Is There An Enemy Within?

A funny thing happened when New Zealand First released its “End of Tolerance” speech.

The usual suspects protested that we were targeting Muslims for political gain.

Nothing could be further from the truth – my sources in this matter are moderate Muslims concerned about the impact of fundamentalism in their ranks.

They contacted us – not the other way round.

Some claimed we had no proof – and yet one of the few recognised terrorist experts in this region – Dr Rohan Gunaratna, Head of the International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research, said we were right and that there were up to 10 potential Cells here in New Zealand.

We pointed out that an Auckland ethnic TV station Mirchee TV was about to beam Al Jazera into New Zealand.

At first they tried to claim freedom of speech, but then they removed the link from their website when the media started sniffing around.

My office still has the original link offering Al Jazera “coming soon”.

Some claim that we were trying to paint all Muslims with the same brush – that we were claiming they were all terrorists.

We did nothing of the sort.

What we did say was that everywhere large Immigrant Muslim communities exist: In Europe, Asia and even Australia – there is a militant underbelly.

While some may like to pretend this is not the case – the facts speak for themselves.

And when one among their number speaks out, as a Muslim Auckland University student did, and says that there are indeed these elements here, others come out and say there is not.

Now someone is not telling the truth.

One of the more interesting reactions was from a professor of religious studies at Victoria University who claimed that the Muslim community here, being relatively new migrants, were unlikely to have too many extremists among them.

He added that given the Muslim population of nearly 50,000 there was likely to only be around 20 or so fanatical extremists.

He misses the point – that is what we are saying, that the Muslim community has extremists among its number.

The difference is that we want to know who these 20 or so are before they act out their extreme views.

Now we find it incredible that one of the strongest advocates of this community is a gay man – who if he lived in a strict Muslim country would be stoned to death for his sexual orientation.

His sexuality has already, from media reports, caused heated tension among the Muslim community with a very similar pattern to the young man who spoke out against the extremist elements present here.

You see it was all over the Sunday Star Times just a few weeks ago – one Muslim leader saying an openly gay man should not be embraced by the Muslim Community and another saying all is well.

First there was the outspoken militant view, then there was the denial from others in this community.

Some in this community seem to suffer from a schizophrenic personality disorder – either anti-West rhetoric exists here or it doesn’t. Either the Koran is against homosexuality or it is not. Or, some of these so-called Muslim leaders are betraying the true beliefs of their people.

So let them tell the public honestly – does Islam support homosexuality or not?

Does Islam support the West or are we the “infidel” as identified in the Koran.

Now there is another disturbing development in this matter.

My office has been contacted by a man within the prison service, who does not wish to be identified because it may impact on his employment, but who has expressed his concern at a new phenomenon in our prisons – the growth of radical Islam among disgruntled mainly Maori prisoners who are former gang members.

This is the same warning a prison Chaplin at Mt Eden issued late last year.

Now this story also received wide coverage in the media late last year.

It seems the message of radical Islam has fallen on fertile ears among the disaffected in our prison systems.

Leading the charge in our prisons is the so-called leader of the Aotearoa Maori Muslim Association, Te Amorangi Izhaq Kireka-Whaanga.

Indeed, it was only a matter of months ago that this man went to the mainstream media claiming that the attraction of Maori inmates to Islam was that it was “anti-European”, and induced a fascination with al Qaeda and the radical style of African-American Muslim icons such as Malcolm X.

In fact Kireka-Whaanga was quoted as saying:

“The ones coming in, their reasons are they admire Osama bin Laden. They think it's all about fighting Europeans.”

Now there is a sobering thought for my critics.

Kireka-Whaanga went on to make more outrageous claims such as the murderous bombings in Beslan being “Islamically legitimate”.

He travels to prisons conducting dawaa, or preaching visits.

And the frightening thing is that the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ) pays his travel costs to do this.

So while they have the audacity to criticise me – here they are funding this man to spread his hate filled message in our prisons.

This is part of the militant underbelly I was talking about – and yet they all stayed silent about this.

