No, not jihadist media: Hizb-ut-Tahrir is still legal in Denmark, despite calling for the killing of non-Muslims. (Since they are a non-violent group, they must be, as Fjordman points out, advocating peaceful killing). But the Danish government has targeted Kaj Wilhelmsen, who has called for the expulsion of Muslim populations in Europe or the extermination of jihadists.
Of course, silencing Wilhelmsen will backfire on the Danish government. His extreme recommendations are born out of frustration that the government is not doing enough to combat the threat of jihad, and is kept from doing so by political correctness and multiculturalism. This action will only reinforce such perspectives. If they really want to discredit Wilhelmsen and strip away any credibility his views may have among Danes, they should move decisively against Hizb-ut-Tahrir and other jihadists in Denmark.
From the BBC, with thanks to Fjordman:
A radio station in Copenhagen has had its broadcasting licence taken away for three months after calling for the extermination of Muslims. In the controversial broadcast, Radio Holger presenter Kaj Wilhelmsen said: "There are only two possible reactions if you want to stop this bomb terrorism - either you expel all Muslims from Western Europe so they cannot plant bombs, or you exterminate the fanatical Muslims which would mean killing a substantial part of Muslim immigrants."
Following the London bombs on 7 July, at least three extremist websites have warned that Denmark could be the next target.
The reason for such threats is the 500 Danish troops working alongside US and British troops in Iraq....
On Tuesday, the Danish Radio Licence Commission ruled the programme in breach of the Broadcasting Act and decided to withdraw the station's licence for three months.
But Kaj Wilhelmsen has vowed to fight on. He says he will continue to broadcast on the internet, for which no licence is required....
In a separate development, Copenhagen Police charged Kaj Wilhelmsen with breaking the anti-racism law which makes it illegal to incite hatred against groups on the basis of religion, race or sexual orientation.
Henning Koch, a legal expert from Copenhagen University, told Danish Radio he believed Kaj Wilhelmsen was in serious breach of the anti-racism law and faces a possible prison sentence.
'Exterminate your rulers'
Since the bomb attacks in London, there has been an increased focus on extremist groups in Denmark. Only last week, the spokesman for the Danish branch of Hizb ut-Tahrir, Fadi Abdullatif, was charged with calling for the killing of the Danish government.
On a flyer distributed in Denmark, Hizb ut-Tahrir said: "So, travel to help your brothers in Falluja and exterminate your rulers if they block your way".Danish Justice Minister Lene Espersen is looking to find a legal way to ban the organisation. Those kind of remarks "have no place in our society", said Mrs Espersen in November.
Hizb ut-Tahrir has already been banned in neighbouring Sweden and Germany.
Copenhagen Police is also investigating another extremist group, according to Politiken newspaper.
The paper says the group is linked to a Copenhagen mosque and its website provides links to an al-Qaeda recruiting video showing Osama bin Laden calling for the killing of non-Muslims and demonstrating how to build a bomb.
Go Kaj Go.

This isn't the first time Hizb ut-Tahrir makes waves in Denmark:

Denmark: Hizb ut-Tahrir urges jihad
The Danish section of the fundamentalist Islamic organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir has called on Muslims to go to Iraq and fight a holy war against American forces there. In a leaflet handed out in a mosque in a suburb of Copenhagen and dated 8th November, the organisation urges Danish Muslims to go and “help your brothers in Fallujah and wipe out your rulers if they get in your way”. Furthermore the leaflet accuses Iraq’s interim Prime Minister, Iyad Allawi, of being a traitor and threatens soldiers in the Iraqi army with hell if they don’t turn their weapons against the Americans. An expert in freedom of speech at Denmark’s School of Journalism believes the leaflet is illegal.
Denmark, despite being among the toughest states in Western Europe, still has major problems with Islamic extremism:
http://fjordman.blogspot.com/2005/03/women-who-go-to-hairdressers-will-go.html
An imam has infuriated the nation during a Friday prayer session by insisting that Muslim girls should cover themselves from head to toe and condemning women who use perfume. Text of the sermon is to be sent to Muslim schools. Muslim girls should cover themselves from head to toe, and neither wear perfume nor go to the hairdressers if they want to have any chance of going to heaven.

