ZANZIBAR, Tanzania - Zanzibar's mosques are fuller on Fridays, more women are wearing head scarves and more Muslim men are showing calluses created by frequently touching their foreheads to the ground in prayer. A growing number of Zanzibaris are turning toward a stricter form of Islam and possibly away from democracy ahead of this fall's elections, expected to be a volatile affair.Multiparty politics "has brought nothing but tragedy," said Abdallah Mohammed Suleiman, 42, who sells imported clothes. "The best solution (is) to uphold our religious values, that is Islamic values, or revert to single party rule.
"After all, Islam is the sole unifying factor in Zanzibar."
Fundamentalist clerics see an opportunity, offering Islamic law as an alternative to democracy, arguing that would bring discipline and moral values to political leadership.
"We clearly see a vacuum that could be filled by the Islamist system that could show people that democracy — which they hoped would enable them to elect leaders they want, people with integrity — has failed," said Abdallah Said Ali, secretary of Society for Islamic Awareness and Preaching in Zanzibar.
"After all, Islam is the sole unifying factor in Zanzibar."

How does the belief-system that animated the Arab slavers help to unify their descendants, who have not given up their belief in the rightness of that slave trade, for to do so would be to call into question the practices of Muhammad and His Companions, and an isnad-chain has not yet been devised to permit the abandonment by Muslims of slavery, with the black Africans whom, for centuries, they seized, castrated, enslaved, and brought back to various Islamic slave-markets for sale.
Is it the same kind of unity that those Arab Muslims in this country are pushing by hiding behind, or rather promoting the idea, of some kind of common "Arab-American" identity with the descendants of the Lebanese (and Syrian) Christians, Maronites, Greek Orthodox, and Melkites, who left the Middle East in the first place as refugees from the perceived encroachments and persecution and even murder committed against them by circumambient Muslims?
Some unity.
And the foolish self hating western left wants to give them billions more in aid to complete their genocide and establish Islamic fundamentalism throughout Africa. Why are people so blind?

Apparently, our chocolate tanned brothers and sisters have a deep longing for the good old days when the island of Zanzibar was the biggest slave exportation station in the world under Arab Islamic rule, long before the evil white man founded the plantation system in America. I guess standing in a long line of your fellow men waiting to be held down for castration and a future career as a Guardian of the harem still has its oriental charm… That is, if one managed to survive the complete removal of one’s entire genitalia without the benefit of anesthesia or hygiene, only to be left with a ridiculous feather on one’s turban to open up the constructed slit covering the opening of the urethra. Let us not forget the equal opportunity continual rape by the Arab masters. After all, the founder of their religion (that was forced on them) has so honored them by describing them as “raisin heads”, and when asked to describe the appearance of the devil, he pointed to his slave, a member of their race, how glorious for them. Also, in most Arab countries the word used for a black man is “abed” or slave, and the plural form is “abeed” or slaves. For them Islam is really the gift that keeps on giving.
I guess it had not dawned on the dearly departed, Mr. Malcolm Chabaz X, to take a look around Mecca and Medina while performing the Hajj and notice the droves of slaves and former slaves, liberated after they outlived their use to beg around the shrines, before he came back to America to tell the world about the brotherhood of all races, which he found in Islam… All praises be to Allah. Good luck to the pious Zanzibari people… It seem with the rates of conversion of their kindred in America while incrassated, they will soon share in the bounty of Allah and the title of “abeed” by their more fair skinned coreligionists.
What a tragedy. Islam’s foremost victims are bowing down of their own free well. Their ancestors, even in chains and utter humiliation, have instituted many slave rebellions that threatened even the caliphate in Baghdad. My Brothers, the Nubian people, successfully defended themselves and held on to the end for almost 700 years, while Islamic armies trampled seemingly mightier empires. In fact, it would have been impossible for Islam to sweep many parts of Africa, until white greed opened a windfall for Islam of money and modern weaponry to complete the conquest, of course in exchange for slaves and African products. The Europeans muddied the waters further when they came to Africa as colonists and enlisted Muslim soldiers and rulers, thereby extending the Muslim sphere of influence over territories which Islam has not been able to control in the past. A notable example is Edie Amin of Uganda whose father came from Sudan with the British Army.