This same man, with strong gang connections, also caused a huge ruckus when he tried to take over his local Muslim community in the Hawkes Bay.

His rhetoric was a fusion of radical Islam and Maori nationalism.

Now it is worth making this observation here.

We have seen Maori nationalists protest in this country before.

We witnessed the Hikoi last year – and have seen several similar marches over the years.

The worst of these protests has been the sight of someone shooting the flag, or maybe baring their rear end, or chopping down trees and denting the America’s Cup.

While this anti-colonial posturing is designed to be threatening – it does not incite the hate-filled violence that is being advocated by Kireka – Whaanga and his ilk.

This new type of hatred is imported.

The seeds of this mindset are planted from elsewhere, based on different morals and ethics.

They are not our morals, they are not our standards.

It is dangerous – and we must act quickly to lance this festering sore from among the disenfranchised of our society.

Because we have seen abroad the devastating effect of such militant views left unchecked.

Today I am calling on Maori leaders throughout the nation to reject this insidious threat to our nation.

Kireka-Whaanga and his kind must be sent a clear message – if they wish to continue to advocate violent insurrection against the West (against New Zealanders) – then they have no acceptance in our society.

Our prisons must be places of rehabilitation – not a cesspool of anti-establishment hatred and insurrection.

Now it is worth making the following observations.

As we sit back here in New Zealand and naively congratulate ourselves on our diversity and multiculturalism, Nations like Australia, Britain and the rest of the developed world are taking this situation seriously.

Indeed, in Australia and Britain the laws are being contemplated which would outlaw violent anti-West rhetoric and allow those advocating such views to be deported.

You see they are finally awakening to what other European nations have discovered – a blind commitment to diversity does not equate to a tolerant society, when the price of diversity is the requirement to embrace the intolerant.

It was only last year in Britain that the Chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality declared “Multiculturalism is of another era and should be scrapped”.

He added that what Britain really needed was “to assert this is a core Britishness”.

Now this was a bipartisan body established in the 1960s to promote so-called multiculturalism.

Why can’t we learn from these experiences – why must it take a catastrophe before we will act.

New Zealand must again be for New Zealanders.

There are such things as New Zealand values, New Zealand ethics and a New Zealand way of life.

A former Australian High Court Chief Justice, Sir Harry Gibbs said in 2002: “A state is entitled to prevent the immigration of persons whose culture is such that they are unlikely readily to integrate into society, or at least to ensure that persons of that kind do not enter the country in such numbers that they will be likely to form a distinct and alien section of society, with the resulting problems that we have seen in the UK”.

We say it is time to get real.

Who says the enemy is no longer without!

Is Peters Being Used As A Pawn in Al-Qaeda's Game?

Opinion: - As an irregular warfare tactic, terrorism is a psychological weapon. Its aim is not to degrade the military capacity of an opponent, but to wear down his/her will to persist in a given course of action. It does so by focusing on “soft” non-military targets with high symbolic value, whose very choice (because of their distance from and lack of complicity in the conflicts of the moment) makes all the more horrifying and senseless the attack.

Popular revulsion against terrorist acts often translates into questioning of the activities that precipitated them. Absent a pressing and compelling threat to the physical survival of the nation, the costs of absorbing terrorist strikes appears to outweigh the benefits of continuing policies that lead to that type of retaliation. Even the thought of terrorism is enough to create conditions of fear that make certain populations bend to the terrorist’s will. For that to happen, there have to be agents willing to propagate the terrorist message, both directly and indirectly.

Al-Qaeda is a loose network of Islamicist guerrilla cells, mostly but not exclusively of Whahabbist orientation, dedicated to eradicating Western influence from the Muslim Diaspora via a global campaign of terrorism. They do so by attacking Western targets and symbols of Western influence in the Muslim world. The objective is to sow irrational fear among Western populations that is disproportionate to the actual threat posed by Islamic terrorism, and to provoke government over-reaction when attempting to safeguard their civilian populations and influence in the Muslim world.