Camel Economics
Two men have been killed in street shootings in a row involving a group of second generation immigrants in Copenhagen. An injured gang leader was subsequently freed by a group of masked men from the State Hospital, where he was under police surveillance. Integration Minister Hvilshøj rejected a proposal from Imam Abu Laban that blood money be paid to the family of a man who was killed. 200,000 Danish kroner is approximately the value of 100 camels. Some baffled commentators at first thought it was said tongue-in-cheek when Imam Abu Laban wanted the equivalent of 100 camels to be paid for a man’s life. That’s not the case. The number of 100 camels is based on the example of Muhammad himself, as recorded in sound hadith. Scandinavians were once involved in blood feuds, too. It's called the Viking Age, and we left it behind a thousand years ago, as should Muslims have done. Muslims make up less than 4 % of the population in Denmark, one of the toughest countries in Western Europe when it comes to confronting Islam. The fact that many of them, some even born and raised in the country, can still flaunt such blatant disregard for the most fundamental principles of our society should have alarm bells ringing all over Europe. Time is long overdue for some brutal honesty: Islam cannot coexist with Western society. All its basic tenets are hostile to every single idea on which liberal democracy and Western civilization are founded. Islamic culture cannot be integrated into the West any more than fire can be integrated with water. If Muslim immigration is allowed to continue, Muslim parallel societies will destroy our countries from within. We need to face this painful truth and act accordingly, or lights will soon go out over much of Europe.

Danish Muslim: Danish PM and Defense Minister legitimate terror targets
Doesn't the Danish government realize that if they don't start addressing the problems brought by Muslim immigrants, the Danes will start pushing back? Suppressing one radio commentator or 20 will eventually not be enough. Traditionally, the Danes have had a very good quality of life. They will not want to give it up to live in 7th century Arabia, at least not without a real struggle. That goes for the rest of Europe too; their politicians just don't get it....yet.
Voltaire,
Please let him know that he has fans here at Jihadwatch.
He knows it already.
And, not less importantly, he has increasingly more fans in Denmark.
Go Kaj Go!
Isn't it interesting that they can quickly ban a radio commentator and previously an entire political party that speaks out about Islam. But, let jihadists spout off about killing government officials, and they aren't sure what to do.
Well, for one thing they know that they can throw Kai in jail without having him freed forcibly by masked thugs -- or having death fatwahs pronounced on their heads and having to live with 24h police protection afterwards.
It is a lot easier clamping down on the Dhimmis than on the future rulers...
This is a gross mistake on the part of Dhimmiwatch and of all the misguided souls above who have supported this. Denmark has in fact already got some of the strongest anti-immigrant and pro-integration laws in Europe, and is a consistent target of the PC crowd for that. The anti-dhimmi attitude of the Danish Government cannot be doubted. And if you stop to pay attention for a minute to what this moron is really about, you realize that what he wants is the deportation of every last Muslim - an unacceptable goal - and/or the targetted extra-legal killing of anyone designated as a jihadist. Before anyone brings up the example of Israel, may I point out that Israel only targeted jihadi leaders known to have ordered or committed outrages; this man wants to have a licence to say to any Arab in the street "you are a jihadist" and shoot him down. His Radio Holger has a typically Fascist name (Holger Dansk is a hero of Danish folklore, of the kind to which Asatru and other right-wing maniacs always resort to) and I have no doubt that, like all Fascists, Muslim or otherwise, he intended murder. He deserves what happened to him. End of story.
I agree with Paolo. Wilhelmsen isn't a suitable posterboy for the anti-Jihad cause.
This is not a case of unfairly or unevenly applied law. It was easy for the Danes to close Wilhelsen down, just as it was easy for the French to shut down Al-Manur(e). Both clearly broke the conditions attached to broadcasting licenses in those countries. Closing down a website operated by organization like Hizb-ut-Tahrir and they'll just find another host. Applying for another broadcast license is a much more involved process.
And, however sickened, frustrated and upset we feel at times, calling for wholesale deportations or extermination is not to be applauded by anyone at any time. In fact, those kinds of comments are exactly what led to Spencer contemplating shutting down the Comments facility. So it is odd that he picked up this piece.
