LONDON (AP) - Police charged a 23-year-old man Wednesday with withholding information about the failed July 21 bombing attempts targeting London's transit system, making him the first person in Britain to face criminal charges in the attacks.The charge alleges that Ismael Abdurahman, from southeast London, "had information he knew or believed may be of material assistance in securing the apprehension, prosecution or conviction of another person in the UK for an offense involving the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism."
He allegedly learned that information sometime between July 23 and July 28. Abdurahman will appear before Bow Street Magistrates in London on Thursday, police said.
The bombs set on three subway trains and a double-decker bus only partly detonated and did not cause any injuries. The attacks came two weeks after four suicide attackers detonated bombs on three subway trains and a double-decker bus, killing 52 other people.
British police have arrested 37 people in connection with the July 21 attacks, and on Wednesday were still holding 16. They released one detainee Tuesday. Police say those still in custody include three of the failed bombers.
What London is doing in response to these terrorists is exactly the response that needs to be carried out by every country in the world. We need to work to rid ourselves of these radicals because if we do not, the result will be devistating.
What worries me is that there are 37 arrested plus 16 still being held. That is potentially 53 people that were involved in this conspiracy. In other words, there is more to this than just a couple of high spirited muslims performing jolly japes as "loose cannons" as some would like to have us believe.
In any event, if found guilty I hope the perps get the book thrown at them but in addition to this, I would like to see civil lawsuits taken against these people and anybody else that was complacent in this crime. For example, file suit against the parents if they funded the jihadis trip to Pakistan jihad training camp AKA as a "religious school".
Evanew, that was really what I was getting at, relatives of the dead and injured should file a civil suit against anybody who appears to be complacent in this London incident. I'm surprised there has not been any ambulance chasing lawyers out there to take up the case.
In the case of 9/11, it would be difficult to sue the Saudi government and I am sorely disappointed that the US government seemed to be a bit quick at getting the Saud's out of the country so quick.

I say that because any Westerner that believes that Islam is a religion of peace is not fit to be considered a human being. Its apparent that Badawi wants to increase Muslim indignation towards the infidels even further and wants to portray Muslims as the victims and not the aggressors. He's obviously not helping anyone with his comments, Thank you Dr. Badawi for obfuscating matters.

No, ambulance chasing solicitors in the UK know which side of their bread is buttered - with the advent of the insipid EUrabian Human Rights legislation, there is no money in representing true victims - only the usurpers of the system & the terrorists.