Abandoning policies of tolerance and presumed innocence by universally targeting resident Muslim communities based on who they are as opposed to what they intend, Western responses to the al-Qaeda “sucker ploy” serve to distance resident Muslims from the non-Muslim majority, as well as further alienate the Islamic world from the West as a whole.

Attacking Muslim states on the pretext that military preemption better protects Western societies from future harm compounds the problem and plays neatly into the jiahdis’ hands. In an age of Western globalisation, this is the fundamentalist’s last stand, and anything that keeps their cause alive is worth trying.

Al-Qaeda needs two types of agent in order to carry out its global terrorist campaign. First, it needs dedicated Islamicist cells with the knowledge and ability to stage unconventional attacks in targeted countries. This requires embedded local knowledge and the ability to pass unnoticed among the general population. Thus the concern about “sleeper” cells that can be activated to carry out terrorist missions after years of lying dormant amid the normalcy of daily life.

The second type of agent required is what Lenin called “useful fools”: those who can be manipulated—psychologically, politically or emotionally, playing on their own self-interest—in order to advance the terrorist cause. In the measure that they realize they are helping a larger ideological project, such agents may consider themselves as willing tools rather than fools. However labeled, these can be found in the media, in civil society, or in politics. Only with the two types of agent working in parallel can al-Qaeda’s global objectives be achieved.

In New Zealand, there are currently no known al-Qaeda cells. The SIS and police counter-terrorism unit have said as much. Although it might be the case that these agencies choose not to divulge the existence of sleeper cells so as to not cause general panic, such a scenario (cell activation) requires a precipitant to spring into action. The precipitant can be an agent provocateur, someone who, as a pawn in the larger ideological struggle, creates the conditions in which anti-Muslim fear grows, cultural dissonance obtains, extremist sentiment of various stripes begins to breed, and the sucker ploy pursued as an unconventional military stratagem is undertaken.

Is there such a pawn in New Zealand? Certainly no fool, there is an individual who, however unintentionally, serves as an Islamicist tool used to sow the seeds of domestic discontent. By engaging in ethnic and religious-based scapegoating of the resident Muslim community, which he claims (without evidence) hides treasonous and violent members primed to launch attacks on these shores, the rabble-rouser fosters irrational fear within the majority non-Islamic population. In the measure that he promotes culturally based hatred, he further alienates resident Muslims from the majority. Worse yet, he puts the fear of Islamic terrorism into the hearts of those who otherwise have little reason to worry about that threat to their physical security.

Wielding his invective brush, he manipulates public opinion to lay siege on the Muslim community while tail wagging the governmental dog on issues of immigration and refuge. In the measure that this succeeds he advances his own political ambitions, but more concerning, those of the jihadi puppet-masters. Unconsciously perhaps, he nevertheless jerks on strings pulled by Osama’s army.

Given his statements on foreign policy, migration, refugees and domestic security, it is clear that were he to be in a position to do so, this individual would pursue policies of isolationism abroad and ethnically based politics at home, including security policy based on cultural suspicion. It extends to political censorship, as shown by his calls to ban the Arab media outlet al-Jazeera from broadcasting in New Zealand. He openly calls for stringent limits on cultural tolerance. His agenda is, in a phrase, xenophobic nationalism translated into government authority.

Were he able, this fellow would order New Zealand’s withdrawal from international commitments, particularly engagement with the Muslim world, while simultaneously curtailing the civil rights of resident Muslims as “suspect” peoples. That has implications for trade, commerce, diplomatic standing, domestic liberties and military affairs. In the measure that he influences public opinion and government policy, this person furthers al-Qaeda’s objectives by sowing the seeds of anti-Muslim fear and antagonism in a country that historically has no quarrel with Islam or its adherents, and whose current foreign policy stance has bought it a measure of insurance from Islamicist attacks without compromising the basic civil rights that are the foundational stone of the political system.