First let me state that I messed up and I was thinking of Holland so my comment was completely off-base.
"...you realize that what he wants is the deportation of every last Muslim - an unacceptable goal..."
First, why is that unacceptable? Was it unacceptable to make all the Germans leave Czechslovakia after WWII? If a group of immigrants prove unable to conform in large measure to your society and culture, is it wrong to make them leave?
"...and/or the targetted extra-legal killing of anyone designated as a jihadist."
Now that I agree is an unacceptable thing to call for if that is what he meant.
Waterdragon & Paolo:
If not wholesale-deportations what chance do you see for the survival of Europe?
For the last 30 years we have seen massive infiltration by increasingly hostile Mohammedans to our countries. They come with the intention to change our society, our political system and our liberal way of life. They have openly declared that they will out-breed us and we know what is in store for us once they reach critical mass.In the meantime they bomb us into submission.
By demanding more and more "rights for Muslims" they are creating a nightmare for all of us. The security measures to keep them in check will ruin the tax-revenue, and what's more is that they have told us that economic Jihad is part of the agenda to bring us down.
Just curious. If not deportations, what do you suggest?
Terminator;
"if not deportations, what do you suggest?"
And there in lies the crux of the dilemma. Answer that question and you will have assured yourself a place in history. Personally, I think that we don't have many options outside deportations. The muslims in the West have made their opinions and intentions crystal clear, their books lay out their directives, their clerics constantly exhort them to procede with the implementation of islam's plan. They have consistently stated that they do not honor or respect Western law and governments, do not feel(in fact resist) the obligation to assimilate, consider Western culture beneath contempt and a cancer to be eradicated, and believe it is their duty to obstruct, confound, diminish, undermine, subvert, and ultimately destroy said culture.
When an opponent lays his cards on the table like that and basically hands you his positions and intents on a silver platter, you disregard them at your own peril.
Having received this information, and knowing how islam views the West and it's attitudes towards being a cooperative and respectful participant of it, I cannot imagine a partial measure which would bring about any modicum of success, other than possibly a temporary and ultimately unsatisfactory reprieve.
Kaj Vilhelmsen is indeed a wacko - but he is not a serious problem. It's 'experts' like Hennig Koch who earlier this year strongly supported the laws on blasphemy here in Denmark who is a danger to the democracy.
Paolo ->> Unfortunatly the Government in Denmark is not anti-dhimmi.
It wont aboslish the blasphemylaws, it's dealing with imans who has defended stoning + much more.
Don't fool yourself by the stricter laws on immigration.
Terminator: I thought I had answered that question long ago, over and over, but it seems that I must do the same damn dance once more. I propose the expulsion of all proven disloyal Muslims, including the penalty of exile for citizens born who are found plotting against their country. (Several European Constitutions, including the Italian ones, exclude the deprivation of citizenship; but I do not know of any reason why the ancient penalty of exile should not be revived.) I propose constant and intrusive control of mosques and Islamic associations, registration with the State, and making the formation of illegal Mosques and Islamic associations a criminal offence punishable with heavy fines, years of forced labour, or exile.
Now, two or three arguments against your cruel and escapistic dreams.
First, you imagine that there is a way of simply removing Muslims from our society. This is pure escapism - there is a problem in our society, let us remove it so that we can live quietly and without any more problems. It is an impulse to correct reality to align it to one's own wishes, not to say delusions. And for that reason alone it is bad.
Second, it is historically ridiculous. Mass expulsion in a large, diverse society with mass transportation is nonsense. It cannot work. It may have worked in the primitive conditions of the high middle ages and the renaissance - although in point of fact the Muslim minority was never quite destroyed in Spain, and has recently come out of a 400-year hiding - but not in a world where communications are easy and cheap. (Albion ignorantly said that the Catholics were expelled from England. That is utterly false. A Catholic minority continued to exist in England from 1558 to 1830, when the Church was legalized again, including the poets Shakespeare, Dryden and Pope, and the close families of the poets Donne and Milton, under the protection of several noble families including the Dukes of Norfolk.) The closest parallel is the Roman Empire. The emperor Claudius expelled the Jews from the city of Rome in about 48AD; by 57AD they were back, and by 100 they were probably the largest single ethnic group. The ease of transport today is a hundred times greater, and immigration equally more unstoppable. If you had the slightest idea what is happening at the edges of Europe, on the Mediterranean and on the streets of the Balkans, you would not - assuming you were sane - even begin to imagine that the Muslims can be expelled.
