Controversial Muslim cleric Omar Bakri Mohammed has reportedly been freed after being arrested in Beirut.

Bakri travelled to Lebanon at the week-end amid calls for him to be tried for treason in Britain.

He had caused fury by saying he would not inform on British Muslims if he knew they were planning terror attacks.

The reason for Bakri's arrest is not clear - the Foreign Office said it was not at the British Government's request.