In the measure that his views are reported in the Muslim world, he attracts the untoward interest of Islamicists eager to globally project historical grievances against the backdrop of unjust treatment in contemporary Western societies. Because he is embedded in political life and public consciousness, this man is the ultimate foolish tool: the more his views are aired, the more the country moves to a position of unwarranted polarity vis a vis Muslims at home and abroad. Considering this, it can be argued that electoral support for this individual is an indirect vote for an unnecessary clash of civilizations and, therefore, al-Qaeda. The question remains as to whether the rest of his political party runs lock step with him on the issue of Muslim hydras in our midst.

Islamic extremists may or may not have sleeper cells in New Zealand, which is one part of the equation for victory in carrying out any terrorist campaign in this country. That is something the security services can counter with good intelligence, and there is no reason to think that they are not vigilant and focused on the task. What is more difficult to do is counter culturally-based scare mongering carried out within the confines of an election campaign, which serves to uncover and exacerbate primordial grievances that provide the justification for terrorist attacks. Here New Zealand has a clear threat to its national security, in the guise of an MP who unconsciously, indirectly as it may be, advances the Islamicist extremist cause. That MP is the Right Honourable Member of Parliament from Tauranga, Leader of New Zealand First, Mr. Winston Peters.

Islam's threat to democracy

The recent fantasy tales in the media have done nothing to convince me that terrorism and Islam are not connected. From the convoluted apologist Yvonne Ridley to the confused defence of Saddam Hussein by Richard Harman, the "moderate" voice of Islam remains disturbingly restrained.

Ridley, who refuses to denounce suicide bombers, wants Donald Rumsfeld's head on a plate and scolds British Muslims for not being radical enough. She dreams of the Queen crying out "Allah Akbar" and has nothing to say about the shameless acts of violence done in the name of her religion.

Why are Muslims not screaming at the male supremacists, despots and bloodbath aficionados? Why no positive things to say about Western religious freedom, separation of church and state and equality under the law?

In New Zealand we believe in progress so strongly we are blind and unprepared for the appalling contradiction of the barbaric rise and rise of Islamist terrorism. We can only shake our heads in disbelief.

Even before I was born in 1970 three planes were hijacked by Islamic terrorists. They demanded the release of Arab terrorists imprisoned in Switzerland, West Germany and Britain. The terrorists who assassinated Anwar Sadat in 1981 were supported by an influential Islamist philosopher, who influenced Osama bin Laden, Adbullah Assam. He sought one goal; the establishment of Allah's rule on earth.

Christians are being slaughtered all around the world. Never in world history has there been so much widespread Christian persecution. Just a couple of weeks ago, in Bangladesh, two young Christian evangelists were stabbed to death after showing a Jesus film alongside heath education films. I wish this scenario was rare but it isn't.

Dare I mention what many in the faith do to Jews, female adulterers, homosexuals and female rape victims?

A week before September 11, the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet reported that 65 per cent of rapes on Norwegian women were committed by "non-Western immigrants" – a category in Norway that consists almost entirely of Muslims.

Apparently, the problem is that Muslim men found the way Norwegian women dress provocative and therefore, argued the academics, the women had to take their share of the responsibility. The conclusion – Norwegian women must understand they live in a multicultural society and adapt themselves.

Secular multiculturalism has no way of resisting militants or discerning how they differ from moderate Islam. It allows Muslim communities to consolidate and create parallel societies.

Winston Peters is right when he points out that it can also happen here. There is little doubt that the ultimate aim of many Muslims in Britain and in Europe is to govern their own affairs and then, as a finishing touch, everyone else's as well. And, before you think it would never happen here, remember, the Ministry of Women's Affairs has long announced the need to relax our laws on polygamy in order to accommodate immigrants.

Islamism is now the dominant voice in contemporary Islam and the seedbed of radical movements. This is not understood by New Zealanders and it is obscured by a range of well meaning but confused political liberals.

The problem is profoundly ironic. Unable to any longer comprehend or accept the Judeo-Christian heritage and ethic, we are at a loss to understand the implication of a theocratic and coercive religion which also controls the state.

