith Jihad and Dhimmitude. You go off on an environmentalist tangent yammering about pollution and things that have nothing to do with the threat of Islam. I loathe our dependecy on oil the dhimmitude of the American goverment for that oil as much as anyone else but I'm also a realist, a renewable, dependable scource of energy isn't going to come out of nowhere and bankrupt OPEC, but as an environmentalist I'm sure you don't agree with drilling in Alaska or using nuclear energy to attempt to ease us off foriegn oil.
As for America in the Middle East, I essentially agree but your proposal is easier said than done. With a normal rational civilization it would be a simple buisness transaction, you give us oil, we give you money, but the hostility and irrationality of Islam causes endless wars and jihad with that oil money, not to mention our support of Israel, one sane outpost in the Middle East. However even without these factors there is still the Internet, Television and other new media outlets that spread Western ideas and threaten the backward Islamic notions that keep the dictators and mullahs and power, they are fighting physicaly against fast-spreading, intangible ideas. So I don't think America, and the West, can stay completly out if it tried, it is a small world. Besides It's not our job to make sure these primative backwards people aren't threatened, it's our job to make sure it they don't threaten us.
