Anyway, the desire to "prove" that the modern Palestinians (who were Jordanians until one night in 1967) are descendants of the ancient Philistines or if we choose the Hebrew, Plishtim, has spilled into some strange circles. I've heard it in academic circles and journals and think, how much twisting will they do?

I stand by my essay written last year about the unintended consequences of Palestinian statehood.

The international community is by definition spooled up to manage relations between nation states. A framework has evolved in which nation states who live in peace with their neighbors enjoy the fruits of their peaceful behavior in the form of economic and political incentives that in turn promote the prosperity of their citizens. Nation states who persist in belligerent behavior are disincentivized with the extreme cases being simply erased as nations, e.g., Taliban and the Republic of Saddam.

The world community knows what to do with errant nation states. There is wide international agreement on what collective courses of action are deemed necessary to neutralize belligerent nation states. Until Palestine attains the recognition of status as a nation state from all the other nation states in the world, the action necessary to control the violence directed at Israel or any other nation state in the world is subject to wide disagreement and heated debate. Once statehood is attained, the penalties already defined and internationally accepted can be imposed. The severest penalty, ultimate destruction, is even sanctioned a priori by the world community for states who invade their neighbors with military force. In the case of Palestine it would mean that any rockets, mortars, snipers, exported suicide bombers, commando raids, etc., would all be consider military invasion.

History is littered with the rotting carcasses of would-be invader nation states. Israel or any other nation affected by the export of jihad from Palestine would be free to use whatever force is necessary to put an end to it. The world community is already set up to accomodate such a scenario. There would be no gray area, no ambiguity. It would be war in the traditional sense. It would be war in the big leagues.

Your idea sounds good. However, the Jihad against Israel can continue without the need of 'official' Palestinian aggression. For instance, the attacks can continue from Arabs in Israel. The Palestinian state will ofcourse disavow these attacks but give them support on the basis that Arabs in Israel were fighting for their rights. Again, Arabs in Palestine will infiltrate across the border and create mayhem. Meanwhile the state of Palestine will deny all knowledge of such attacks, and will 'try to supress' such activities within its borders.

These examples I have quoted are not fiction but the situation as is happening in Israel, Kashmir, Thailand etc. In each case the adjacent muslim country denies all knowledge and vows to supress such terrorist cells.

In such circumstances, it becomes well nigh impossible for the UN to sanction the use of retaliatory force against a sovereign nation, unless it can be proven that the attack was sanctioned at official government levels. This is a difficult task. The only case that comes to mind is the invasion of Kargill by Pakistan, when US satellites and other rec information showed conclusively that Pakistan was indeed committing aggression against India. Needless to say, Pakistan denied it vehemently until Pres Clinton read the riot act to Pakistan to withdraw, fearing that India was preparing a massive counter-attack.

I saw something on Link TV. There are about 3,000 Arabs employed by Israeli's in Gaza. They will lose their jobs when the Jews leave. They don't want the Jews to leave, but are afraid to say anything, for fear of being murdered as a collaborator or arrested by the Palestinian Authority.

There is no economy in Gaza, and no jobs except as Palestinian police or maybe in construction, but the pay is miserable.

Matter of fact there is no economy in all of the Palestinian territory, so how do these people eat, who provides their utilities, where do they get the money for anything, and why do they all look so healthy?

On the other hand, with no Jews in Gaza, Israel can easily seal off all roads and exits, and Israel controls and provides the water and electricity.

I also read that Israel is updating and modernizing the perimeter fence around Gaza.

So if the Jihadis try to use Gaza as a base for operations, it should be a simple matter of closing it down. Seal the entrances and exits, turn off the water and electricity.

That's what I would do, and I wouldn't have to fire a bullet or send in one bulldozer.

I might add, that every Jew in Gaza was essentially a hostage of the Arab, a human shield against any significant or massive retaliation by Israel.

With no Jews in Gaza, Gaza is now a hostage of Israel, not that the Arabs care about the lives or health of their own people. The evidence is that they don't. In the eyes of the Arabs all "Palestinians" are potential martyrs, and their lives are disposable, they exist only as weapons and propaganda tools to employ against the hated Jew and Christian.

The muslim as individual is an alien concept, all are part of a hive, the Ummah, and there sole function is to serve the hive.

The key to understanding Islam is to study the hornet and wasp.