Christchurch Islamacist Dr Bill Shepherd's claim that, "although Christians are under threat from Muslim extremists in some places, the Christian faith rarely comes under direct threat from Muslims" is outrageously wrong.

Western liberal democracies are in danger from Islam. Not only from terrorism but simply because immigration and population statistics are predicting Muslim majorities in some Western nations.

Islam has never known the separation of church and state which has shaped social and political development in the West. There is no concept of democracy or civil rights.

Some Muslim countries have religious rulers, others have nationalist and secular rulers, but all (with the possible exceptions of Turkey and Malaysia) are despotisms, in which the rule of law is a matter to be negotiated. Everywhere the secret police and the military are an ominous presence.

A question needs to be asked. Is there within Islam a context in which politically alienated young men in particular can be radicalised? Or, in other words, are thousands of young men fanatics because of some legitimate interpretation of Islam or are they politically alienated fanatics in spite of it?

And there is a follow-up question. Is moderation in Islam a consequence of a deeper understanding of that faith or is it more the result of its modification by Western values of tolerance?

It is not xenophobic to wonder what the future holds for New Zealand with an increasing minority of Muslims. This should be a concern for Kiwi Muslims as much as it is for the rest of us.

Who would have thought that in a quiet backwater like N.Z. that you would have a problem with Muslims? I am really beginning to believe that there is an organized campaign to encourage Muslim immigration to the West in order to subvert and destroy our societies from within. The Muslims know that they cannot defeat us militarily from without but they have figured out they can defeat us easily by subverting us from within by using our own values against us.

Why all of a sudden do you have massive Muslim immigration to Western countries all over the world?

In my own city, Muslims are immigrating in massive numbers. I see Hijab everywhere now as compared to when I first moved here in 1987 when I never saw a Hijab. In fact, I didn't even know what Hijab meant.

Sadly, the PC legions long ago tacitly sanctioned polygamy (only for muslims, of course), so long as only one of the marriages is carried out in a civil ceremonies.

have you ever read "the war of the flea" by Taber?

he was an investigative journalist who ran with castro in the late 50's. the book is a classic treatment of guerilla warfare, it's tactics, rationale, and philosophy(regardless of the guerilla's ideology). highly recommended read, puts almost all the jihadi's actions in a logical context, regarding why they do what and the benefits of the results. for example, 9/11 was a screaming success, not so much for the loss of the buildings and 3000 dead, but for the damage done economically and psychologically, the damage to morale and sense of security, and the forced and COSTLY implementation of security measures, measures which will be unsuccessful because the guerilla simply attacks were security is not. guerilla warefare is much less a military war than it is an economic war. the guerilla wins by not losing, all he has to do is survive to fight again, thereby enhancing his image and costing the established order in lost credit and commerce from worried investors and wasted expenses dedicated to fighting an enemy that cannot be found. the established order "loses" by not winning decisively with a total eradication of it's foe, hobbled as it is by democratic ideals which prevent it from using the draconian measures required to insure the total destruction of the enemy, measures that would be aimed at the populations that aid and shelter the guerilla. such measures, if employed, will alienate further this population, which in turn will strengthen the guerilla forces with new recruits, supplies, funds, and related logistics like shelter and medical aid. so strengthened, the cycle begins again.

Very interesting speech, and articles that where definitley worth reading. Its good to see such insight coming from a country such as New Zealand which reflects the kind of liberal openess that the Netherlands has that has caused them problems. New Zealand even legalized prostitution in 2003.

They may be somewhat vulnerable when it comes to the PC of multiculteralism and a tiny influx of Muslims that doesnt even show up on the population chart of its nearly 4 million inhabitants.

Its geography could present problems given that it oversees, and is made up of several islands with it small military of of less then 9,000.

I'm thinking of the foot hold that has been gained by muslims on the Island of Mindanao in the Phillipines and the western part of it seems to be getting its way into becoming a Islamic state after the Phillipince Government appears to be giving in to the terrorist group Abu Sayyaf.