Third and most important, it is atrociously unjust. It would sweep up and throw out the peaceful and law-abiding majority alongside the admittedly large and poisonous minority, ignoring any principle of fair retribution, let alone the notion that holds society together, that a person who has committed no crime ought to be safe in his or her home. If we are not fighting for the traditions of European justice, law and morality, then I want no part of it. I oppose Islam precisely because it does not recognize these principles; and neither do you. You seem to view this struggle purely as a confrontation of machismos; you feel threatened in your manhood by Muslim brutality, amd you react by threatening the Muslims with more brutal violence and relentless malice. You become no different than them. But in my world, in the world I would indeed fight and die for, the law protects every human being; yes, including Muslims. If you do not like that, we are not on the same side.
Terminator:
Wilhelmsen advocated mass expulsion and executions assuming the majority are extremists, which is one hellish assumption.
To expell people from countries where the rule of law prevails, you have to pass laws and have the logistical capability to expell them. I don't have a problem with laws that expell people who engage in activities that endanger the lives and liberties of others. I know the bad actors are more than an insignificant number, but far from 100%.
I don't know about where you live (UK, I think), but I live in Toronto. We've had Muslim immigrants come in different waves from different parts of the world. The earlier immigrants -- 1960s and 70s -- weren't then and still aren't much different from any other immigrants from other parts of the world. Hardworking and decent, with (few notable exceptions like Aly Hindy, former nuclear safety engineer and currently imam to the notorious Khadr family amontg others)at the Salahudin Mosque.
I don't believe these people were merely the landing party for the Islamists who mainly seem to have arrived in the last decade or so, whether as "refugees" from countries that have outlawed the Muslim Brotherhood or whatever jihaddist ideology they subscribe to. What we need is to ensure these non-Islamist Muslims understand that they have a stake and a responsibility in identifying and prosecuting the hate-mongers and jihaddists in their midst. Broad orders to expell on the basis of religion alone seem like serious overkill and unworkable, the Czech Benes deportation of ethnic Germans notwithstanding. I don't know all the details to be able to fairly compare the two.
waterdragon52:
"What we need is to ensure these non-Islamist Muslims understand that they have a stake and a responsibility in identifying and prosecuting the hate-mongers and jihaddists in their midst."
I have a simple question here, what if they don't take the responsibility? What if they continue to be an ocean for the sharks to swim in?
ITS
Jan Vink,
Public debate with true modern, moderate muslim voices is necessary more than ever.
How blindingly true !
And now let’s put ads in the papers “ interested in meeting true modern, moderate muslims - all three of them. Please observe that we can not guarantee your safety, so please wear a flack jacket to the meeting““
BTW,
Hence calling on mass deportation and murder…
You are putting words in Kaj Wilhelmsen’s mouth. He never called for wanton murder of Moslems. He had the audacity to suggest that those who are planning our murder should be killed before they have chance to kill us. Perfectly moral and completely logical stand.
Do you have a better solution beyond the “public debate with true, modern moderate muslims?”
Waterdragon sez:
"I don't believe these people were merely the landing party for the Islamists..."
Terminator sez:
"... sure these people were the landing party..."
Paolo sez:
"I oppose Islam precisely because it does not recognize these principles; and neither do you. "
Paolo:
Terminator respects these principles! These principles are (are only) for those of us who follow the "golden rule"...
Terminater sez:
Islam and Mohammedans do not. Like a 'guest' that comes into your house, cut's your throat and intends to take over.
Poetess: I enjoyed reading your above post! Right on the money!
Thomas h:
Lets do it:
" Interested in meeting true, modern, moderate Muslims..."
By all means: Who's listening: Let's do it!
Let's see how many "moderate, modern" Mohammedans we can find. Lets see what they have to say.
I daresay we'll find one in ten, and he/she would be an apostate...
Wanna bet?
