Coral Springs, FL - Starting tonight, Broward County, Florida will be allowing CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) to hold a series of six lectures at the Main Library in Fort Lauderdale. CAIR, is currently the defendant in a lawsuit put forward by the family of FBI agent John O'neill for his murder during the 9/11 attacks. CAIR's parent organization, the Islamic Association for Palestine, recently lost its own $156 million lawsuit for the death of a young boy, David Boim, during a Hamas terrorist operation. CAIR has had numerous representatives convicted by and/or deported from the United States for terrorist activity, in relation to both Hamas and Al-Qaeda.
Not to mention all the materials which CAIR has placed in our public-library systems.

good opportunity to challenge them. they are counting on addressing sheep. a good half-dozen members of the DW/JW gang, armed with the right questions, alert to tangential obfuscation and taqiya, and determined to keep the speakers "on-topic or rather on-question", could have these mutts on the ropes in minutes, could potentially convince CAIR to give up on trying to make all 6 appearances.
the key is SELF-CONTROL. by acting in a pleasant manner, asking the questions in a calm tone, gently redirecting the speaker back to the question when the inevitable BS begins, refusing to settle for less than the answer, challenging calmly the inevitable attempts to inflame you, PROVING you know what you're talking about, and
steadily/relentlessly/firmly press the attack, we can make them show their true colors.

But but but is it not an essential that gloves must be worn when handling the koran. Will the librarians, staff and readers be provided with the gloves?
If so who`s supplying the gloves. I do hope the gloves are passed by the FDA cos people can be allergic to certain gloves. Has CAIR taken care to take insurance for this? Can the library be sued in case of allergy, or, if a reader goes on a jihad?

I checked the list of all their events in the Broward County Library newsletter and also found nothing.
If they ARE in fact meeting there, the job that t-ham mentioned is tailor-made for kj. He could grind them up and spit them out. kj, could you make the trip over, at least for the first lecture?
Watchful Eye, people could do what I do to counter the spread of Islamic propaganda in our public libraries: check it out and toss it in the nearest trash can. I have discovered that it is seldom replaced and the fees aren't that bad for lost books. It's well worth the investment, not that many people check out their garbage anyway.

"On Saturday, August 6 @ 6 pm I attended a forum
presented by CAIR at the main library (SE Corner or Broward Blvd. and Andrews Avenue (about 1/2 mile E of 95) in Fort Lauderdale. I give you this information because for five more consecutive Saturdays, more forums will be presented.
No papers were handed out; no blackboard or erasable board were used, so I cannot give you the correct names of the speakers. They mumbled (!) their names, did not spell them out; I think this was deliberate.
I did not ask any questions. Also, THERE WERE SEVERAL PEOPLE THERE WITH CAMERAS TAKING STILL AND MOTION PICURES OF ALL THE GUESTS. THIS MADE ME UNCOMFORTABLE. There were about 20 people there; 10 appeared to be Muslims.
The speaker was introduced by two other people, one was Khrid Firi (?) who explained that CAIR is a public Advocacy group promoting Civil Rights for Muslims.
The main presenter was Dr. Abdul Sumra, Imam of a
Mosque (THE Mosque) in Broward County; he has a PhD in Electrical Engineering, teaches @ FIU and was born in Damascus Syria.
What he said follows; I have done the best I can from my many notes....
Islam is the Arabic word for submission to the will of g-d; to Allah History: Mohammed was born in 571; in Mecca in Arabia; when he waas 40 years old, he had a revelation to invite people to worship ONE G-d; to follow discipline
to do right "according to Islam'.
Faith: Believe in G-d, in the hereafter; to stand
before G-d an be accountable for your acts; to be
punished according to your actions/deeds - you strive to be removed from Hell to Paradise.
All G-d's messengers: all are sent by God. Since
Abraham, the message is :Worship G-d as one; be good to your fellow people. Life on earth is a test for the hereafter; there is reward or punishment.
He mentioned the Torah; Bible; Books of David and the Koran.
Destiny: to do certain thins: some by choice, some not
Worship: believe Allah deserved to be Worshipped.
Five main areas:(pillars of Islam)
1. Winesss and acknowledge Allah as one; Mohammed was Allah's messenger.
2. Salah prayer; connect to G-d.
3. Wealthy are required to pay 2.5% to needy - who is rich? after your expenses, for example $1000 would
require you to pay only $25.
4. Fasting and abstinance - sunrise till sunset, tomake you feel hunger and thirst like the needy
5. Trip to Mecca (HAJ) - Mohammed was there.
Islam is a way of life - it deals very much with
detail - all daily activities. It is ‘fixed' - so is the way to worship. In business, you are to be honest, clean, truthful, not to cheat; a contract bust be fair, just, and honest.
There are 5 ESSENTIALS:
1. PROTECT RELIGION
2. PROTECT LIFE OF PEOPLE/OTHERS
3. PROTECT WEALTH/PROPERTY - NO STEALING OR CHEATING
4. PROTECT YOUR MIND- ALLAH GAVE YOU INTELLECT AND THE ABILITY TO THINK. THEREFORE YOU CANNOT DRINK OR USE DRUGS AS IT CHANGES YOUR ABILITY TO THINK.
5. PROTECT YOUR FAMILY AND REPRODUCE, TO INSURE
FUTURE GENERATIONS. YOU MUST REPRODUCE ONLY WITH YOUR SPOUSE (ALTHOUGH MEN MAY HAVE UP TO 4 WIVES); BUT THEY MUST BE ABLE TO SUPPORT THEM PROPERLY. HOMOSEXUALITY IS FORBIDDEN.
Today, there is extremism among some Muslims, but the Koran says to be moderate.
(He stressed several times that innocents should not be killed. No one thought to ask what/who is an innocent. I did not ask, either).
The Teachings of the Prophet Mohammed are from the
Koran and well authenticated. Six copies were written 23 years after Mohammed died. (He did not explain why, etc>) One is in the Topkapi Museum in Turkey. The Koran was writted during the time of the Roman/Arab Empire.
Most of the disagreement comes with the interpretation of the Koran.

Allah created everything so man can go and research whatever he wants. Human beings are special. G-d created Adam and Eve. Adam looked like us; everything was created from water. Since Mohammed, there is nothing new. Everying already existed, he just completed it. Judiasm and Christianity change; Mohammed completed the religions.
A muslim is one who submits their will totally to G-d.