You said you believe that there has been an organized move to colonize the west, so do I. Why else would they be in every country? Even cold, uninviting climates...I have thought that almost since I started to read about terrorism. Kind of like killer bees, eh?

Check it out. It is the only book that I have ever read that adequately explains how mass movements get started. The ideas in the book are too complex to relate in a sentence or two but you will quickly see how it is relevant to the current Islamic threat.

You are right about getting a toehold. Whereever they get into a country, they immediately start seeking to attain political power. The European elites in the 14th to 18th centuries knew this in their blood. This knowledge has now been forgotten and must be reclaimed. As the Europeans regained territories from the Muslims, those territories were ethnically cleansed and with good reason! Now, we are letting them back in voluntarily. Essentially, we are committing suicide. And so it goes.

Yes. Every country. Not just Europe and the Anglosphere either. But also Latin America and Africa. In short, every country on earth. And everywhere they go, there is a concerted effort to ensure that the immigration continues. They use every tool at their disposal to ensure it.

There is only one country on the earth that is safe and that is Japan. That country is the only one in the world that does not allow immigration of any kind.

That is why a counteroffensive in terms of women's rights is absolutely necessary.
That will help counter the demographic jihad.
Also, as Hugh quite rightly suggests, keeping them within the boundaries of current Islamic countries will allow darwinian forces to deal with this overbreeding.

Absolutely Mentat, it is orgazized. I expect that there have been calls in the mosques throughout many Islamic states to settle in Dar al-Harb. And all those Da'wah organizations - what do you think they are telling Muslims in Muslim countries? In America, they are like frontier settlers. A whole bunch settle in one area, highly concentrated, and drive the infidels out of that area with antagonism and rudeness. Look at Dearborn, Michigan, it's a Muslim city now and the infidels are fleeing, all infidels, no matter what color or ethnicity.

Sounds like they might let Bakri back in on "compassionate" grounds.

Subject: The Tony Blair Anti-terrorist doctrine

The Blair press conference of 8/5/05 was a stunning declaration of war against the menace that has infiltrated Britain and aims to destroy it. Mr. Blair is the Churchill of 2005, the Neville Chamberlains are on the run, and we may again be witnessing the beginning of a repeat of what Churchill called “Their Finest Hour”. They are truly in a fight for their very existence as a nation.

Mr. Blair deserves the thanks of all Americans, since we can now hope that the Washington Beltway Folks can stop their eternal internal squabbling, take their heads out of the sand, and sit up and take notice: Britain is once again at war with forces that want to destroy it. And, like in WWII, these same forces want to destroy America, even moreso.

America should have a formal Declaration of War and War Powers Act by Congress against Islamic terrorists and all who support them. We need to forcefully get rid of this same menace that has infiltrated this country under the guise of religion, and Blair has given you a laundry list of the things that must be done.

In particular, you must go back to the law books and federal regulations and re-write the anti-hate speech, anti-profiling, and similar laws that are putting a stranglehold on law enforcement against this satanic enemy. The American people’s main contract with the federal government is to provide for the common defense, and not to allow subversives free-speech soapboxes and a parallel right of lawsuits to stifle free speech against them.

CAIR’s and ACLU’s practice of suing newspapers and radio stations exercising free-speech rights to criticize Islam, jihad, Sharia law, and subversive organizations such as CAIR itself must be brought to a halt. Free political speech is the foundation of this country, and must include free anti-“religious” speech when that “religion” advocates murder and terror, which is clearly the 1400-year old mantra of Islam, clear, unless one is blinded by Beltway smog or Saudi bribery. The federal government must deny these groups the right to sue. They are turning our court system into a branch of Islam and our law enforcement into a laughing stock. If these matters are not reversed the country will slide into the anarchy of Islamic terrorism.

CAIR, the ACLU, and a bevy of similar groups are anti-American subversive organizations that deserve the Blair Doctrine’s treatment: these organizations should be closed down. Participants in these organizations are like the traitors in the Communist Party during the cold war, and the Japanese, German and Italian subversive sympathizers in WWII. American citizen members of CAIR and the ACLU and their ilk should go to jail, naturalized American citizen participants should be stripped of their citizenship and removed from the country, and foreign imans preaching hate speech, terrorism and jihad should be kicked out and denied re-entry for life.

In parallel, the federal government must, repeat must, put adequate military on the border, 4 or 5 infantry divisions or what ever it takes, while at the same time recruiting and training a permanent million-man border patrol with teeth. Congress must appropriate the funds to defend the borders, whatever it takes, and it will take hundreds of billions. NAFTA and CAFTA must take a back seat to border protection. We must stop express visas in Muslim countries, and we must require visas and background checks of all visitors from whatever country, including Canada and Mexico. The porous American borders are widely publicized on Al Jazeera television (another subversive organization that should be shut down under the proposed War Powers Act), and they are using inflamatory propaganda to mobilize Islamic terrorists to infiltrate with the aid of the Mexican gangs and drug cartels. This must be stopped immediately.

If the federal government does not do its constitutional duty to defend the nation, the states and their peoples will eventually be forced into desperate survival actions to prevent anarchy and widespread Islamic terror. When that happens the federal government will have become irrelevant.

Tony Blair has shown the way. We must show solidarity with this oldest and most reliable of our Allies and deliver a coordinated knock-out blow to the enemy within, as well as the enemy at the gate.

By the way, I get the impression that some of our New Zealand Friends have not heard of the Islamic view of the world - Dar-al-Islam, and Dar-al-Harb, and those of us in Harb (The West, etc.) are to be killed, enslaved or converted, and jihad is the way. This is Islamic doctrine 1400 years old; they finally have the money to implement it. Get with it, Kiwis! You are the target too.

I think it was one of the sheiks who founded the Muslim Brotherhood who suggested that Muslim uteruses will be one of the primary means of subverting the West to Islam.

Mali bans Pakistani preachers

BAMAKO: Mali’s Gao Governor Colonel Amadou Baba Toure on Sunday announced an immediate ban on the activities of a group of Pakistani Islamists living in the zone along the border with Algeria. Hundreds of Pakistanis have arrived in Mali as part of a humanitarian aid and education effort, though once on the ground they turn their focus to preaching hard line positions that are not in line with the Muslim practice in the region, said Toure. He said, “We cannot accept that just anyone can come here and preach however they see fit.” Though the group has not been formally identified as belonging to any particular sect, they preach an Islam that is “pure and hard,” according to a municipal official, and are indoctrinating their disciples into an Islam that does not oppose violence. afp

ISLAMABAD, Aug 10 (Reuters) - A former government minister from Pakistan's minority Christian community was found strangled on the outskirts of the eastern city of Lahore, police and family said on Wednesday.

The body of Derick Cyprian, who resigned as minister for minorities, youth, culture and tourism in 2000, was found floating in a drain in Manga Mandi district on Tuesday.

"His hands and legs were tied with a rope and a noose was around his neck," Shafqat Ahmed, a senior superintendent of police said by telephone from Lahore. "He was apparently strangled."

Cyprian's elder brother, Noel, said the former minister went missing on Saturday after parking his car near a bank in the upmarket Defence neighbourhood of Lahore.

"His body was in a very bad condition ... He died two or three days earlier," the brother said.

The police do not suspect the murder was motivated by religious hatred, Ahmed said.

Christians account for less than three percent of Pakistan's 150 million mainly Muslim population, and have been targeted by Islamist militant groups in the past.

Prof. Igarashi, the Japanese translator of the Satanic Verses, was stabbed to death in front of his office. The Japanese government subsequently banned the book here.
Don`t celebrate too quickly. The Japanese are very thorough and dedicated people. Islam does not have a strong foothold here now. But if it does, batten your hatches. This would be the Islamic arms factory per excellence.
